On January 4th, we updated the medical information using a webform and started the waiting period. Despite numerous emails sent to the designated IRCC email addresses and several webforms filled out, we received no response.

My spouse reached out to her MP's office to express our concerns and was informed that we would need to wait due to an overwhelming number of applications. She later visited another MP's office who offered reassurances and explained that one major factor affecting SOWP delays is the city to which the applicant is going. The demand for the applicant's NOC can determine the speed of the response. This MP promised to make inquiries with the IRCC if we didn't receive any feedback within two weeks.

Indeed, the SOWP PPR arrived within the specified two weeks, though not for my son's VV. Instead, my son received a medical request and an authorization letter, and the passport data page from my spouse. It's worth noting that an authorization letter had already been submitted with the initial application, but for some unknown reason(s), it was requested, again.

Travel Experience:
Our experience at MM2 was typical. We flew via Lufthansa Airlines and had another document check-in Frankfurt. Upon arrival at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), I filled out the declaration form. The officer asked if I was carrying food items such as fish, meat, or yam and whether I was carrying more than CAD 10k. My answer to both inquiries was a definitive "No."

The encounter with the immigration officer was quick and smooth. The officer only asked why I was in Canada and requested my Letter of Introduction. Please note that no questions were asked about my son. Another Nigerian who stood before me was asked by another immigration officer to show his marriage certificate and children's birth certificate.

I scanned our passport and filled declarion form( where you’ll be asked if you have more than CAD10,000 or fish, chicken and all that)
Then I got a print out to take to the next stage

There’s another queue( don’t know what that is) the person didn’t really ask any question, she was just playing with my baby

Then he asked me to sit for a while. He called me to pick up my permit with my daughter’s about 15-20 minutes later.

You require a sum of 4k, but it may be beneficial to have an additional 2k as a miscellaneous amount. It is always wise to be prepared for unforeseen circumstances.

According to the IRCC website (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html#doc3), the minimum requirement is 4k for the first dependent, but including a miscellaneous amount is a recommendation I consistently provide.

When you visit DHL, make sure to specify that you require a two-way courier service. Additionally, provide them with the address where you would like your passport to be delivered once it is ready.

Received passport “ready for collection” email on Tuesday, June 20.

She picked it up today Thursday, June 22.

With this experience, I think the turnaround time is fast in Lagos too, compared to what people are saying.

Just so you know, there are several factors that would have influenced these data. First of all, An ill person will have to go to the hospital/laboratory to get tested for data to be obtained. So that being said, in areas where access to formal healthcare is low, data collection will be low and this will ultimately affect the result obtained.

The last straw that broke the carmels back was yesterday....I and her have been having some issues of late and we talked over it infact we are just coming out of the tensions....then yesterday morning around 8am she told me that another ex of hers called her overnight and told her that his mum just passed away and he could not think of anyone to call but her cos he is so broken, she said she had sent her condolences already but that she will like to go greet the guy and his siblings cos they are in their fathers house [ the guy is still single ooo although they broke up in 2013] and that she will be able to know about the burial arrangements so she can plan on attending the burial..so she asked me for permission if she could go and pay them a visit yesterday..... A commercial brand of mouthwash can help to prevent gonorrhoea from spreading, new research suggests.

For laboratory tests, different dilutions of Listerine Cool Mint and Total Care, both of which contain 21.6 per cent alcohol used.

By way of comparison, a salt water solution was also applied to an identical set of cultures.

They found applied for up to one minute, dilutions of up to 1 in 4 significantly reduced the bacteria. While the salt water was unable to.

In a second part of their research, they assessed 196 gay and bisexual men who had previously tested positive for gonorrhoea in their mouths.

Almost a third once again tested positive for the bacteria in their throat on their return to a sexual health clinic in Melbourne.

Thirty three of these men were randomly assigned to a rinse and gargle with Listerine and the rest with the saline solution.

After rinsing and gargling for one minute, gonorrhoea in the throat was reduced by 48 per cent in those using Listerine.

While those using the salt water solution cut their bacteria by just 16 per cent.

And the men using Listerine were 80 per cent less likely to test positive for gonorrhoea in their throat five minutes after gargling.

'This readily available, condom-less, and low cost intervention may have very significant public health implications in the control of gonorrhoea,' the researchers wrote in the journal Sexually Transmitted Infections.

However, they say more research is needed to confirm their results to determine if mouthwash is an effective way to curb the spread of gonorrhoea.
