Family / Re: Leaving A Marriage Because He's Not Taking Responsibilities, Make Me Bad? by fekeoshomoshi: 1:37pm On Jun 07, 2023
Giftedhands45:
I have to join this forum to post this tonight.

I'm in my early thirties, my husband is just two years older than me. My husband has always been neglecting his responsibilities even before we got married, but I was seeing it as he doesn't have a better job and a struggling guy whom we can both join hands together to build each other. I endured everything with him. I have always supported and provided without complain.
Since last year my husband lost his job, since then, he has refused to look for any other source of income. Even when he had a job, he always have one story or the other to tell about his monthly salaries. So, he still doesn't provide.
Once, there's nothing in the house, he will keep watching because I can't watch my two children Starve. I will try everything, even call friends, families and borrow. He doesn't care how I borrowed and how I paid.

Now, he wakes up every morning and still go back to sleep. Whatever I asked him, he don't always have. He's response always is ''I don't have money ''
I am the only one sourcing out everything in this house, I don't have a job as well, just struggling up and down with a business I do.

There's no food, school fees, bill, everything, he will ignore. I can't watch my children suffer. So, I keep struggling without any help. But he eats food and uses everything in the house with us. He wouldn't provide, but he can use them once they're available.
Our house rent will soon expire and he has no plan towards That. The previous one I paid, but presently, my business is down

Lately, I've been thinking. I've never cheated since I entered this marriage, but If I keep struggling all myself like this, my children will suffer. I feel, I need someone who loves me and willing to support me as well.
My children are too used to their father, it borders me if I separate them from him.

Leaving a marriage because he's not taking responsibilities, does that make me a bad woman?

What could make a man to be very comfortable not providing for his family but wouldn't want to loss the said family?

Have you ever been in my shoes, what would you advise me?

I think the issue is, was the man supportive when he had job and what are his plans to get a new job or start a business or perhaps learn a skill and be engaged. Also be sure he his not battling any health issues, his circle of friends should be check too, their influence in his life could also affect him negatively.

You as a woman can never shoulder the responsibility alone, the role of a man/father in every matrimonial home cannot be overemphasized. you have started what you cannot cope with, forever is a long time to go.

Correct it now and take your stand by insisting he go get something legitimate doing and be consistent in it, las las hustle go pay everyone, at all at all na e bad.

Don't pack out, rule out divorce from your marriage for the sake of your children and avoid the social sigma of a divorcee, pray hard, God will intervene.

Hello, fekeoshomoshi

I will like to give this advice to the very best of my knowledge.
Telling the visa officer that you will be visiting the US to learn how a US school runs their curriculum might be a red flag.
1. Learning/undergoing a training requires you to apply for F/J visa and not B1 B2 (tourist visa)
2. Nigeria educational system has already intl standard curriculum depending on the school wc I know some sch practices British curriculum while some schools practice American curriculum, it will sound well if you are a govt official in education ministry going as a team to learn more about the American curriculum in other to practice it in Nigerian school system.
3. Some likely questions they can ask you is when have you be teaching in that particular sch? Why are you going to US to learn Abt the curriculum? Where will you be staying during the time u will be in the US? Who will be sponsoring your trip?
Finally, this is my own observation and your visa might be approve if you were able to convince the consular that you are not an intending immigrant. Lastly, US visa entails fasting and prayer
Good luck.

thank you

hello everyone, kindly help a sister.

I have an interview for first week in March 2023 for B1/B2 visa. I am a teacher in a private school owned by a family member. My uncle in the US gave me an invitation to US to come learn how his children school run their curriculum and come back to Nigeria to implement that system in the school where I currently teach. My plan is to travel during the holiday and come back to Nigeria before resumption.

What are the likely questions to expect from the Visa Officer during the interview?

Thank you for your help.

Asking for an uncle.

The man had under his profile his wife and child of 17yrs. Their B1/B2 both expired less than a year ago, they are eligible for IW, the man and the wife renewed their visa last month without stress.

Now, the daughter wants to renew her visa via the man profile but the profile is asking the man to enter a new MRV receipt as the principal applicant even when he has valid visa at hand.

Does it means the man cannot renew the daughter visa alone with his profile?
Please what's the way out? as he had already pay for the daughter MRV receipt and ready to book her for IW.

Today make 2weeks that i attended the followup interview, my application status remains on "Administrative Processing" since on the 17th of March.

what do I do?

fekeoshomoshi:
Hello Everyone,

I submitted my document for IW on the 1st of March(the exact date my eligibility for IW expire, I got date on 28th of February).

my document status shows "refused" on the 3rd of March, picked up my document from DHL on the 9th of March and was asked to come any Thursday for followup appointment. I was there last week Thursday, 17th of March, 2022. The followup interview went well, just two questions was asked and the VO said my document will be ready within 3 business working days.

I tracked my document today, status show "Administrative Processing" last updated on the 17th of March, 2022, the day I attended the followup interview.

Am worried, because I expect it should be on "Issued" and probably "ready for pickup" by now.

what could be the cause of the delay in processing my document?

Thanks for your responses.

It appears that after the interview with you, they decided to verify certain information you provided before issuing the visa. Exercise more patience, you’re almost at the end of the tunnel…light lies ahead

He said "Refused" since on the 7th of March.

Dampops:
Please confirm from the man what he saw when he tracked his own application. Did it say “issued” or “refused”; or even “administrative processing”?

In any case, he should be patient. Calls or emails won’t amount to anything…

Hello gurus,

Someone submitted an IW document on the 1st of March with that of his wife as dependant, by 4th March, the wife status shows 'Issued' and she received a mail in her personal email that her document is ready for pickup, she picked up her passport with visa on Friday, 11th March. As at today, the man status shows 'passport still with the US embassy', the man is worried because he his the principal applicant and his passport is still not ready for pickup while his wife got hers. Note: tomorrow make 2weeks he dropped the document.

Please, what could be the cause of the delay?

Should the man call or email the embassy or keep expecting his pickup mail?

thank you.

please, did your parent go with their filled ds 160 form that was submitted or the ds 160 submission confirmation page for the IW followup appointment interview?

karypops:
So my parents went for the follow up interview today. My dad was approved but not my mom. Reason she stayed more than she said on past visit even though it was 4months and she got caught up here during covid. Even though she applied for extension. How soon again can she apply? Any idea how farther new appointment dates are?
Always say the exact times you intend to stay from the beginning, the VO said that outrightly!

do update us of the outcome on Thursday. thank you

Qtip:

There’s no option to schedule a follow up interview on my profile since the refusal on 1st, so I will go to the consulate on Thursday with the follow up letter.

Same here, someone please help clarify.
thanks.

MaryAndrews:
I'm wondering if there is a difference between those asked to come for interview on any Thursday and those asked to schedule an interview online after an initial refusal

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fekeoshomoshi: 4:24pm On Mar 07, 2022
Thanks.

Please, does that means those refused are to go get a new visa fee and schedule a regular interview or reschedule a followup appointments with the previous visa fee receipt?

Pepes:
Interview waiver submission takes 3days for the decision to be made if you have checked your status at ceac and it says issued or refused and after 2days you have not received a mail to pick up your passport kindly proceed to DHL your passport is already there I submitted on the 3rd of February and my visa was issues on the 8th I picked up from DHL on the 10th and I never got an email for pick up.

If your visa says refused then it has been refused if it doesn't say anything and it has been like that for over 5days proceed to DHL to check for your passport you might be required to submit extra documentation
