Investment / Re: USDT Is Not The Same As US Dollar by Error401: 12:31pm On Feb 23

Tugee:

How does converting Naira to USDT put pressure on the naira or the USD? Currently I believe Nigerians have at least $10Bn stored up in USDT, imagine if all that desperate demand went to the parallel market for actual USD, what do you think would be the value of Naira today compared to the dollar
Investment / Re: USDT Is Not The Same As US Dollar by Error401: 12:06pm On Feb 23
is USDT only used in Nigeria? Why is it not affecting other countries currencies? Even the US uses USDT, there are coys who offers payments in BTC, USDT, BNB.
NigerianEagle:
The crypto stablecoin USDT is not the same as US$.

This is a warning to those who are rushing to convert their life savings and wealth from Naira to USDT that they are taking a big risk.

The organisation which manages USDT claims that each unit of USDT is backed by an actual deposit of $1 in a bank but they have never been able to prove this.

There is no audit report or independent verification of this, the only document they have is an attestation.

There is a possibility of a stablecoin crashing and it has happened before.

If the USDT sufferers a serious depeg and crashes you will loose all the money you have there.

Go and read up about Do Kwon and his stablecoin UST which crashed and rendered thousands of people bankrupt.

Stop putting unnecessary pressure on the Naira by rushing to Binanc and other crypto exchanges to convert your money to USDT which is not even a legal tender in any country of the world!

ori yin o pe sir/ma... thesame tinubu that did ojota protest? You are here to write this epistle to defend the hardship your clueless principal bring on the masses? I dont want to insult you but people like you make me question some peoples thinking capacity

Nvestor02:
Only a mumu that knows nothing about economy will say Tinubu is not performing well... When I sit down and analyze every steps that Tinubu has taken, I come the conclusion that the man is on the right track.

Is either Tinubu return the subsidy, borrow more money and leave the suffering to the next generation

Or

He remove subsidy.... get money to run government by Increasing the internally generated revenue and pass the prosperity to the next generation.

Tinubu decision may be hard to for some citizens to beat especially low income citizens but I believe that Tinubu will increase the minimum wage soon.

The other, problem that Tinubu is facing is insecurity and Floating Naira.... That 2 problems come in the same direction and Tinubu is already tracking it.

Tinubu has declared war against Insecurity by creating a force called FOREST RANGERS that will be combing our forest.

He is also planning to create state police... If insecurity is defeated, Farmers will go back to farm and produce foods for the citizens.

Tinubu has increased state allocations by 41percentage to encourage more infrastructure in every states.

It's only with good infrastructure that food can circulate and building of local production will be possible.

If local Production is possible.... Economy will be diverted from OIL... AND Naira will start gaining weight.

As per the bolded, the SE are the ones opening funny wailing threads about hunger all over Nairaland. They are VERY bothered my friend.

The ones that need deliverance from poverty are the one robbing onion trucks of onions, or selling their votes for a plate of Okpa and Jollof. grin

You mean, we should go back to round tripping? Feeding our scarce resources to few businesses and political oligarchies, why other critical areas of governance continue to suffer?

The truth remains that Nigeria doesn't have the resources to continue to defend the naira.
Politics / Re: There Is Deliberate Attack On The Naira ???? by Error401: 5:00pm On Feb 15
When dollar was 216, you mean the citizen didnt desire to have a fat exchange value then>.
Rather than call a spade a spade, you are blaming rational humans who are insatiable.

FarmPlanetNG:

Its the citizenry's desire to always have fat exchange value that is killing it. The president didnt know the implications of removing the currency exchange peg. I am sure he is learning the hard way now. We warned against total removal of the peg but we were shunned.

Phones / Re: Phones You Shouldn't Buy by Error401: 11:29pm On Feb 11
shaa buy samsung galaxy note 9, thats all i have to say

domack99:
Micromax Smartphones.
All their smartphones are the copied version of any low budget Chinese smartphone.

Old version of iPhone
Buying an old iPhone just to show off is not a good idea instead you can buy the latest version of OnePlus.

Special Edition of any smartphone.
For Example, OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition and Poco F1 Armoured Edition. Base version of these smartphone are the best choice.

Any smartphone, which doesn’t have a service center in your city or nearest to your city.

Any smartphone just because of high amount of RAM.
RAM is required to handle multiple apps at the same time but processor is more important than the RAM. So, always check the Processor before buying a smartphone with high amount of RAM.

Any smartphone just because of the Brand name.
Currently, Xiaomi is the best selling brand in India but if Brands like ASUS, Huawei etc… will provide you better specification at cheaper price then always choose specification over brand. For Example, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2.

Any smartphone just because of Super AMOLED Display.
Samsung Galaxy J2 is a smartphone with Super AMOLED Display but apart from the display, no feature is good.

Any smartphone which advertised as the “Selfie Expert”.
Selfie Camera is not going to make you beautiful/handsome instead you can use a beauty camera app.

Any smartphone, which isn't worth the money.

The Palestinians are very good in playing the victim card, crying genocide up and down, but after this war, they will think twice before attempting an assault on Israel.
