I actually have 2 of such in clearing right now. What is your # and I will call you
Autos / Re: Man Diesel N Mack Truck Difference by FLT123(m): 10:00pm On Jan 18, 2010
Folks,

New Mack are not as good as newer MAN but older Mack has no competitor in the world, especially the R model. The reason is simple,, everything is mechanical. The reason you have a lot of MAN in Nigeria is because we've been under European influence for quite some time and the reason you see a lot more Mack in Nigeria now is that the USD has fallen relatively against EUR and other currrencies, so it is cheaper to import them to Nigeria.

Period!

Toneyb,

Do you believe in God?
Religion / Re: Haiti's Earth Quake Occured Because Haiti Signed A Pack With The Devil by FLT123(m): 6:00pm On Jan 15, 2010
Toneyb,

Let's get into the principle of the principle of 5 whys. It basically says that if you ask why 5 times and you get the right answers, you should arrive at the root cause of a problem. Why is Haiti suffering from "lack of accountability, transparency, greed, lazy mentality and a culture that does not support development" - quoting you?

Better still, why is Nigeria (I suggest we use Nigeria as a case in point because of similarities with Haiti) the way it is today, why do we have a missing president, why is there corruption everywhere, why do we have so many so called pastors and the country is still not getting better, so many whys?

We can all point to the things you mentioned and I can tell you that those are symptoms of a bigger problem.
Politics / Re: North And South Of Nigeria Are Inseparable - Bakare by FLT123(m): 5:18pm On Jan 15, 2010
Folks,

Nigeria problem will not be solved by separation, we can separate into 36 countries but that will still not resolve any problem. It is the cultural attitude and our orientation that needs to change.
Religion / Re: Haiti's Earth Quake Occured Because Haiti Signed A Pack With The Devil by FLT123(m): 5:07pm On Jan 15, 2010
Folks,

Before we castrate Pat, we need to take a look back at history and look at the facts:

- Haiti revolution of 1794 was started by a voodoo priest
- On independence in 1804, the country was dedicated to Satan (January 4th)
- Haiti population is primarily from West Africa (though they speak the language of their colonial masters:French, Spanish, English)
- While Catholicism is the official religion, over 95% of the populace is involved in voodoo (this I think is similar to Nigeria where we all go to church but most people still practice stuff by the side)

Now to the one that really got me thinking,
- this is the first independent slave nation of African origin in the world (over 200 years old), and look at where they are still at. It is the poorest country in the western hemisphere, Nigerian infrastructure is excellent when compared to what you get in Haiti. Haiti is older than America! I strongly believe something is wrong somewhere. I do not want to believe that colonialism or slavery is responsible for this. It has been over 200 years for heaven sake!

I hope and pray that our Nigeria (that has a lot in similarities with Haiti) does not go down this route. We are just 49 years old. I have a friend who runs a charity in Haiti and I must say people have been wonderful when it comes to helping out on the current crisis.

I will appreciate thoughtful responses to this post, not emotional laden ones!

Politics / Re: Shell Plans $5 Billion Sale Of Oil Fields In Nigeria by FLT123(m): 4:08am On Dec 21, 2009
Folks,

I agree that the west is plundering the oil in our country but at least we still get some crumbs from them. If this is handed over to Nigerians, we are screwed, no, not screwed but f***ked. I normally don't use such graphics in explaining my point but if history is anything to go by, then we need to start praying.

Oil is responsible for a most  of what we export and main source of revenue for Nigeria, some semblance of accountability still exist today because to some levels, these companies must declare (most of it) what they export from Nigeria, thus the Nigerians in charge have no choice but to declare whatever the oil companies declare. If that disappears, ,

Nigerian history at managing anything for the sake of the Nigerian people is not at all good: Nigerian Railway, Refineries, Ajaokuta steel rolling mill, NEPA, cash crop exports, etc. I can't remember anything (not one) that has been managed well for Nigerians by those in power. I don't expect that much will be different if history is anything to go by.

Celemel.

I feel you and your pain. The thing is that they are not the only ones reaping the system off. The so called expat must have been advised by some people that that is how the system works. Making such information public tend to discourage the perpetrator even if the government or the system is messed up. There are ways to go public and Nairaland is a step in the right direction, we shall overcome.
Politics / Re: Hoax! America Didnt Go To The Moon! by FLT123(m): 2:23am On Nov 08, 2007
My feople, long time. na condition make crayfish bend.

On this moon issue, this conspiracy's been around for a long time and it did not start today so I go address some of the issues raised. First thing first, Apollo 11 the spacecraft that carried the 3 people that went to the moon had a moon module - that is the one people see in pictures everywhere. the main craft did not land on the moon, the moon module did. Now the moon has gravity just as the earth does but not as much as that gravity on it, as a result, there is an orbit around the moon as well. So if you want to land on the moon, u need to know ur trajectory of entry, ur landing zone and some other stuff that I know nothing about. Before the moon landing, there were satellite orbiting the earth and some of them were directed to focus on the moon landing.

1.One NASA picture from Apollo 11 is looking up at Neil Armstrong about to take his giant step for mankind. The photographer must have been lying on the planet surface. If Armstrong was the first man on the Moon, then who took the shot?
"Everything Armstrong did from when the module landed on the moon must be according to the book. He was the shuttle commander and was the person who must step on the moon first. Two people came down with the module while the 3rd person stayed in the main shuttle and kept orbiting the moon. So shots were taking by the other guy, the surrounding satellites, and the orbiting module. There were also cameras on the moon module itself"

2. A camera panned upwards to catch Apollo 16's Lunar Landerlifting off the Moon. Who did the filming?

"same answer as above"

3. Apollo 14 astronaut Allen Shepard played golf on the Moon. In front of a worldwide TV audience, Mission Control teased him about slicing the ball to the right. Yet a slice is caused by uneven air flow over the ball. The Moon has no atmosphere and no air.

"The name is Alan Shepard, he was the fifth man to walk on the moon, he went with the apollo 14 shuttle. The moon has atmosphere and air, the pull, gravity composition is different from that of the earth. I think you can play golf on the moon if u want to though and the banter btw astronauts and mission control is just that - banter"

4. The Moon landings took place during the Cold War. Why didn't America make a signal on the moon that could be seen from earth? The PR would have been phenomenal and it could have been easily done with magnesium flares.

"magnesium flare from the moon? u are kidding right?"
5.The flags shadow goes behind the rock so doesn't match the dark line in the foreground, which looks like a line cord. So the shadow to the lower right of the spaceman must be the flag. Where is his shadow? And why is the flag fluttering if there is no air or wind on the moon?

"gravitational pool of the moon is very little so if you pour water or unfold a piece of cloth, it floats, so it may seem as if it is flapping when it is really not flapping"

6. How can the flag be brightly lit when its side is to the light? And where, in all of these shots, are the stars?

"stars are far far far away from where the moon is, infact, the distance btw the earth and the moon is negligible compared to the distance btw the earth and the nearest star"

Last thing I will say is we need to start educating ourselves and stop viraling some craps posted on youtube.
Politics / Re: Tax Exemptions And Waivers Stopped - Obj Reforms Being Reversed? by FLT123(m): 6:45pm On Aug 24, 2007
My 2 cents,

It is either this guy has some smart advisers or he is exceptionally smart. My respect for him grows day after day. Most of the waivers we are talking about are to Obj cronies, Dangote is a key recipient of this tax exemptions and waivers. Some wiavers have to be in place to make certain things available to simple folks and I'm sure his team is looking into that.

Le't watch this guy, so far, in my opinion, he has done more to reform Nigeria than obj did in all his 8 years. He is attacking the root of the problem and not the symptoms.

Baby Glow,

You made the mistake of advertising the most attractive commodity in the world of men-nairaland. I don't know about you guys but being a virgin at 28 is something you should be proud of. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. There are gazillion men out there who will want to marry you just because of what you are but I don't think you will find them on this forum. I will advise you look somewhere else. I wish I could help some but I don't think there is much I can do. I'm NID and most of my friends back home (who are good boyz) are married.

Just chill, the right guy will come along.

Crime / Re: Who Is A Yahoo-Yahoo Boy? by FLT123(m): 1:33am On Aug 14, 2007
Layi,

The root of the forex (the dxgold type) explosion that started right after 9/11 is called dxgold. Rich folks looked for safe haven for their cash and decided it can be found in gold. They invested in gold and decide to hedge against the gold using what is called ecurrency. they setup a complicated web of ecurrencies to mirror the real currencies and they call then digots. The organizations is registered in vanuatu, an unknown island somehwere in the south pacific ocean.

They developed a sophisticated website that will fool anybody. The website was at www.dxinone.com. The site no longer exist. It was on my watchlist in 2005 and the organization I worked for actually approved my opening an account with them. I did and we learnt a lot about that through that.

The channels into them is thru certain market makers like eGold, and some other ones I can't remember right now. The ecurrency movement was born. The issue now is that it has become a force to itslef and many more people are using it things it was never meant for. When you give someone cash, what he does is buy ecurrency which is being sold by someone else. They go thru OutX, InX and all sort of other convoluted stuff. and you finally get a percentage of ur fund deposited where u want it. The drug lords have taken over the scheme and it is unregulated. Anything can happen at anytime and you will be left on your behind.

If you got cash in there, do as much OutX as you can. The guys making noise about eCash and e stuff need volume to enable them move up and get thier cash out quickly. The smart ones have made there money and they are jusat playing along until the whole thing packs up. I just pity the simple folks who put their monthly saving into it thinking it will give them riches quickly.

Layi and Purist,

First of all. I did not call you scammers. If you got that impression, my apologies. The main issue is that 90% of those being used in scamming do not know it. I stand corrected, th website is pipcity.net, not pipcity.com as I thought. Now I went to the site and they only transact in eGold. The following link from Damadsuite form of payment also shows that it is about eGold http://www.dscommunity.biz/Subscription.asp.

Deoulu Akinyemi website is about eCash. In the forex world I know, there is nothing called eCash and eGold.

I rest my case.
