Webmasters / Re: Glo Is Blocking Some Websites by empowermite(m): 2:06pm On Feb 21, 2019
I confirm this incident myself and go on research to find three best solution

One of my blog (www.empowermite.com) followers and readers called my attention to this issue. I was trying to fill the Nigerian Navy Form for one of my cousin when I confirm what he said to be true. If you are experiencing the same. Hopefully this will be of help.

I cannot imagine an ISP blocking domains that is not blacklisted. The reason from my research may be because their system cannot verify the domain security certificates which should have alternative of informing the users rather than blocking it totally.

Career / Is Your Favourite Slogan “thank God It’s Friday”? by empowermite(m): 10:15am On Dec 30, 2018
The popular phrase “Thank God It’s Friday” or “Thank Goodness It’s Friday” (TGIF) could be a yardstick to measure your attitude towards your work, business, project, goal etc. Looking towards the weekend to get relief of the work is a sign that you are not enjoying what you are doing. Saying this does not mean relaxing is bad, it really an act of recharging and refueling your energy to get things done but not by looking forward for the weekend.

Various views about having passion for what you choose to be your profession has going a long way to determine whether you will be successful or not. I can’t support less since every effort towards a laudable achievement will encounter an obstacle along the way. It takes someone with a dogged believe to stick to such effort until breakthrough. Passion is like ‘it is this or nothing’.

This assumption is not only applicable to Friday. I could say it’s applicable to everyday. If you always feel relief leaving and feel depress resuming, it means you are condition to stay, if not you will be somewhere else. Or could it be you have another project you are always running to after closing. Maybe you should stick to that.

The Way Forward
The last statement in the last paragraph is a good suggestion. If you are not cheerfully getting along with your job, find something you are passionate about to spend your weekend on rather than taking it as an opportunity to get away.

According to Billionaire Richard Branson the founder of Virgin Group, “Hard work is key, but enjoying what you do and having fun is just as crucial”. He also said “you have a 40 hour work week and 48 hours on the weekend”. You can literally spend the same amount of time on your goals that you did on your day job, in just 2 days”.

Money is important but it’s not a good idea to sacrifice your happiness and most especially your future for its temporary value. There is always a better way out, balance the equation. You need the money, but use your weekend to work on something you love to replace the present job or project you are not passionate about rather than spending it lavishly.

Thank God It’s Monday (TGIM)

I guess you might be laughing now because that is very uncommon phrase. But in reality, there are people who always look forward for the next day and the next not actually Monday. They love what they are doing and wish it is possible to never quit for just minutes except that the nature demand that from them.

Does it mean this people never relax? Far from the truth; they do but at a time the nature request from not necessarily looking towards the weekend or a particular day.

If you truly want something, you’ll want to work on it all the time. You need to develop the mind frame that the weekend is not a time to relax but it’s a time to work, maybe even harder than during the week.

In a world where reaching your goals is everything, there is no such thing as weekends.

Politics / The Conspiracy Of The Politicians by empowermite(m): 4:20pm On Dec 26, 2018
I am part of millions of Nigeria citizens happy to see our president back after his vacation that lasted more than expected. I am very sure it is not a deliberate act but knowing full well that there is a lot of hidden fact clear to people close to him among family and political mate. But my question is that; could that be a conspiracy?

Being born in the late 70s, I grown up to witness military government until 1999 when democracy return back to Nigeria. But since then, the definition of democracy by different scholars is becoming questionable. According to Wikipedia “Democracy (Greek: δημοκρατία, Dēmokratía literally "rule of the commoners"wink, in modern usage, is a system of government in which the citizens exercise power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament.”

The world believes that democracy is the best system of government, everyone hate the system where they cannot be able to question the people governing them which become ruling instead of leading. But looking at the democracy of ours, I began to questioning which one is even better among the two.

One thing is glaring among all other measure: corruption. The rate at which corruption is being perpetrated in this democracy is becoming alarming compare to the military system of government. It happens at every level, from political appointees, government officials and down to community leaders. I visited a friend in a community within Lagos. Getting there, I met a group of people discussing about the issue of community leaders and the way they are handling the electricity issue. As gathered, the payment is centralized, the electricity companies does not need officials to go about soliciting for bill payment, the community leaders promise to do that, and they estimate an amount expected from them monthly. Things seem to be going smoothly until the electricity power company decided to stop supplying electricity. That is when the community members started asking question on what seems to be the problem. A little research reveal that despite the fact that the amount the CDAs (Community Leaders) are collecting monthly if estimated is above the agreed bills the company is expected, they even failed to pay the company the one collected. It was when the people in charge cannot bear the mounting unclear bills that lead to disconnection.

Now, the community members are certain on what is going on with the game their leaders are playing. But that is raising an assumption on the part of the people in charge at the company suspecting something abnormal happening. All this is just by the way on the issue of corruption in democracy.

Robert T. Kiyosaki, a notable game changer to personal finance around the world wrote a whole book titled “The Conspiracy of the Rich”. He made it well known that there is conspiracy concerning our education, taxes and the reason why practical personal finance and money management and or wealth creation is omitted from school curriculum up to university level.

Reading this book several times is exposing a lot to me to think about concerning leadership and political issues in Nigeria. There seems to be a lot of conspiracy on many issues masses are arguing and fighting themselves about. Recently, I come across an article written by Dr. Strive Masiwiya (Chairman, Econet Wireless) concerning a conspiracy that leads to the exits of Econet Wireless (one of the first carrier of GSM operation in Nigeria) from Nigeria. You can read the full articles here https:///wloa2z .

The present conspiracy around the health of our President Muhammadu Buhari is the same that happen during the regime of Late President Musa Yar’Adua that leads to his exit to eternity (may his soul rest in peace). This keeps me wondering and questioning if it is wrong for the populace to know the health condition of their president.

In conclusion I realized that since the game is all about the power between political parties more than the well-being of the people they pretend to be leading, everyone are protecting their interest both personally and in group(political parties). As a result they prefer to keep the truth away from the media in other not to give their opponent opportunity to take advantages of such information for media propaganda.

The game have now become “if you cannot beat them you join them”, even if President Muhammadu Buhari is not pleased with this conspiracy for who we know him to be, he is incapacitated to tell the masses.

Right from agrarian age, there has always being conspiracy. But expectedly we think modernization should put an end or at least minimize it most especially with democracy, but unfortunately it even becoming more intense. It is left for you to accept the reality of bettering yourself instead of wasting your precious time and energy discussing, arguing and fighting for or against the powerful conspiracy game. Saying this does not mean I am supporting the ungodly act but knowing fully well that if you and me is conscious of being righteous and shun the immoral leadership style and other corrupt practices, tomorrow will be better. Since naturally changes occur whether we like it or not.
Education / The Education We Are Proud Of by empowermite(m): 1:28pm On Dec 26, 2018
By Balogun M. Adewale

What has just became a public discussion today have being a subject that has being costing me sleepless night since graduating in 2002. Before getting admission to study finance which I love, I have my hands as a teen in some entrepreneurial activities immediately after my secondary school (basic education), although not encourage or mentored by anyone, it just one of the passion that I have as a boy raised is a village depending majorly on coconuts, sugarcane and fishing as sources of income.

After graduation, my passion to go into entrepreneurship is so strong that I started selling self development books in front of my school without planning for it. This is as a result of my search for materials to further develop myself after graduation. A visit to my brother at Ajegunle in Lagos is an eye opener, although I have being going there but have never notice I can get such books in those bookshops I pass by along the road to his house. But this very day I made it as part of my plan to search and was amazed that I can’t postpone it till another day. Fortunately, it’s at a wholesale price, I spend all the money in my pocket to by what it can afford.

What actually brought this menace of whether education really matter to people’s attention is the just concluded Big Brother Nigeria and some other social and reality TV shows sponsored with millions and billions of dollars. People started comparing this programme with other educational programme. While those who participated in those social and reality TV shows qualify without any consideration for any formal education and the winners making it in millions, the educational programme counterpart makes stipends with rigorous qualification process. This is posting the major question in peoples mind, does education really matter?

The personal experience in search of entrepreneurial programme commence in 2003, its not until 2005 before I was fortunate to qualify with the programme costing us N25,000 training fee within three months excluding transportation and other logistics. The painful part is that of finance. As it was part of the advertisement slogan that start-up capital will be made available to participants as a loan only to have it stylishly being removed.

This same occurs in another programme I took part in 2016, although absolutely free but like the previous, the financial aspect was scraped. It was later that we got to know they are only trying to recruits marketers and so called partners for their products.

One of the books I came across during my search for self developments materials is the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki. It was what I have being looking for. I devour the book in less than 3 days amidst my rigorous daily activities. This book and other books by the author get me committed to my entrepreneurial and financial education. The author’s thoughts on education and other ideology including assets and liabilities that keeps people’s in poverty was globally criticized by so called experts, ignorant and those who know the truths but benefits from it directly and indirectly. But today it’s becoming glaring beyond doubt.

In my book “The future is now: Education, Mentoring and Success” I wrote;

The Best Career

I remember in the 90’s when I was still in high school, the brilliant students were expected to be in science class, while average students were expected to be in commercial class and art class were assumed to be for lower level students. Meaning from general interpretation back then which is till somehow applicable today. The best career is science, followed by commercial, and lastly art class. This interpretation also affects the tertiary educational institution we have, but gradually things are changing for good. The college of education was interpreted to be for the unfortunate (less privileged) students, the polytechnic second choice if you are unable to secure university admission.

To me, all this is misconception and misinterpretation for both career and tertiary institution choice. We all know that, in this age, all things being equal, it is easier for art students to make it faster than commercial and commercial students faster than science students. The reason is that, the world have change, formally everyone is going to school to become and employee in the industrial age and there is much work available in the science and commercial than art, and employee in science career such as doctor, engineer, etc. receive higher pay than the commercial and better than art. Success in information age is about the products or services (value) you can create with your talent, passion, skills, idea, and experience and by following the trend. It is easier for a teenage girl or boy still in school to make fame and money from a single album as a musician, just as for a teenager talented in athletic. In fact, people who have the money are ready to promote sport and entertainment than any other business.

It seems I am now in support or in favour of art than commercial and science careers. No! I am only trying to see the light in the career path people think is the worst. For example, in favour of any career in the three fields, if you can learn how to write articles and good books just like this, you are sure to achieve a fulfilled career for being and author and speaker in your area of concentration.

In a nutshell, all careers are good, we only need to specialize. In other words, specialization as we have learnt is really working for us in this age than any other time. Someone is in need of your service and product and now that the world is becoming a global village with the aid of internet, we have over 7 billion people in the world you can showcase; your talent, passion, idea, skill and experience to. If you are able to convince only 0.001% of that to your side, you are sure to achieve your career goals in terms of fame and wealth.

This is really worrisome, and is not excluding those who are ruling us rather than leading us since we the so called educated ones shy away from participating in politics. Unfortunately those who manage to pass through school among them are not even helping issues.

Even before now during many of my discussion, mentoring and training session, I always obliged the participants to search within their community of those who are financially free. Are they the so called educated ones?

As written from the extract from my book, it’s as a result of trends. Few years back, no parents will ever encourage their children to go into sports, music or acting, but today, the trends favour them above many professions, while we cannot do away from entertainment, this might not go on till eternity.

If you are not talented in athlete, singing or acting, then think of providing solution inform of products or services to solve multiple challenges and problems around the world. Unfortunately those who will be left behind are those who continue depending on their academic qualification and certificate to earn a leaving. Of course, they may make a leaving but not fortune.
