I know what I’m talking about.

The election was to hold on a Saturday and Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court, Abuja, said he was going to deliver his judgement on whether or not card readers should be used by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday, two days to the election.

We filed preliminary objection, he overruled it.
.
I was in court with Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Akin Olujinmi (SAN), and Kola Awodein, (when) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu sent an aircraft to pick me in Akure, saying that if we were not in court, the election would not hold.
.
There are things that need to be unveiled in this country.
.
Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola (former Lagos State Governor), the Vice President (Prof. Yemi Osinbajo), Lai Mohammed, the AGF (Abubakar Malami) were in the know. And Kolawole overruled us.
.
Then he called the plaintiff and said, can you go ahead with originating summons?
.
I will deliver my judgement tomorrow.
.
Like someone who was possessed, I rose up and said I was applying for stay of proceedings.
.
Then the other lawyer interjected and asked for my formal application.
.
I gave him two authorities offhand that I could apply orally.
.
That was two days to the election. Kolawole said well, whatever it is; I would want to listen to you.

He listened to me.

We did it pro bono in the sense that the APC hasn’t paid us.

Nobody even wrote a letter to say thank you.

Then thereafter, he wrote a ruling and granted stay of proceedings 48 hours to the election.

The Supreme Court later held that, though the card reader was a good innovation, it was not yet in the law.

Would Buhari have been President if we had not done that?

What could be more technical than that?

They filed action against Buhari, we looked at it; we raised objections and we were dragging that.

And some people will now accuse me when I do it for other people that I’m defending looters.

I appreciate ur effort to sensitive the public on the current situation of forex stuffs with Nigerian debit cards. I just want to set the record straight so ppl can benefit from a complete and verified info.

1. GTB hasn't totally block their mastercard from international transactions. It's only disallowed from websites that witnesses frequent currency exchange transactions. This they(GTB) call forex sites. Their useless Mastercard stil works on amazon, ali express and few websites that Nigerians seldom do business with via local debit cards. All they wanna achieve is a very limited use of the almost unusable $100 dey gv customers.

2. It doesn't even work on skill, so don't bother urself with the stress

3. Access bank(visa card) and UBA(Mastercard) cards work well for any sort of international transactions u wanna do with the $100 monthly limit. These are the only usable banks as of this moment. Access bank cards works at anytime of the day but uba cards work only midnight with a trick I'm not ready to bore y'all with.

4. GTB has disabled their cards on PayPal sinx 15th, not even on 17th as d OP finks. It's coz dey av noticed frequent international transactions using PayPal with their mastercards. If u find a new site to use for international transactions, once ppl begin to use dat site and they see the forex traffic. They blacklist the site sharply without warning.

You still haven't addressed my question. I was actually living in Kano during the Danish cartoon ish and I witnessed what happened. I'm not saying there was no violence, my point is the violent is 'ethnitically' motivated as against the popular saying here in the South that it is Muslims targeting Christians (Mind you, I'm not a Muslim).

I know for a fact that most crisis in the North are started as a reprisal to perceived insults on the dominant religion in the region (Islam) anywhere in the world. However, when you look at the victims of such violence you will see that they cut across religious divides. Most times (if not everytime), the victims are non-hausas irrespective of their religion. Your being a Muslim does not matter as long as you are not hausa, your life is endangered.

Most of the Hausa Christians are however immune to the violence. They are the ones who usually help people escape the violence unleashed by their brethren. I have even seen an Hausa Christian kill people in one of the crisis.

My point is, though the excuses given for the violence are religious, the real reasons are very far from that. Take Boko Haram for instance, are they killing only christians even though they say they wish to create a sharia state?

The bolded tells me you don't know a dot about the numerous killings of indigeneous christian northerners. Just keep quiet. Argue about what you know. Its painful to see someone write such ignorant nonsense!

That is, for a prof who has gotten to the bar, no more promotions. While a graduate assistant takes between 90-98k monthly.
But i have seen some ridiculous persons on NL claiming that a grad assistant takes 140k monthly. That is what obtains in all public universities. Dont come here quoting salaries from private universities. No need to upload any payslip, you can get a copy of the entire CONUASS table if u wish. Go and get the facts straight!
Second, the claim by one poster that most lecturers are corrupt, selfish, arrogant and wicked is a wicked generalisation. I have spent all my working life in the university system. Even though there are bad eggs in the system- some of the most kind hearted and loving persons i have met are university academics!!!
