This guy is a FRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUD! I can authoritatively say this become I have participated in several volunteer openings and work camps in different places check my posts https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-699547.0.html If you are authentic be open about the web address because thousands of volunteer agencies have websites, where locations (many are listed, then you make your choice), duration, costs etc. And can tell you that 99% of these DO NOT ASSIST IN GETTING THE PERSON A VISA! Prove me wrong by being open with what you are offering! |

@macroguy I don waka ooooooo, actually we were headed to some rice farmlands in omasi (the first community in Anambra, when you enter it from Adani Enugu) because road bad to the place , na im we enter Adani to go round to re-enter Anambra through the back of the Adarice farm project to Olympic Farms belonging to late Magnate Sir Joe Nwankwo, which was equally set up by the Japanese in the 80's but worse off than the Adarice projects, as all frames and roofings of the warehouses and farmhouses has been vandalized by his first son and thieves, the offices and the warehouses can serve as a good location to shoot the remake of Dracula The bats there are fearful Fiofio, Okpa and Ose Nsukka is damn too cheap in your area |

@marocguy, Did you get to visit the Adani rice project? What's the current level of work there? I was there sometime in 2009 (we were visiting some rice projects in Adani and took out to see the ruins of a Project that is capable of putting rice on millions of Nigerian's dining tables. I saw huge scraps of Boilers, sorters, de-stoners dehullers etc littering the place, with 2 slippers wearing, roger-hunger policemen "protecting them". From the dams, scraps, hedges you will see shadows of billions spent there! Thousands of hectares of rice farmland (uzo uwani get land ooooooooooooooo) lying waste while Govt is busy calculating how much they would be making from importation of rice. Nigeria is a state that is lost from within |

Nigerians shud re-orientate demselves, there is world out there dat is beyond Naira and Kobo. Try move around and no say, the world is bigger than the spot we are standing on. Volunteerism opens us to opportunities, I have been in workcamps with people from diverse race and orientation. We are all born to be free to experience life from different angles, change environment and feel fresh air sweeping through your mind. I have made friends through various work camps (Ghana, Kenya, Botswana, SA). I was invited last month to join them in Macedonia for a building project but couldn't go because of engagements despite they were paying for fare and arranging Visa. They no longer see you as a Nigerian but another willing heart whose hands are willing to serve. Nigerians shud begin to look in volunteerism, you can start from ur neighbourhood, You can volunteer 2 hrs on Saturday mornings to teach kids Maths/English. In Ghana, I with some volunteers from UK, Canada, US, Barbados taught some Street kids English for 2 weeks, the impact was life changing. All it cost me was a bargain N25,400 return ticket to Ghana, the host Volunteer group fed and accommodated us. That people came from outside Ghana because of them, inspired the kids to focus during the period. Look at the public schools, kids are not getting anything out of the system (if you want 2 laugh tell them to write a composition ) one can take up a school let say Primary 6, focus on their maths and English for 3hrs every Saturday, I tell by the end of a term, these kids are transformed and would neva 4get u. Some years ago, I volunteered in a public school in Enugu (Lagos public school looks like a private school in comparison to theirs) every saturday I drilled about 16 pupils of Primary 6 on English Language, Verbal Aptitude, Maths and Quantitative Aptitude from the not itoo nterested in education village kids, 2 of the kids made it to Federal Govt Girls College Lejja Nsukka and Federal Govt College, Okigwe. Make out time, it counts |

Na today! 27 Tractors, abeg make dem comot from my front make I see road! Ask for those tractors in the next 3 months and they will have to "set up a committee" to answer that inquiry. Did I not go to the State ADP last farming season to hire a tractor for a project I was working on in Ugwogo Nike, wetin I hear, no tractor available despite say after paying for the hiring na me go bring money for diesel to power the tractor and "motivate the tractor operator", Tractors has been leased to farmers in the State bordering Enugu to the North (u dey waste ur time, if u dey wait make I type the name of State, proved to yourself that the Geography classes you took wasn't a waste of time ). Forget Anambra own, went to their ADP office (along Enugu-Onitsha Road just b4 amawbia junction), kon see fine tractors, looking soooo fine, no pimples I enter office say I wan hire tractor for work in Achalla, dem say the tractors have not been commissioned (dem neva show am for TV as one of the laudable achievements of the Governor) yhey directed me to ASTRAC (Anambra State Tractor Company) whey dey for Igbariam (the place is 5mins drive away from Anambra State University). Dat place is better qualified as a scrap yard, If some of our igbo bros whey dey deal on scrap go there, dem go load plenty 40ft containers there Only 2 were functionable, one has been hired to someone in Abagana and 3 others were on the waiting list, the other has "some little problem" and if am in dire need of it "we can work out an arrangement" I ended up fixing the tractor with N32,000 for an exchange of 8 days use of it alongside personally fueling it, paying and feeding the operator and also not forgetting his snuff THIS IS HOW NIGERIA IS REVOLUTIONIZING AGRICULTURE! |
