The Tanzania man, Charles Mihayo, 36, who murdered his two daughters at his home in Melbourne on April 20th 2014 and then dressed them in floral dresses in an act of revenge against his ex-wife has been sentenced to life in prison.

According to prosecutors, after his wife divorced him, an angry Charles killed his own children just to make their mother suffer. He smothered Savannah, 4, and Indianna, 3, after playing with them.

Though he was sentenced to life in prison, Charles is eligible for parole after 31 years. Charles, who has since regretted his action, has refused to go into details as to how and why he killed the little girls, only saying he deserves to be punished.
On the day of the murder, the girls mother dropped them off with him, he then took them shopping for new clothes and shoes. What happened next isn't clear but Charles called the police to his home.

Today a mysterious woman, carrying a blood stained knife, was caught on CCTV walking down the street in New Orleans and randomly stabbing passers-by.

The New Orleans Police Department, who said the incident happened on Nov. 30th shortly before 9pm, is now asking for the public’s assistance in locating and identifying this woman.

They believe she'd stabbed others before she was captured on surveillance video stabbing two men, a 28 and 62-years-old, who sustained minor lacerations.Click on the video clip below to see it.

He must be devastated. The ball he threw killed another man. 22 year old Bowler Sean Abbott, whose bouncer hit Philip Hughes in a freak accident on November 25th pictured above being comforted as he left St Vincent's Hospital today after the 25 year old was confirmed dead.

Believe me if you are used to computer and may be something happened you lost it or it got damaged, and you are not the type that love staying without looking at Electronic devices and playing with it, at the same time you don’t have the money to buy a new one, but you have a mobile phone, most of the things that would be coming into your mind would be how to convert that your phone to a PC. Even if you have a computer there will be sometimes where you just wish your phone has some features in Desktop platform. To be sincere I have been into this and Google will tell you that most of my search keywords then looks like (How to download youtube videos with Phone, How to read PDF files with phones, How to open MSWORD files .doc(x), How to open HTML files on phone, e.t.c) and even silly searches like (How to install Photoshop in my phone, How to make video calls with my phone, How to play PlayStation Games in my phone, even How to install windows XP in my phone, e.t.c)…lolz..Well you don’t have to blame me then because I know am not the only person in that business…You might have thought or even done something worst than mine…hehehe… I learnt something anywhere. I was able to figure out one of the good questions I asked Google then and will be very happy to share it with you guys. But come to think of it, I could have solved most of the other funny side of the questions I asked Google then if am still broke… True/False…false abeg … I love talking please forgive me but in this tutorial I will be showing you how to design a website from scratch with just your mobile phone.

Requirements:

Mobile Phone – (Any Symbian phone(S60), Smart Phones, android phones) mine was Nokia E63

Preferred: phones with Querty Keypad like E63, E72, N92, even java phones like Asha series. E.t.c.

Applications –(Lightnotepad or any mobile text editor with “SAVE AS” feature, X-plorer or any other file manager of your choice)

Browser Any phone that has GPRS hads this by default . so we use it to view the webpage. i.e the main work(website)

Note: This tutorial is about how to design website using your mobile phone and not how to write the HTML so I will assume you know how to write the HTML so that you are just looking for a way to do it on mobile platform. If Not you can click here to Learn How to write the HTML. But you can still do that later even if you don’t know HTML yet.

Then we get down to the business:

STEP 1: download the apps listed above i.e Lightnotepad and Xplorer and install in your phone.

STEP 2: Open your application manager and launch (click and open ) the LightNotePad app.

3: Write your Html, css, javascript e.t.c and once you are done select the Save As and type the file name but with the extension .htm or .html just the same files are created on the Desktop platform.

4. Now are done with the webpage is now time to view it. Launch X-plorer and locate the file you just saved with Lightnotepad.

Once you are there just lie down in your bed because you are close to the gate but don’t sleep because we are not yet done.

5. Look at the title bar of the explorer I.e at the top of the X-plorer app window or screen. You will see something that looks like “C:/something/something/” that is the address of your webpage you wrote with lightnotepad copy it down because we will need later when we want to view the webpage. You can now close the X-plorer we are done with it. Remember I said X-plorer in this tutorial is just to get the file path.

6. Now in your mobile phone “Menu” select your browser Nokia phones has it as “Web” or “Internet” . Whatever just launch your default phone browser.

7. Now paste or write the path(address) you copied from X-plorer in STEP 5 above into the address bar (the same place you will write www.facebook.com if you want to facebook) and immediately after the trailing slash “/” wirte the filename i.e the name you saved your file as in LightNotePad and Hit Enter or Send…Vuela….If you have been taken this smooth ride with me up to this point then your should be looking at your webpage on your Phone screen now.

You can leave both the Lightnotepad and the Browser open since Symbian phones and smart phones support multi- function/tasking that is to say you can switch Applications by press and holding the “application switch button” to select the app to view. So with this functionality you can edit in LightNotePad and switch back to the Browser and view the changes made. This is exactly how sites are designed on Desktop Computers.

Don’t Forget: on each update you make in LightNotepad, you must refresh the browser for the changes to take effect.

There were reports yesterday that the Inspector General of Police was making plans to 'arrest' the speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, over Thursday's drama at the National Assembly. The speaker, in a statement released by his media adviser, Imam Dalhatu, says he's ready for any invitation by the police. Find his statement below...

The attention of the Hon Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal CFR, has been drawn to publications in the media to the effect that the Inspector General of Police has ordered that he, Speaker, be invited to the Force Headquarters and that he be arrested if he resisted.

The Honorable Speaker wishes to state that he is a law abiding citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria who has no immunity against arrest and prosecution except privileges as may be provided by the Legislative Powers and Privileges Act.

Accordingly , the Hon Speaker states for the records that he is available, ready and willing to answer any lawful invitation from any of the Security agencies on any matter for which they may require his attention.

The Speaker expresses dismay at the unprofessional conduct of the Nigerian Police in the attempt to stop him from accessing the House of Representatives chambers on the 20th November 2014 to preside over the Special Session of the House on the State of Emergency Extension requested by Mr President, for which he had recalled members from their working recess.

Most disgraceful is the false statement later issued by the Police in which they claimed that in the lawful exercise of their duties “ Alh Aminu Tambuwal CFR, arrived the venue with a motley crowd,who broke the cordon, assaulted the Police and evaded due process”. This blatant falsehood coming from a law enforcement agency, that is expected to be neutral and lawful, is unfortunate, to say the least.

For the avoidance of doubt, the Hon Speaker came to National Assembly accompanied by Hon Members as is customary during any sitting of the House. They all came with their official vehicles but were disallowed from driving into the premises. Certainly Hon Members, who arrived the precinct of the National Assembly in response to a call to perform an urgent, critical national assignment, cannot be described by any self respecting institution as “a motley crowd"

It is important to remind the Nigeria Police Force that as a public institution that provides common services for all the arms of government, they must not allow themselves to be used by one of the arms to undermine the others.

Convicted murderer Charles Manson, 80, is slated to wed 26-year-old woman, Afton Elaine Burton, next month, according to a November 17, 2014 Associated Press report. Manson has been behind bars for over four decades for the murders of nine people, including pregnant actress Sharon Tate.

USA Today reports that the marriage license was issued in Kings County, Calif. and confirmed with Dept. of Corrections spokesperson Jeffrey Callison it was obtained in the first week of November. Manson is serving a life sentence at Corcoran State Prison in Calif., so the ceremony will take place in the maximum-security facility.

The bride-to-be, Burton, told the AP she loves Manson and the wedding will take place. The media outlet also notes that both Burton and Manson have matching “X” carvings on their foreheads. Manson's “X,” however, was later turned into a swastika.

The AP further reports that because Manson has no parole date as an inmate sentenced to life, he is not entitled to marital or conjugal visits. This does not appear to have dissuaded Burton from going through with the marriage.

Burton has been working to help prove Manson’s innocence for almost a decade and noted that by becoming his wife, she can garner information that is not available to someone not related to him. She told the AP that there are certain things relatives can do, but did not go into details.

USA Today reports that Manson has been denied parole numerous times, but can reapply in 2027. This means Manson will be 93 when he is able to request another bid for release.

A man sued his ex-wife over having ugly kids and he won. His ex-wife was ordered by court to pay him $120,000 in this bizarre case. This story started out with the man suing his wife because she gave birth to an ugly baby girl, but once DNA tests proved that the child was his, he sued her for having ugly children. He did this on the grounds of 'false pretenses' after finding out his ex-wife's beauty was due to plastic surgery before they met, according to “Fox and Friends First” on Friday, Nov. 8.
The Chicago Nowradio station reports that Jian Feng, a Chinese man, sued his wife when she gave birth to an ugly daughter. He accused her of having an affair because the child did not look like him or his wife. When the DNA tests came back naming Feng the father of the girl, the wife came clean.
Apparently the kids look like his wife, but before she had $100,000 worth of plastic surgery in South Korea before the couple ever met. It is obvious that looks are important to the couple, who look like the Chinese version of a Barbie and Ken doll. The wife spent a small fortune to look like she does today.
The husband took his now ex-wife back to court to sue her for giving him three ugly kids. He sued her on the grounds of false-pretenses and won. The judge ruled that the wife never told Feng about the procedures “duping him into thinking she was beautiful.” The judge order the ex-wife to pay Feng $120,000.
No matter how you try, there’s no way to sugar coat this horrible thing this man said about his kids. He explained in his own words how his superficial lawsuit came to be:
“I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues,” Feng told the Irish Times. “Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me.”
It was last year when this man made the news by first suing his wife over their daughter being so ugly that he just knew the wife had an affair. When the DNA came back he lost that case. This new case, where he sued his now ex-wife on the grounds of marrying his wife "under false pretenses" was just recently won in court.
Some confusion around this story have some people calling it a "hoax" today because the first story came out about a year ago with the man suing his ex-wife over the paternity of his daughter. This is the second time this man dragged his wife into court to sue over their kid's appearances. While he won money because she lied to him, he started the lawsuit because the kids were "ugly."

What started as a mild argument over money turned tragic between a couple in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after the wife stabbed her husband to death.

The incident happened on Wednesday, last week, on TK Balogun Street, Igbo Olomu, Ishawo.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the woman, Folashade Sodiya, 27, killed her husband, Jude Igbinedor, 39, around 2am after heated argument over money.

They were said to have been in a seven-year relationship, though the union had not been consented to by the parents.

They reportedly got married without approval of their parents and started living together two years ago.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect, an indigene of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, had a one-year-old baby for the deceased, who was an Edo State indigene.

When our correspondent visited the area on Tuesday, a neighbour, Busola Adewunmi, explained that the couple had only recently relocated to the area.

She added that the couple had barely spent five days in their single room apartment when tragedy struck.

Adewunmi described them as gentle and respectful tenants, who complied with the rules of the house, adding that Folashade was, however, temperamental while her husband smoked.

She said, “They packed into this house penultimate Saturday morning, around 5am, and the incident happened on Wednesday morning.

“On Tuesday, the wife had asked someone to lend her N1,000 pending when her husband would come back from his mother’s place where he had gone to.

“The man arrived and even bought vegetables and other food stuffs for his family. In the evening, he came out and also washed the pots they used to cook that day.

“It was around 2am that things went sore. I learnt she said he was the first to use a hanger to hit her before she also stabbed him in the chest.”

Our correspondent learnt that after Jude was stabbed, Folashade called for help. However, Igbinedor gave up shortly after.

The neighbours were said to have alerted policemen from the Owutu Police Division.

Another resident, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said when the police arrived at the scene, they met the suspect on the floor with her baby in her hands.

The resident, who declined identification, said, “She had become remorseful by then. When the police picked the wrong knife as exhibit, she told them she used a stainless knife in killing her husband, which she also fetched for them. It was said that she wanted to take part of the money the husband brought from her mother to offset the money she borrowed, but he declined.

“She never denied killing him. But she said he was the first to attack her and she only wanted to scare him with the knife.”

PUNCH Metro gathered that the deceased’s corpse had been taken to the mortuary, while the suspect was detained at the Owutu Police Station.

A police source told our correspondent that the suspect and the deceased had been having silent quarrels before the incident.

The source said, “No one can tell what exactly caused this one. The woman, however, said her grouse with Jude was that he always gave her the impression he did her a favour by letting her have his child.

“She said she was holding the knife that night to scare him and did not know when he rushed at her and the knife entered his chest.”

When our correspondent contacted a relative of the deceased, he declined comment, referring our correspondent to the family lawyer whose contact could not be obtained as of press time.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, however, confirmed the incident.

He said, “At about 1.15am on November 13, one Jude Igbinedor was stabbed on the chest by his wife, Folashade Shodiya. The victim died on the spot, while his corpse has been taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue for autopsy.”

He added that the case had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

He made the allegation at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, on Monday. The occasion was the 2014 anniversary of the International Day of Students.

He said Obasanjo, as the then Head of State in 1978, used brute force to repress the students during the ‘Ali Must Go’ protest.

Some students were killed in the protest. One of them was Akintunde Ojo.

Delivering a paper titled, “Good Governance: Sustainability of Democracy, the Role of Students in the Forthcoming General Elections,” Bakare said it was unfortunate that students’ unionism had been hijacked by unserious students.

He added that not only had students’ unionism fallen from its pinnacle of intellectual doggedness and ideological astuteness, it had also lost its activist steam, become a mere appendage of ruling political parties and a tool in the hands of corrupt politicians.

Tracing the history of students’ unionism from the colonial days, he noted that it suffered a fatal blow in 1978.

He said, “General Olusegun Obasanjo’s government ordered the brutal suppression of that protest. Live bullets were unleashed on protesting students.As we proceeded outside the University of Lagos main gate, I narrowly escaped death, as Akintunde Ojo, the young man standing just beside me, was gunned down.

“Through that incident, Obasanjo carved his name on marble as a villain of democracy.

“I did not mince words when opportunity presented itself in November of 1978, when I pointed to his face and said, ‘This government possesses power without compassion, might without morality and strength without sight.’”

While arguing that students’ unionism had been hijacked by never-do- wells, he said the height of this fall was the conferment of the title “Defender of Democracy” on Obasanjo in 2005 by students’ body.

He said, “The apotheosis of the perfidious degeneration of students’ unionism occurred in 2005, when the National Association Nigerian Students decorated Gen. Obasanjo as a ‘Defender of Democracy.’ Yes, the same Obasanjo who masterminded the brutal repression of unarmed students who were merely registering their displeasure over hike in fees.”

Bakare also frowned on the role played by students’ leaders in the botched third term bid of Obasanjo. He said NANS shamelessly campaigned for Obasanjo’s life presidency agenda.

He said, “In essence, Obasanjo killed students’ unionism in Nigeria. As a military Head of State, he killed National Union of Nigerian Students by brutal repression and proscription.

“When Obasanjo returned as civilian president, he killed NANS and made it a shadow of itself.

“Upon the foundation of corruption of students’ unionism, NANS has become weak and factionalised in subsequent administrations.”

He then called on the student body to embark on a journey of rebirth to return to the good old days of student activism.

“You must rid yourselves of cultism and other self-destructive tendencies and take back students’ unionism from hoodlums and charlatans.

“You must restore students’ unionism to its glorious days. After undergoing such a rebirth, the students’ union must become a shining light to the dark polity,” he said.

The state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, at the event, warned the students to shun politicians who might want to use them for thuggery before, during and after the general elections.

He said, “Don’t allow any politician to manipulate you or use you for election violence. Tell them when they come to you to go and use their own children.”

Latest report says a surgeon from Sierra Leone has died at the Nebraska hospital where he was being treated for Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, after arriving from West Africa over the weekend.

Reuters reports that Dr. Martin Salia, a permanent U.S. resident, contracted the virus while working in a Freetown hospital.

A statement released moment ago by the hospital informed that the late Salia was suffering from advanced symptoms, including kidney and respiratory failure, when he arrived at the Nebraska Medical Center on Saturday.

Hospital spokesman Taylor Wilson said Salia died shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.

“Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren’t able to save him,” said Dr. Phil Smith, medical director of the biocontainment unit.

“We used every possible treatment available to give Dr. Salia every possible opportunity for survival,” Smith said. “As we have learned, early treatment with these patients is essential. In Dr. Salia’s case, his disease was already extremely advanced by the time he came here for treatment,”Dr. Smith added.

Salia’s wife, Isatu Salia, said Monday that she and her family were grateful for the efforts made by her husband’s medical team.

“We are so appreciate of the opportunity for my husband to be treated here and believe he was in the best place possible,” Salia said.

The new N100 note designed to commemorate Nigeria's 100 years of amalgamation was unveiled by President Jonathan today Nov. 12th at the state house during the Federal Executive Council meeting.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was absent at President Goodluck Jonathan’s declaration to contest the 2015 presidential election in Abuja on Tuesday.

Also absent was a former military dictator, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. Both are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.

Babangida was among those who sought the party’s ticket in 2011, but lost to Jonathan.

Obasanjo was a former chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, who later resigned his position over some disagreements with the way he said the party was being handled.

There were speculations that the former President was against the second term ambition of the President because of the alleged agreement he (Jonathan) had with the leadership of the party, including the governors in 2011, that he would only be in office for one term.

Meanwhile, there were mixed reactions to the President’s self assessment at his declaration for the 2015 election.

Jonathan, who admitted that the Boko Haram issue had been a big challenge to his administration, listed his achievements in various sectors.

A former chairman of the Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Monday Ubani, said Nigerians could not be carried away by the list of achievements reeled out by the President.

Ubani said, “Nigerians are already used to this road; the road of leaders coming out to tell Nigerians about their achievements that are not seen. Leaders at state and local government levels during the period of elections come out to say a lot of things.

“We are used to it but we are not carried away by their claims.”

Financial analysts also expressed divergent views on the economic performance of the Jonathan administration.

Those who spoke to our correspondent on the matter were the Lead Director, Centre for Social Justice, Mr.Eze Onyekwere; the Registrar, Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Eohoi; and a former President of the University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association, Mr. Peter Nwabuzor.

While Onyekwere rated the performance of the economy under Jonathan low, Eohoi and Nwabuzor were of the view that the economy had witnessed massive transformation within the last three-and-a-half years.

Onyekwere said, “I will assess him as a student who want to get let my people go, which is about 40 per cent. We can afford to do more than two times as better as we are doing now in terms of uplifting the standards of living.

“He promised refineries he has not done that. We are still importing fuel and spending about a trillion naira in importing fuel and the electricity he promised is not there yet.

“To whom much is given much is expected and we have abundant resources but we are yet to fully get to utilise that resources for the benefit of Nigerians.”

But Eohoi said that when considered from all economic indicators, the Jonathan administration has performed well.

“He had done well in boosting the economy since he assumed office. Look at the work so far carried out in key sectors of the economy which had resulted in creating wealth, reducing unemployment and ensuring macro economic growth,” he said.

Eohoi, however, said there was still more work to be done in boosting power supply in order to increase the capacity of manufacturing companies.

Also in his assessment of the current administration, Nwabuzor said, “He is a president that has performed credibly well in spite of all the challenges facing the nation.

“I have to mention that Mr. President has made tremendous achievements in all sectors of the economy, and in realisation of the fact that he has positively touched all relevant sectors of the economy by making tremendous achievements.”

A full investigation is slated to begin today, one day after a private Lear jet crashed on approach near Grand Bahama International Airport, killing everyone on board, including a prominent pastor and his wife.

All passengers on the flight died, with nine people reportedly on board, the Royal Bahamas Police Force said.

The jet was carrying Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife, Ruth, according to Kelley Jackson, a spokeswoman from the Andrew J. Young Foundation. Munroe, 60, was a pastor and motivational speaker, the founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International Fellowship. Ruth served as co-senior pastor.

"Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe," the organization posted on its Facebook page. "He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash."

Senior vice president and pastor Richard Pinder also died in the crash, ABC News has learned.

Members of Munroe’s organization sobbed and wailed when they learned of the crash.

At least 15 people drowned in Rima, Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, when a vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a river on Friday morning November 7th.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the deceased were traveling back to their hometown, Dan-Wawaru, from Takakume, a village near Rima, when the accident occurred.

Spokesman of the Sokoto Police Command, Al-Mustapha Sani, said the vehicle was conveying 17 persons at the time of the accident and that only two survived. He said the cause of the accident had not been ascertained, and that the remains of the deceased had been evacuated and have since been buried by their respective families according to Islamic rites.

Google, on Thursday, explained that it does not tolerate the violation of its Terms of Service, which include intellectual property theft, but declined to categorically say that was why it shut down popular Nigerian blog, Linda Ikeji’s Blog.

The company said it does not discuss individual accounts.

The company had on Wednesday removed the blog from its Blogger platform days after an intellectual property activist reported the site for copyright infringement.

The firm said practices such as plagiarism diminish the experience of its users but said it would not discuss individual accounts.
