I am from the riverine area of Delta State. The occupation of our people there is Fishing, Canoe caving, local gin (popularly called ogogoro or kainkain) production peasant farming etc.

As a Christian from this area, can we accept local gin (popularly called ogogoro or kainkain) when the people decide to bring this as tithe instead of money?

The tithe is specifically mentioned in the Books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Every year, Bikkurim, Terumah, Ma'aser Rishon and Terumat Ma'aser were separated from the grain, wine and oil (Deuteronomy 14:22). Initially, the commandment to separate tithes from one's produce only applied when the entire nation of Israel had settled in the Land of Israel. The Returnees from the Babylonian exile who had resettled the country were a Jewish minority, and who, although they were not obligated to tithe their produce, put themselves under a voluntary bind to do so, and which practice became obligatory upon all.

Why is it that we disobey the law of Sabbath in Exodus 20:8-10 and hold on to the law of tithe in Malachi 3:7-10.

I pity some christians. they don't read their Bibles. Some are talking about Abraham paying is tithe to Melchisedec. Abraham never paid tithe of his income or work to Melchisedec but the spoil ( what he collected from the people he fought).

The message we should preach is 2Cor. 9:7 give [7] Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

As a Christian I believe we can give to support he work of God but not telling people if they didn't pay their tithe they are cursed.

Jesus never collected tithe so also the Apostle, but encouraged to give for the work.

The law or commandment of tithe is no longer applicable to this dispensation of grace. Our message should be on given according to your ability or as purposed. Why is it that Pastors are concerned more about tithe in Malachi 3 and leaving Leviticus 27:30; Numbers 18:26; Deuteronomy 14:24.

There are over 600 laws or commandments in the old testament. And the Bible made us to understand that if one is broken all are broken and that the law(s) cannot save us.

Abraham never paid tithe from is daily, weekly, monthly or yearly income but the once he paid tithe was from the spoils of war (the goods and properties he collected after the war with people the fought Sodom where is brother "Lot" was Gen. 14:1-24).

I am not against any one who decide to pay tithe.
But these men God should tell the people the truth and not using Malachi to treat members. But if you must obey the law of tithe then also obey the other laws.
