Early last week, I got a mail encouraging me to apply for graduate intern but I ignored it. Two days later, invite for GE interview came in.

Yeah, it's a HR technique of rejecting an individualwithout making them feelless of themselves.

I also got the rejection mail.

I spoke with a colleague who got the graduate trainee last year. He said it's really highly competitive. Out of 50,000 applicants only 10 of them got the job. This particular stage is where they'll drop many people. Less than 0.5% will make it through. And at the end it was certain and obvious that those 10 applicant worth it.. as they were exceptionally good. Shell is highly competitive with a good pay at the end. 30M annually for graduate trainee.. that's including other allowances

Do you mind asking him to share his key insight that was sent to him after the completion of the VJT and ODVI last year.

Can one apply without nysc discharge cert?

My pop is Oct and I’m seeing all these GTs flying around this days, but most of them stated that nysc completion is a must.

There is no harm in trying. But if I am to be honest, I won't advice you to apply because it will still end in regret mail.

I did not ask for the type of questions asked since I was not invited. But one thing I am sure of is that it is 30 mins.

Read about competency based questions (CBI) on Google. It will answer your question on obj or theory.

Unfortunately, I was not called for the second stage.

There is nothing to share as there is a very high chance that those who got the mail are not active on Nairaland (I am coming from the Graduate Engineering angle).

Looking at the number who made it to the first level interview stage, the number was shy of 20 and about 40% or less has gotten invite so far for the second interview (Graduate Engineer position).

The first interview was the purely competency based interview (CBI) with a mix of questions about the organisation. The duration for the first interview was 1 hour and for the second interview it was 30 mins.

That is just basically all. So you can see there is little or nothing to share ba?
