Politics / Re: History Of Nigerian Presidents & Their Religious Beliefs by enny5: 8:58pm On Nov 06, 2014 |
It is so appalling that there are people who think like this? What is the relationship between religion and the presidency? Please learn to address the issues that actually matter and can improve the current situation. Learn to ask the right questions? Islamisation of Nigeria is Highly unlikely. Islamisation of the northern Nigeria is fairly likely but at the same time we are living in civilised times (Thank God). We wouldn't want a repeat of hitler in nigeria now, would we? The more they push for islamisation, they create valid reasons for UN or international bodies to be involved and that would only result in them being wiped off effectively. This is a fight for the rights of nations and not the institution of beliefs. If we have to fight we will but Nigeria will never be islamised. WHY? Because Nigeria was not built on the foundations of religious beliefs but on the blood of brave men who fought for an independent republic and the freedom of the people. The fight the fathers of the country died for. They can have the North and their people (bordered after benue) and leave Nigerians in peace please. "The rights to fundamental human right is of outmost importance. The people of a nation should with the freedom of rights, only be answerable to the constitutional laws and not that of a single idea or single entity. Any threat to international prosperity and world peace should be swiftly and effectively eliminated". |

Politics / Just Thinking................. by enny5: 4:53pm On Sep 03, 2013 |
It is the 21st century, the age industry, education and technology. Nigeria, is an African country, who was set free in 1960. Allegedly to be 53 years old in October. For 53 years we have been at war. With ourselves, our leaders and even the average Nigerian fights a war everyday to meet the basic necessities of life. We have failed in all aspects to meet with the current modern standard of a developed nation that is industrially, intellectually and technologically stable. Why? Firstly, We lack an enlightened population. True poverty is of the mind. Most Nigerians cannot define their goals besides making profit and getting money. This is why we do not get rich. Because we find ourselves in the continuos loop of doing something, getting money, using the money and looking for the next thing to do. People hardly think of moving the society forward. Seeing a bigger picture for the country. Instead of moving the nation forward we are concerned wit personal profits and gains. We no longer know the right questions to ask the men who lead the nation. We now see proper allocation of resources and wealth as a basis for gaining election votes. We think that zoning our electoral positions and government offices is the best way to rule, as opposed to who can actually do what is required of that position. We see presidential elections as a religious campaign rather than a campaign for forward moving society. Nnamdi Azikiwe and all those who actually fought and bleed for our independence would turn and still bleed in their graves till this day. The Nigerian youth does not have the facilities for a modern education, and therefore is unable to identify what is really important. We do not even know what it is for a president to have fulfilled the set out political agenda before being re-elected. Our futures is being destroyed right in front of our eyes and we sit by and watch. The green passport is therefore not only a source of embarrassment to individuals but a signal for caution internationally. Going to Ghana, Malaysia or even kenya is now considered a privilege. These men have destroyed and sank the nation and I do not know if we can get any lower than this. They have only one agenda and one only. TO MILK THIS COUNTRY FOR ALL ITS GOT!!! A senator for 16 years(which is illogical in the first place), builds a golf course in Europe, a shopping mall worth over billions of Naira and flies a private jet that does not belong to his appointed office but to him. One man has net worth of 5.5 trillion naira (competing with the federal budget). Another with a world class hospital in London, just to name a few. The children of these men no longer hold a nigerian passport. They are citizens of other countries where people bleed, died and sacrificed to developed. Would it have been so painful to them to have just constructed a working educational, health, power, transportation, housing sector for the nigerian people before setting out on the quest for money? If this one man used a minor sum to create something tangible every year he was he office, we would have had 16 tangible things of note in Nigeria right now. We keep fighting and challenging ourselves, Jonathan VS Buhari, or North VS South etc. This is not our problem. The bitter truth is whoever wins the 2015 election is just a figure. What happens or what comes out of the person at the end his tenure would be exactly the same thing that we have had over the years. A USELESS AND DISAPPOINTING LEADER. It is a question of what human being decides to carry out the uselessness. So what we are actually voting for, is who destroys the country next? We need to start thinking big!!! If we want something done we need to seek and find out who can do this. Be it a muslim/Christian/Buddhist/pagan/westerner/southerner/Easterner/northerner. We need to start educating ourselves in whatever way we can to ask the big questions. Jonathan constructing roads for example is a good thing and a contribution to the economy. But, it doesn't change the fact that he has been at that position for more than 8 years and has nothing tangible to offer us at the end of his tenure. Personally, I dont want anyone to be on that sit in 2015. We need to put a stop to these vultures that just rotate the nigerian presidency for their personal means. None of them should sit there. They can retire. Am am really sure they are all passed retirement age to begin with. Nigerians need time to reminisce and think of the next step at this point. We need a new generation of leaders that meet the standards of the modern world today. They had their time, they had their opportunity and it was a completely useless and wasteful period in the history the nation. We need to start writing our own history. The history of this generation. This time. NOW. We need to start taking action. It might not be an immediate action. It might take years to actualise but as long we get there one day. We are building a home for our future generations to come, so they dont have to seek refuge in other countries. Its just really sad. But like i said, Just thinking aloud. |

From what this minister is saying, it is obvious he has a low level of education, or non at all or he is not enlightened at all. This is y we say the north should go to school. They will not hear.Instead of them to send their children to school and end their era of illiteracy, they are bombing everybody and marrying their 2 years old daughters off to old men with no waist again passing down the illiteracy from generations to generations. Now that he is old and she is young, so when she is getting old, what will he be doing? Wheelchair? |
Politics / Re: Our Position On ‘child Marriage’ – Islamic Organisation by enny5: 7:21pm On Jul 25, 2013 |
I dont seem to understand what is going on here. I thought we were in 2013!!! The 21st century. who does this? When you are meant to be striving to give your daughter the best education u can possibly give, groom her to become a cautious woman of virtue that when she is 35 & married she would still be the envy of all men. Marry? to senator? Nwa oo. These are the things that prevent Nigeria from moving into the era of industrialisation. If you guys dont know, this contributes to underdevelopment. |

They dont even need too much to wipe africa off the face of the earth. Infact we would be an obstacle for the real countries to fight. They wont waste their resources. Maybe just throw 1 Big bomb that will just wipe us off. That is even too expensive and too much work, THey will use toxic gas. Clean, Simple and effective. Then d real war will start among the real countries. |

Politics / Re: What Has Jonathan Achieved Since He Came Into Politics? by enny5: 10:26am On Jul 21, 2013 |
t-something: You still dont get the point. Yes we agree that agric exports have increased and a lesser percentage of the economy in dependent on oil now. Yes we agree to that. But the real problem is the that the annual overall GDP is still falling and not increasing. THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!! Bcoz the returns from the agric exports is not in our cash flow, they are in dangote's pocket. So the republic has no claim on the real returns from these exports. The only thing we have is the tarriffs and quota that dangote pays for xporting which can be seen as negligible. Secondly, the sectors of the economy that are no more dependent on oil, what r they now dependent on? Foreign bodies? That is not reducing dependency on oil. It is just reducing direct dependency on oil. bcoz it is still revenues from oil that will pay these forign bodies in the end, it will just take another route on annual monetary diagram. |

PapaBrowne: Interesting thing about this post is that for a large majority of the things posted, Jonathan has pictures all over the internet to prove his wort. Whether its roads, airports, power stations, universities or the world acclaimed Agricultural transformation, the articles and pictures are scattered everywhere here on Nairaland. What jonathan should be doing is making our refineries work again, invest in getting foreign companies to train, develop & correct our electrical staff so we can do these tins ourselves, Get nigs in agric sector taught ow to use machines and produce for ourselves, creating a different training programs in different sectors for NIGERIAN citizens by foreigners for a while so dat after somtime they can leave and we can continue ourselves, Instead of employing isreall company to handle IT, get them to improve and provide hardware for the sector & train interested youths to handle it across the nation, after a year or two dey leave. That way it is sustainable an in house. The problem is not that we cant get these things we can. the problem is getting them affordably and consistently. The tax on these goods wont be govt taxes anymore. what he is doin is not helpin bcoz at d end of the day having a generator mit be cheaper than using actual light if arik bought one of the power states. so what is d diference in quality of life b4 7 after? 1 Like |

Whether its roads, airports, power stations, universities or the world acclaimed Agricultural transformation, the articles and pictures are scattered everywhere here on Nairaland. All those pics u see, those tins are not provided by Nigerian based companies and that is what is importan. MY GOD!!! are nigerians reli dis daft? Meaning 1) we are going to pay extra per unit cost of manufacturing/factors of production, 2) whatever you pay for provision of all those services u see online is not coming bak to the nigerian economy, it goes to foreign pockets and private citizens who own the company. When they say America & UK are fully developed countries, dey dont mean that they have roads or houses or light, it means dat they are sustainable enough to provide all these things for themselves and make available & affordable to their citizens ensuring that it is sustainable and consistent for ages to come. Economic development is ability of a nation to provide basic amenities to his citizens. not ability of a nation to employ foreign citizens to provide basic amenities to its citizens. As long as we are not producing these tins ourselves, we are not developing. we are worse off. pls be wise. I can blive dat at ur age u would still ne deciecved by this pdp's 'working hard before elections' strategy. i tot all nigerians should be wiser by now. We are reli a low educated bunch. 1 Like |
