An investigation to unravel the identities of persons involved in the invasion of Justice Mary Odili’s residence in Maitama, Federal Capital Territory, on the 29th of October 2021, has led to the arrest of 14 suspects, authorities say.

Police authorities had issued a statement shortly after the invasion that the leadership of the Force was not aware and did not at any time order Police operatives to carry out such an assignment.

Therefore, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police requesting a robust investigation to reveal the motives and authorities (if any) responsible for the invasion.

According to the Police, the invasion followed a bogus claim of whistle-blowing by one of the suspects. The suspects are drawn from all walks of life- including journalism, law, law enforcement agencies, religious institution, and banking.

Not less than 240 inmates have escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kabba, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State after gunmen invaded the facility in the late hours of Sunday.

The gunmen also reportedly killed soldiers policing the road that leads to the Custodial Centre, making the inmates escape from federal lockup.

Four suspects have been arrested by Operatives attached to Illah Police Division, Delta State, for allegedly stealing a Dangote truck loaded with not less than 900 bags of cement.

The Police named the suspects Ozioma Umez, Uchenna Idenyi, Chibuike Nwamgbo, and Chiolada Nomha.

They were arrested on Tuesday after the Operatives received a report from one Bature Ibrahim, the driver of Dangote company truck.

Suspected Fulani Herdsmen invaded Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State on Tuesday, where they killed a mother, her four children, and three other people.
