A controversial video was spotted online which reveals some sects of Muslim faithfuls inside a mosque praying. In a congregation which is said to be a moment of prayers being led by the Islamic clerics, the members were seen praying and falling under a trance, some were spirit-filled and shouting profusely in what seems to be 'falling under anointing' as the christian religion would term it.



This act looks strange and seems to contradicts the norms and practices of Islamic religion. Some viewers online however termed it as religious excesses.

LASTMA officer was reported to have dangerously pushed off an old driver, he was captured on camera.


A video was posted on social media user (Oladiran) on Instagram, the incident which happened at Iyana-Oworo, Lagos. The old man was said to have entered into a commercial lane before he was arrested by the LASTMA officials for infringement.

Ojukwu fled into exile by plane to the Ivory Coast, leaving his deputy Philip Effiong to handle the details of the surrender to General Yakubu Gowon of the Federal Army on 13 January 1970 The surrender paper was signed on 14 January 1970 in Lagos and thus came the end of the civil war. Fighting ended a few days later.

Officials of the Lagos state traffic maintenance agency (LASTMA) were spotted picking dirt on Mile 12- kosofe highway in Lagos state. The dirt has been littered on the highway as a result of the heavy rain in Lagos during the week.



The Agency commended the efforts of the officials on twitter, by acknowledging their selfless service by preventing what would have caused a massive traffic on the highway.

The Nigerian Army said: "We have two of this drone, one for Ondo and the other one for Ekiti State which would easily help us to fight the issue of this kidnapping headlong."

The 32 Artillery Brigade, Nigerian Army Owena Barracks, Akure, has deployed drones to fight banditry and kidnapping in Ondo and Ekiti states.

Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Zakari Logun Abubakar, disclosed this on Saturday during the launching of a high-tech drone device in the Osi community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State to combat the criminal activities in the vast forest of the two states.

Abubakar explained that the drone, a Phantom 5DGI, procured by the army would assist the military formation of the anti-kidnapping Squad in identifying the movement and activities of suspected bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals.

According to him, the device which would also help the survey targeted areas in the two states is the latest technology in aerial surveillance and can cover up to seven-kilometer radius with capabilities of recording and transmitting report back to the base.

He said, "In recent times, the cases of kidnapping have increased in Ondo and Ekiti states and the General officer Commanding, GOC, 2 Division, General O.F Azinta has directed that we must do everything possible to bring the criminality in both states to an end.

"There are thick forests in these states and that is the advantage some of the criminals are using because some of the places you cannot penetrate them easily.

"So in line with the Chief of Army Staff directive to have a responsive Nigeria Army in the discharge of its constitutional role, we decided to use technology in addition to the anti-kidnapping squad.

"We have two of this drone, one for Ondo and the other one for Ekiti State which would easily help us to fight the issue of this kidnapping headlong.

"The two anti-kidnap squads will have each one mounted on a vehicle and once there is the issue of kidnapping they will immediately launch it, particularly in places that cannot be easily accessed.

"The device is the latest in the market, we decided to go for it with the support of my GOC. It can go on it own and it can avoid all obstacle.

"With its launching in this Osi community, we have been able to map out the vast forests and studied it, so our men can move in. I can tell you that bandits days are over in this state."

The hostels — which are just two — are a definition of filth and neglect; from decayed infrastructure gradually giving way for collapse, to rooms overflowing with students, the facilities are unhealthy for the thousands occupying them.

For a school that brags as Nigeria’s first indigenous university — established since 1960 — one would expect the institution to live up to its name. But, sadly, abysmal sanitation, overcrowded rooms, poor electrification, inadequate shower and toilet facilities are all valid concerns in the campus.

While there are just two hostels housing the male students (one was shut down after it was declared unfit for residence), that of the ladies are about eight, most of them in good conditions.

However, even with the pressure now on the two remaining male hostels — rooms meant for six students in most cases end up with eight or more — the school management, it was discovered, are going at a snail’s pace to find alternative solutions for students.

In the end, majority of the students end up staying off campus while those who cannot afford the cost are left to fight for the limited resources in the hostels; particularly space, water and light.

TheCable reached out to Okwun Omeaku, the school’s public relations officer, to speak on the issue and while he said he could not speak from where he is, he is yet to respond to the text message sent to his number.
