Religion / Re: Why Do God Leave Us To Suffer? by eniyan(m): 8:27am On Nov 27, 2007 |
God is God. From my experience, somethings happen and we have no explanation to what the hell is happening. In terms of people suffering and God watching there are countless reasons. It could be: - God testing the person's faith - God punishing the sins of the unjust (remember that God said he punishes the sins of the wicked up until the 3rd and 4th generations. - God wanting the person to go through a certain experience so as to help others - God's Will! There are many other reasons which I do not know myself. But what can we do. Prayer & dedication to God. Life goes on no matter what. Just like Marvin Gaye sang "Whats happening?" I know some people may ask why are we serving this God - but I want to ask anyone too. Have you found another 'god' greater than God? The God that brought the Isrealites out Egypt! The God that sent His only Son to die on the cross that we might be saved! |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Nairalanders Help; I'm Dying! by eniyan(m): 9:32pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
Keep your head up. Be strong my man! You would be proud of yourself for staying strong when things get better. Everything gonna be alright - just might take time. PRACTICAL ADVICE Like someone mentioned earlier, try see if you can get a teaching job at any school. You can go to the schools in the suburbs of Lagos. I'm sure they always look for teachers of your calibre (I'm talking from experience). You studied Economics. You can even begin a lesson in your area, teaching secondary school students. You can go to your local schools and encourage students to join your lesson to pass their final examinations. You can charge a cheap fee and have many students. If you have access to land, go into farming. Keep your head up brethren. |
Business / Re: New Entertainment Concept by eniyan(m): 8:55pm On Nov 26, 2007 |
Brilliant idea! If it is of high standard, you would definately get customers coming to visit. Your customers will include schools, families etc. Think about it yourself. In Lagos, there isn't much variety for the kids & family in terms entertainment. Having such an entertainment business will be good. But your challenge is this: How will you make the place continually interesting for customers who have previously visited your site. Would people like to come and see the same fish swimming everyday? Another challenge is the maintenance of the aquarium itself. You definately need to 'tune' your idea, to include additional services which you will be offering your customers. Good idea though |
Career / Re: Relocating To Nigeria by eniyan(m): 8:00am On Nov 26, 2007 |
@ freelancer, Congratulation for your degree. I will advice you to look for a job in UK - I know UK employers can act funny sometimes. The statement you made about going to Nigeria concerned me. Nigeria is good if you know your way around the system. I have heard of many people that went to Nigeria solely to look for jobs and they got stuck in system looking for jobs 24/7. Some people eventually made it into some reputable corporations. But I wouldn't lie to you. Except for God's divine favour and intervention, you would need a godfather or some baba agba, to help you get a job in Nigeria. Nigeria is more like the UK. It's not what you know, but who the heck you know! |

Gaming / Re: Proper Video Arcade Center In Nigeria by eniyan(m): 9:30pm On Nov 12, 2007 |
I remember there was one such arcade centre at 1004 at Victoria Island in Lagos. I don't know if the arcade centre is there. @ anjugra why are you asking about arcade centres? Are you looking to start a business in this area or are you interested in visiting the arcade centre? @ others, anyone know of any real arcade game centre, please let us know. |
Business / Re: Cost Of Opening A Cyber Cafe In Nigeria by eniyan(m): 6:27pm On Nov 07, 2007 |
@ adeakin, Good idea to start a cyber cafe in Nigeria. As for the cost, its better you speak to maybe an IT consultant in Nigeria. Or since you mentioned that you are in UK, it would be easy for you to consult an IT consultant here in UK. The IT consultant here in UK can enlighten you about the equipments you need and even the cost of the equipments, such as computers, servers, printers etc. Again, you need to think about the area you want your cyber-cafe to be located. Hope this helps Don't let anyone talk/discourage you from starting your own business. 1 Like |
Webmasters / Re: Lazy People Sell Links, Foolish People Buy Them. by eniyan(m): 12:01pm On Nov 04, 2007 |
The business section has turned from a place to exchange useful knowledge that may contribute to the progress of our country to a useless links market. This is true and its annoying. I think there should be a special business section for all these 'get-rich-quick' schemes, as per exercising freedom of speech. |

Romance / Re: Jilt Him Before He Jilts You by eniyan(m): 5:14pm On Oct 18, 2007 |
"Jilt him/her, before he/she jilts you" I smell fear hear. Let me tell you all something. Fear is one of the greatest weapon that could be used to ruin your life. If you fear something, that thing you are afraid of, usually happens. Why make life hard for yourselves? A girl fancies a guy, why should she have to play 'hard-to-get'? Likewise a guy fancies a girl, why should he attempt to make her jealous by threatening that he would dump her for another girl? People need to check their attitude in this 'modern' World. In the 'modern' World, you have people breaking other people's heart and the World sometimes praises the heart-breaker. Just to let everyone know, whether you are an Athesist, Christain, Muslim, Buddist or any other clan you can claim to belong to. There is one and only one God who rewards everyone according to their work, whether you are a believer of God or not. Anyone that intentionally breaks another person's heart knowingly, wouldn't go unpunished. Of course, you have people who were heart breakers and they succeeded in life with no problems, BUT I tell you, the God we serve can punish the sins of a person up to the 3rd & 4th generations. This God, can also choose to forgive the sins of a person as quoted in a bible passage - "blessed is the man, whose sins, the Lord does not count against him". |

@ poster, Take heart, and be strong. Move on with your life - You are prosperous with your education - keep it up There are many girls out there to choose from, so move on up bro! It might take a while for you to heal. Please I beg you not to become a ruthless love-vendor. Your case has happened to about 5 of my gentle friends and they have become ruthless-cold-pimps with no regard for women. These 5 of my friends even bet on who can break as many girls hearts as possible within a year. I'm still praying for God to have mercy on my friends. |
