All the indicators for anarchy and eventual revolution are precipitating.

When the timing is right, only a minor trigger is sufficient to set in motion actions that will bring Nigeria to a halt.

Nigerians must fight for their lives or they all die

Like play, the naira is fighting back ooo. Even I am shocked.

Max - 1 month from now, 1USD will exchange for more than 1800.

The root cause of the naira devaluation has not been touched at all. This symptom treatment ain’t sustainable

Even the presidency and the governors don’t trust the naira and that is why they convert their allocations to USD monthly.

Unfortunately, The hasty policies of the Tinubu government with naira floating exposed the currency for what it is.

These knee jerk policies are not sustainable, naira will continue to plummet until Nigeria turns to production from consumption, reduce imports and increase exports. At the heart of a sustainable naira is constant power supply for manufacturing.

Nigerians have seen enough not to trust the naira under this government. Folks will continue to safeguard their earnings in other trusted currencies than the naira

You can be sure the accused is guilty of about ten times the crime.

Nigeria is at a dead end, the people, the mindset, the desperation thoroughly damaged.

The outlook for the future is catastrophic.

Even if USD stops at 1400 naira without further increase, many will die of hunger and abject poverty in few months or years.

Your best efforts in Nigeria will be ridiculed by factors beyond your control.

In about 2 years, 1USD will equal 6,000 naira. It does not matter how much effort you put in, it will amount to nothing.

Nigeria is at a dead end and unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

Politics / Re: Tinubu's Financial Wizardry - Naira Is Now The World's Fastest Rising Currency! by Flets: 7:04am On Nov 04, 2023
donmaxman:
Hoarding Dollars. by donmaxman: 6:51am
You know nothing about exchange rate. This will not stand the test of time. Imagine borrowing 10 billion dollars to salvage the naira. What happens after the money finishes? The debt would have to be paid back with interest in dollars. The only sustainable way to grow the naira value is by production and not by voodo economics or by foreign direct inflow. FDI is almost zero for now. No investor takes Nigeria serious anymore. The currency is unpredictable. The diaspora remittances that use to come through western union and money gram and prop up the naira has dried up because the Nigerian banks were taking our dollars and giving our family naira at CBN fixed route. Now no one routes money through that means instead foreign apps collect the forex and credit your naira account from their Nigerian account at the black rates shutting out CBN and making Nigeria lose completely. Emfiele realized this and tried to attract the diaspora earnings but the damage and trust has been broken forever and this heavily impacted on the naira value. Nigeria will have to fork out more dollars in the future to pay the 51 billion dollars foreign debt. Don't be fooled by this gimmick, the foreign reserves have been depleted. Crude oil earnings have depleted. Nigeria is competing in the same market with the USA and Canada to sell crude. Most of us in the diaspora are thinking of selling off our investment in Nigeria and repatriating the funds to safer clime because we know your naira is useless. Imagine a former president printing 72 trillion naira without national assembly approval and without consequences . Can you invest in that kind of country? Bro forget naira is almost toilet paper or monopoly money. No body that is wise stores his wealth in naira. Pressure for forex is far more than the income. My only regret was even having some of pension and assets in naira. Forget Naira!!!

This is the exact reason I said Nigeria is a dead country. Any sane brain will ask what has changed and how sustainable it is but docile brains like the OP will only sleep on logic.

Maximum of two weeks and the 10bn USD will be mopped up and naira will hit 1500 while we wait for the next intervention. Dead nation!!

1. 1Q23 was still Buhari's government

2. Its common sense to know that no serious portfolio will invest in Nigeria at the moment because of the forex instability and economic uncertainties with the current FG policies.

3. The anticipated stabilization of the naira with free floating has backfired because the demand outweighed supply. CBN is currently urging IOCs to sell to banks to aid supply ..... unfortunately that will be insufficient. The Naira devaluation will continue until CBN finally intervenes with halting the free floating. Dont argue .... just keep watching

I keep asking why people would have to spend 10M Naira just to travel out when they can setup businesses with that figure and fork out up to 30M annually on a 10M investment.

It's the mentality, people don't want to invest in their country, but prefer to splash it on frivolous travel trips

Can you share just one opportunity that yields 30m from 10m annually

Have you successfully ran a business in Nigeria before?

Removing subsidy is good... But tinubu did it without plan

What plan do you guys keep talking about?, they should tackle corruption around the subsidy and let the subsidy be. That is the one of the very few things the masses enjoy in Nigeria. Even developed nations subsidize important sectors of their economy.

Subsidy is not a burden if they subsidize the nation's true consumption. That money for palliative should be used for the true subsidy.

The subsidy removal is a good thing but not so good if you didn't provide a palliative before taking such bold action that'll majorly affect the average Nigerians.
