Onlytruth:

This Obudu "issue" is a hype, but it could also be a kite.

In my first post here, I recommended that Nigeria should URGENTLY convene a sovereign national conference to found a nation. This is coming from someone who really wants to give Nigeria a chance to survive.

The world is a different place now, and gone are the days when nations kept absolute secrets.

Someone may be toying with an idea, and the Nayahs are here to scope us out.

A responsible country would have done this conference years ago, but in Nigeria, too many people are drunk on the oils of the delta, and there are too many f00ls in that part (some are still calling themselves allies to their own oppressors) to push for this conference.

I would not condemn EzeUche or Udezue because they articulate embedded sentiments in the East of Nigeria.

The question should be this: Why should such sentiment be in any part of Nigeria in 2010?

So, I don't like Cameroun (I personally think they are a very wicked people, ask Nigerians in Cameroun), but I won't rush to endorse Nigeria, owning to the treatment the country has metted out to my people since we lost the war.

This conference is really the least of the "worst" that can happen to Nigeria, because we don't know who is casing Nigeria other there. The "owners of Nigeria" make it seem like the worst, but for realists like myself, it is in Nigeria's interest that it happens.

Pure pearls of wisdom.

Who do you think is welcoming a snake like you? Cameroon wants Obudu like Oliver Twist isn't it? Have you asked yourself why every last one of the people in Bakassi fled to Nigeria after the handover? Have you asked yourself why they didn't stay if they felt Cameroonian or that cameroon had something to offer?

Fck Cameroon!

. . .Anyways, I've always been curious about one thing. . . How does monkey meat taste? wink

If there are Nigerians out there who can read and have the faculty to understand and be rationa, please read this report (http://www.omoigui.com/files/the_bakassi_story.pdf)  in its entirety, or at least the excerpts below:

12. On February 11th and 12th 1961, a plebiscite was held to " clarify the wishes of the people living in Northern and Southern Cameroons ". The population of Northern Cameroons had earlier - in 1959 - "decided to achieve independence by joining the independent Federation of Nigeria", while the population of Southern Cameroons, whose plebiscite could not be done in 1959 for security reasons, now "decided to achieve
independence by joining the independent Republic of Cameroon" (General Assembly resolution 1608 (XV) of 21 April 1961). Note that there were 21 polling stations on the Bakassi peninsula itself and that 73% of the people living there voted to "achieve independence by joining the independent Republic of Cameroon". (Note the blunder here. By spelling it as "Cameroon", rather than "Cameroun", the UN created an opening for the
people of the "Southern Cameroons" to say they never voted to join "Cameroun" which is the former French territory.

13. In 1962, the government of Tafawa Balewa exchanged diplomatic notes with Cameroun acknowledging the fact that Bakassi was not Nigerian territory. General Gowon was a T/Captain. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun, following the results of the 1961 plebiscite.

14. In January 1966, Major General Ironsi came to power in Nigeria. He committed his government to respect all prior international agreements made by the Balewa government. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun.

15. In July 1966, then Lt. Col. Gowon came to power in Nigeria. He too committed his government to respect all prior international agreements made by the Ironsi and Balewa governments. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun

16. In 1970, moves began to be made by independent Cameroun and post-civil war Nigeria to clarify their maritime border which was vaguely defined by the 1913 Anglo-German Treaty. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun, but the offshore boundary was unclear since there was no detailed demarkation of the "navigable portion" of the approach channel to the Calabar estuary. Then Attorney General Elias correctly advised the Gowon government that post-colonial Nigeria had no legal basis for contesting the Bakassi peninsula itself, but that work to delimit the offshore boundary and
vague sections of the land boundary should proceed at full speed in accordance with the original Anglo-German Treaty of 1913. The technical problem thus became deciding exactly what part was "navigable" and what was not. It is this matter that was addressed on April 4th, 1971 at Yaoundé when Nigeria's General Gowon and Cameroun President Ahidjo, accompanied by large delegations, signed the "Coker-Ngo" Line on British
Admiralty Chart No. 3433 "as far as the 3-nautical-mile limit." The status of the Bakassi peninsula proper was not an issue for discussion. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun.

17. On June 1st, 1975, Gowon and Ahidjo signed the Maroua Declaration for the partial extension of the 1971 maritime boundary. Again, the status of the Bakassi peninsula proper was not even an issue for discussion. Maps from that period show Bakassi peninsula in Cameroun.

====================================================================================================

Now, if you did not know this,  ask yourself - Why is it you did not know this?

Were you not educated properly about the modern history of your country?  Did you not seek to educate yourself about your country's modern history? Have the media you your country failed to educate you about this?

OR are you just very simple-minded, dumb, stup1d, trigger-happy and plain ignorant, someone whom no amount of education could change your benighted?

Look at this fool quoting rumours. On that day, you will know who has the patience for foolish quotations. The simple fact is Bakassi people feel they are Nigerians, THEREFORE THEY ARE! After the handover, we had hundreds of thousands of refugees, because nobody wants to belong to your fcked up country with a population of clowns and monkey munchers. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Now if this link you've had posted is true so thanks you have learn me something and that's the aim of a forum. But you're right for something, I care for my BELOVED country Cameroon I will always do and I know our History, as my country as my own people you claim( and think knowing, and I emphasize on that because you really don't dear wink) even if it seems hurting you it will always be this way.

As for the topic because we are talking about something not even officialised I stand on my position. Bakassi parrallel is still ridiculous because naturally Cameroonian area, Onugu silly dream. Sure you will be happy on that won't you faeb? grin

For five years, your people were homeless and you don't know about it? shocked What a lie!
Why don't you go to people in Adamawa and Nasarawa, instead of bothering Easterners; or are your people looking to STEAL a new home in Eastern Nigeria? Bassa people are more like Northern Nigerians, so why fanning flames to split our Easterners between Cameroon and Nigeria and therefore weaken them?
You keep talking about the politics of the South East and Niger Delta like you know anything, but your mind is an empty void that is beginning to expose itself. How can anybody not know that her own people were homeless wonderers for five solid years? I smell strong doses of dishonesty.

Hello,

Very good questions - The first thing I would say is - Let's check the claim in law, history or any other sources that may validate the claim.  If the Nigerian claims proves to be backed by these sources, I would whole-heartedly be in favour of handing the land over to Nigeria.

The Last LAST LAST thing I would even suggest is WAR.

WAR is for empty-headed people.  The fact that MOST Nigerians are so much in favour of WAR suggests to me that MOST Nigerian are empty-headed. ( NOTE - I use the word "MOST" loosely,  simply from the comments on this forum.  It may in fact be the case that if the entire Nigerian population was surveyed, the majority may not be in favour of war)

You are right, your logic is faultless. Most Nigerians would love to "discuss" the matter, stressing great points and like NNS Aradu, NNS Olokun and bomb trajectories to Younde. . .  grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

You dreamers will surely hear Nigerian bombs "discussing" in Younde and crushing Doula with the sound, "Ogudu!" "Ogudu!" "Ogudu!" "Ogudu!" grin grin grin grin grin

Give me Western Cameroon and add to the Eastern Republic of Nigeria and I will be forever grateful. Ijaw can keep their oil money, Ogoni can keep their oil money and we Igbos can develop the East instead of developing another man's land.

Faeb, I don't really know what's the point here dear friend, I could show you a lot of Nigerians refugees in my country as well and especially during your civil war, so excuse me but just explain what's the relevant point here, then I'll can explain version of bassas veterans which for me it's more reliable than bokks, even though books can help to highlight some points.

My first point is that your Bassa people are hungry, suffering and fcked up in your country.
My second point is that while you are here attempting to split our beloved Biafrans by playing on their minds while carting some of their prizes off to Cameroon, your people are dying as usual.
My third point is that your Bassa people have no relationship with Biafra, you are just a vulture attempting to ruthlessly use our Biafran brothers for your own gain. If Bassa people were Ekoi or had some relationship with Southern Nigeria, I would understand, instead your people have much more in common with Northern Nigeria.
I'm just saying it nicely that you are a demon. grin

Hamilton has brake problems already, even before the race has started! I hope it will go well for him.

I am really shocked that Red Bull and Ferrari haven't been punished for their flexible wings. People have been complaining about the Red Bull wing sinse China. I'm sure that the Red Bull will slow drastically, just as Alonso slowed in 2007 and ended his third in a row World Championship run, when his Renaults tuned mass damper was declared illegal.
The FIA rules say that the front wings must be 85mm above the ground and be rigid, but the Red Bull wings flex and drag along the ground, giving them up to a second in lap time.

Frenchman, 80, freed after year in wife's laundry prison

An 80-year-old Frenchman was recovering in a state of shock in hospital on Saturday after being freed from a year locked in a laundry room by a wife half his age and her alleged lover.

A person passes the home where a woman had held her husband captive for a year
Enlarge photo .French paramilitary police rescued the unnamed man from his home in the village of Arrou, southwest of Paris, on Wednesday, blinded, malnourished and physically abused by the ordeal at the hands of his own family.

A judicial source told AFP the man was conscious and lucid in hospital but did not yet want to speak to anyone.

"The victim suffered violence and ill-treatment," local gendarme commander Bruno Arviset told journalists. "The man ate twice a day, mostly pastries that were past their sell-by date."

His wife, 45, was jailed on Saturday pending trial after being charged with physical abuse, illegal detention and taking advantage of a vulnerable person, a judicial source said.

Her alleged lover and her son have been released on bail after being charged with complicity with kidnapping and failing to report the abuse.

Investigators suspect the man's family had a financial motive as around 500,000 euros (650,000 dollars) had been taken from the man's bank accounts in recent months.

Deputy prosecutor Fanny Floquet said that when police arrived at the couple's home, the wife had initially said that her husband was abroad.

"The wife finally led them to a small room in the house but away from rooms used to live in and opened a locked door in front of the gendarmes," Floquet told journalists.

Prosecutors said that police were alerted by one of the woman's young children who has now been taken into care by social services.

The child "said there was an old man at home who was dirty, who stole food and who was abused because in particular he could make (the child's) mother angry," Floquet said.

The sleepy village's inhabitants said they knew the couple.

"The woman was very strange," a woman inhabitant, who asked not to be named, told AFP. "Some people knew that she had an odd relationship with an old man while at the same time living with a younger man."

The couple were married while living at their previous home in the nearby village of Droue three years ago, a local official told AFP, also asking not to be named.

"The mayor didn't want to marry them because he had doubts about the veracity of their union," the official said. "One of the mayor's deputies married them."

"At the time the victim was already living as a recluse in a room in the cellar of their house in Droue," the official said.

A former neighbour said that "the man never left his house. We saw him outside only once when he went to the town hall to get married, three or four years ago."

Police said that the last time the man had been seen was at a chemist's in Arrou in July 2009.

The man's wife had in April of the same year made a charity appeal in the local press for money to help her partially paralysed daughter, who died of a brain tumour a few months ago
