Music/Radio / Re: Tiwa Savage Ft Don-Jazzy - Without My Heart by feliar(f): 6:13am On Mar 13, 2013
She may not have done anything original, but she held this video down, shows professionalism, plus she's very marketable. Don Jazzy is a business man so I'm not surprised to see him in the video, tho I still think he should have given that opportunity to someone who'd bring more finesse to the video, a 2 face, super c, or even M.I.
But all in all, it was a pleasant watch, not hard on the ears at all and for everyone saying the beats sound liked lumidee's, yes it does, but that doesn't take anything from tiwa's delivery, or the mmph factor the video surely has.
viva Team Tiwa, Go Mavin, there's surely life after D-bang aka Mr No talent.......oops I said tongue
Politics / Re: Did Blogger Dayo Coker Receive Death Threats From Intercontinental Bank? by feliar(f): 9:17pm On Mar 31, 2009
@ dayo coker - i dont know how this works for you really. I doubt that your attempt to pull IBPlc down will work, i am sure you know that this fight is way bigger than you. You really need to try come up with some thing that will give you a little credibility. I must be honest with you, right now you seem to me to be some one with a personal vendetta. and that makes you and your trumped up intentions very suspect. how come your primary focus is IBPlc? are you trying to convince us all that all the other banks in NIgeria are void of their own share of the economic crises and all matters arising from this situation? i really think if you could spread your net wider we might actually try too start believing that there is nothing more than meets the eye on this issue.
, and i don't quite get it but are you saying some one gave you wrong information on the purported increase in the minimum balance for savings account? i am not sure your informants can be trusted, abi what do you think? if they led you astray once, they'd probably do it again. don't you think?

, as for chairing an editorial - nope. i haven't, but with all the blunders you have made so far, i am sure i could do a much better job than you have done so far. both in information gathering as well as dissemination, i remember in those days not so long ago when it was said that information to be disseminated needed to be reliable. imagine if we were to believe your trumped up allegation against the bank and also the so called ''FACTS'' you have been selling, then you would be guilty of misrepresentation. quite frankly i see this your mission as a weak attempt at cheap popularity.

, as i said earlier and i will say again, if you have good information to back up your claims, kindly channel this to the right authourity, if you think they'll sit on it, take it to an objective media outfit, i am sure some one will hear your story eventually.

p.s you see, one thing still worries me and that is , how come you know so much about erastus akingbola, his wife, his business, her business? don't you see that it is pretty obvious even to the blind that this is personal? what we know to be ''BEEF''?
lol, in fact lmao,
Politics / Re: Did Blogger Dayo Coker Receive Death Threats From Intercontinental Bank? by feliar(f): 5:46pm On Mar 26, 2009
To start with, i find it very sad that considering the extremely volatile and unpredictable economic atmosphere in which we find ourselves thrust into, some ‘’learned ‘’and ‘’ intelligent’’ individual, such as i would like to ascribe said adjectives to this blogger, would care to begin to propagate such malicious, twisted and obviously self serving lies as facts and not only concoct this tale to maybe convince himself on the state of this highly reputable bank, but going on further to spread said lies, theories and hallucinations to a wide range of individuals, who in turn have, aided with our ever faithful and obviously most efficient means of dispersion, the www, proceeded to spread this misinformation like wild fire. Such far reaching effects and consequences of this barrage of lies can only be left to the imagination.
In effect if a mail was sent to this blogger, it was definitely not sent by the bank’s designated office on such issues. It could have been sent by an overzealous staff. Only overzealous in the sense that the position of replying this gossipmonger is not one of the staff but the designated office charged with managing the corporate image of the bank. All this is in the supposition that the mail was actually sent by a member of staff. Cos as someone clearly pointed out, the presentation of the mail may suggest that we argue its authenticity.
I would also like to point out with firm authority that the underlying facts with which this unrepentant blogger – who by the way for those of you less informed, is constituting a national threat – to our economic stability as well as a social nuisance for creating unnecessary unease in an already tense situation, have been manipulated. In the first instance the purported technical difficulty which the bank experienced lasted 2 days and 2 days only. Subsequent upon which the sms was sent informing customers of the increase in the minimum balance for savings accounts. This was later retracted less than 4 working days later. This blogger has distorted the sequence of events by suggesting that the IT failure was aimed at disabling customers from withdrawing their money and closing out their accounts. I would only like this blogger what business rationale an organization might stand to gain by
(1) Creating panic amongst its most prized assets – customers
(2) Disabling customers from collecting their money by feigning technical failure for just 2 days when this would add no value to the books of the company at the end of the day
I say this with the most respect to this blogger – but you need to open your mind, expand your thinking capacity and use your brain once in a while prior to sending out obviously emotional articles. You need to attack any issue objectively and not emotionally because it appears to me that there is more than ‘’public service ‘’ attached to sending out this obviously flawed report. If you had been more akin to checking and cross checking your ‘’facts’’ which i consider as mere information at this point, asked a couple of questions and reasoned for just about 10 minutes at least, you might have come to the same conclusion that a number of us came to when we read your alert report – this simply does not make any business sense. It appeared that this individual has a vendetta and this mail is simply aimed at causing panic.
Not to overly rush to the defence of the bank, but to ensure that people are given information which are honest and reliable, selfless and objective so they make their own decisions on which way to go – rather than the band wagon effect this writer aimed at achieving. His mail was only geared at distorting information, events and only God knows to what purpose. His only saving grace and possibly the only reason his mouth is still so wide and he remains unrepentant is simply because Nigeria being what it is, one may not be opportune to sue for libel, and damages and in fact anything else that comes to mind for spreading such lies. He may walk freely and use the www to his advantage simply because there may be no apparent way to shut him down.
My advice to the bank – tread carefully before you send out information to your customers, to avoid the embarrassment of having to explain yourself to such malicious people as this blogger. In addition staffs need to be cautioned on the following protocol on the manner in which issues bordering on corporate affairs are handled. Regardless of how emotional one may get on issues of this nature – we should always allow a cooler head and clear thought processes so that we can always make the best decisions. The staff are the image of the bank and the way they coordinate themselves will be a reflection of the bank.
My advice to the blogger/writer – as one who once chaired an editorial i am lost in wonder on your leadership skills. If you are unable to ensure an objective research of facts, little wonder why there is an ‘’ex’’ preceding your editor status. Information which will be disseminated to the public needs to be as reliable as possible. Your comments and view point was highly subjective. If you have a vendetta or grouse with the bank, kindly assume that position and please do not hide behind any front of public service. Do not pursue your personal interests citing other people’s interests as your motivation. Take all the swings you want and all the cheap shots you may desire but kindly do so honestly and with your real intention apparent.

My advice to people who have decided to lend a voice to this propaganda and those of you who say all banks should fail, some day in the nearest future i might take out the time to edify you on the harm of such statements. They not only sing that the writers are oblivious of economic facts, but they are also void of thinking ability – because just in case you are unaware, the survival of any nation’s economy relies sternly on the stiff spine of a thriving banking industry. Your prayers and thoughts to be on the best plan to resuscitate the banking sector, to revive the economy and not make slanderous remarks that can destroy that same economy. We are not mutually exclusive from the revitalization or ruin of our nation’s economy – in so far as we lend a hand to either.
Career / Re: Enormous Salaries Of BankPHB by feliar(f): 12:40pm On Feb 28, 2009
I actually heard about this post from a friend and was quite impressed by the response it has generated so far - some of us have been a bit harsh and quite a few have taken the time to really analyse the issue under discussion.

this blogger has simply taken an initiative to express himself using a public medium perhaps cos - as is peculiar to most naija companies - we do not have such whisle blowing policies in place which enable one to speak up anonymously or other wise on issues of concern to them.
where we cannot be assured of adequate protection why should one give up his anonymity. wouldn't make much sense. we see corruption on a large scale everyday and we cannot do anything about it - down at our level - what makes us feel we can do something about it when it's perpetrated way up there - on management level. sides we all know the unfortunate truth - one cannot take such fights to the legal system and expect any fairness or justice. we can only do the little we can from where we sit.

if the blogger felt he had no other alternative than to take his case to the public - to create an awareness that would otherwise be lost on all of us - then i think we should only applaud him.
if the inbuilt scale of right and wrong, justice and injustice, good and bad is functioning within us as should be, then it will not matter if you are ratting out on your father - FOR DOING SOMETHING WRONG - if it is impacting on the lives and families of dozen others. we need to try to do what is right and fair. not because an organization pays your salary, should you sit, legs crossed and watch as they play chess with peoples' lives. cos tomorrow it could be you while some one else plays nintendo with your career and life while others take a passive onlooking position.

i quite frankly believe that until we get a functional whistle blowing channel in operation and even develop the culture of speaking up against the things that are wrong we will remain saddled with the guilt caused by sins of ommission - things we should have done which we didn't do.

for the blogger with the link to the Argo incident - if the slur was indeed valid - the organization wouldnt have been able to fire the staff. if the staff really had something valid and substantial against his employer, he would defiitely be seeking legal action and not apologising. so let's not conclude based on that. i really believe that unless expressly stated in a contract, there is really nothing that stops an employee from spilling on his employer where there are personal rights violations or outright acts of felony on the part of the employer.

let's also not be so quick to condemn based on biting the hands that are feeding you but reason that regardless of who is paying the piper, the truth cannot and should not be repressed. he may have an obligation to preserve the information he has been privy to, but as christians i believe that we are more bound by the law of God which is in our hearts than the law of man. permit me here - although i have tried to avoid bringing our religious inclinations to an issue that could solely stand as business - but sometimes while carrying out our business we need to look at things not only through the business perspective but also as God would want us to. should we then condone the excesses of a narcissistic boss just to preserve the terms of a contractual agreement, which he so clearly is unwilling to honour.

anyways whatever the case may be - clearly we have identified salient issues we need to address, namely - the influence our employers have over us - as our employment contracts so clearly binds us, our need to establish whistle blowing devices in our organizations and regulatory bodies to enable and protect informants to speak up on various contraventions they might witness within an organization. employees need to be bound only in so far as no laws are broken - as this case is concerned, if someone is involved in an embezzlement - then all involved should go down. no one deserves protection just cos he is the boss. in fact as the boss you should actually be the wiser of all.

so if this blogger has information to back up his claims - please send it to the proper authourities, and let's pray that justice will be served.

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Can You Date Someone You Consider Unattractive? by feliar(f): 8:25am On Aug 18, 2006
i think it is really important for you to feel something more than just friendship for some one you are dating. there has to be the taboo feeling cos that's what most people call sparks. i think it's what draws the line between friendship and relationships. there has to be the existence of something more than firendship to set the tone of a relationship.don't get me wromg, the foundation of a good relationship is true friendship but the spice of a gos relationship is chemistry between people characterized by the sparks of attraction we experience with some one we are attracted to. later people, just my 2 cents worth on this topic
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Test Gatecrashers Are Dumb by feliar(f): 11:35am On Aug 17, 2006
really i didn't think a day would come where someone's opinion would be treated as junk by learned and educated people. there is absolutely no need for name called and internet fist fighting. there's just the need to agree or disagree. cos the fact is this attempt to start a conversation has finally ended with a deviatinon from the object of this discussion. whether something works for you and not another person or whether you agree with something or not does not give any one the right to go and start a fighting session for something that at the end of the day is subjective. so anyway sha, in my opinion, people should do whatever they feel will work for them. some people are not as bol;d as others and so can't do what some others would quite easily do. sometimes it doesn't even have anything to do with being bold, just simply that it's not your thing or your style but someone else may not have any problem with that. it's just a matter of opinions. anyway people, bottom line is, let's play fair and nice, okay. stay safe.

Career / Re: Shell Vs Kpmg by feliar(f): 6:50pm On Aug 09, 2006
Actually i think i can give you first hand advice on this. i know for a fact that shell will pay you much more than you will know what to do with in the first years of working. you'll probably, in fact defintely afford to be a big guy and live out your dreams cos you'll be able to afford it. kpmg will allow you to have an okay life. and a shot at a good start. the down side of shell is that you will not be able to rise as far and as fast as if you are at KPMG where it is sure that for every year with good output, you should be promoted. for shell however you can only move so far and so high, cos the management positions cannot be given to every one. and most definitely it will favour the expatriates before the naija man can be considered. then finally for all the time you would have spent in shell and with the time you have put in there, your value doesn't necessarily appreciate. on the other hand, with every year you spend with KPMG, you have the oppurtunity to improve on your knowledge base as well as imropve your added value. you need to take a look at the list of ex-kpmg employees and their current profile. if you are still undecided about where you would like to go to, think about the normal laws of nature, where things have to grow and the big bang theory which does not necessarily fly with every one things must grow, start small and grow from there. there is no need to get big and then get to a point where there is no further growth. so my dear, take your time but think through what you want to do and your reasons.
Career / Re: How Healthy Is Office Romance? by feliar(f): 6:29pm On Aug 09, 2006
well the truth is office romance is ALWAYS a very sticky situation and one that can blow up at anytime. cos of this explosive nature most people like to keep off. i know some people thrive on danger but then the more careful would rather not. i have also noticed too that most people who get into these things also know they want to define a certain level of committment. i.e not very serious, to lead to anything more permanent. most do not. some do but i know that most do not. anyway on the real, it's not the very best to get into if you want something more out of it.
