I think Airpeace has the right to sue your ass for this. At least some of us do travel by air as well even if it's locally and we know that your hand luggage including your laptop which you are carrying on your person is your responsibility. If you checked in a luggage with airpeace and this occurs, it would have been understandable, but tarnishing the image of a reputable organization on social media like you have done on the concluding part of your post for you not being able to keep your item properly is malicious. A commercial aircraft is a public space for crying out loud, there would be both good people and criminals onboard and the airline is not a security agency to vet passengers travelling with them. You are not supposed to be told (distracted like you stated)that you need to put your hand luggage in the track having stayed in America and been a frequent traveller. I am not trying to defend airpeace because I am just customer who has used the airline a few time, all I am saying is that you are supposed to sort this out internally with them, not coming on nairaland. How can you even be sure you boarded the aircraft with the said laptop? I have had experience where a relative couldn't find her phone and we all went to the airport to vent only for the hotel she stayed to reach her by mail to report the forgotten phone, ofcourse we never went back to the airport to apologize. Pls let's think things through before we tap the post button because when properly analysed you may not have a case. If I am not mistaken, I think most airlines I have used even remind passengers onboard to ensure they pick their items even at the point of landing. Yes if you forget an item, you go back to the airline to complain and the airline has the responsibility to search, investigate and do whatever they can to assist, but any item you carry on your person into a commercial flight is your responsibility and you should take care of it. The airline has not right to harass any of the passengers carrying a laptop. 1 Like |

gidy4u: Thanks once again for all your assistance with information. Please I want to find out, if we decide on a 2 years post graduate programme instead of 1 year, will the calculation of our proof of funds now be multiplied by 24 months? That is if for instance I am to show 1000pounds month for my upkeep, will it now be 1000 multiplied by 24 or still the 9 months you calculated. Also, will the balance of school fees to be shown be for the full 2 years or just the balance of the remaining first year of study. Thanks |

Thanks for your response, but what about 189, do I qualify? Does 491 have any route to PR ? What if we decide to go the study route, does my wife going for a Masters or PGD in Education in Australia say primary school teacher or children with special needs a good option that can get us to stay permanently? I seem to be seeing teaching every where there. Does Australian universities accept part payment like they do in UK? Most schools I have seen for Australia seem to be very expensive. tunlex01: |

Thanks for taking your time to give out information. Pls how can one ensure that he doesn't get sent back with his family after the studies ? How easy is it to find a job that would ensure ones permanent stay there? Can the dependent spouse also strive to get a job for permanent stay of the family or is it only the one that went for studies that can secure their stay? What percentage of Nigerians are able to stay back after expiration of post study visa? If you manage to pay the initial deposit from here, can the two people make enough money to pay for the rest of the studies from the jobs they can get over there? I really want to leave with my family, and I have given it a lot of thought for some months now, but I don't want to get stranded over there, and won't be able to fall back on what I was doing here if it doesn't go well.hence I need all the info I can get. We are not doing badly here, but the question is, how about tomorrow with the way Naija is going and my kids need to have better options. 5 Likes |

Good Morning, I have been reading and learning a whole lot of things from Nairaland over the years, but I just registered now because I needed to get clarification on something. Forgive me if I am posting this the wrong way. I have been going through this topic on Australia Migration and have also gone through the website, but I am still a bit confused on the route to take, whether 190, 189 or any other, but what I want is a permanent stay in Australia. I am 35yrs old, with a Bachelor,s degree in Project Management from a Nigerian University which I finished in 2012, worked in the aviation sector for the past 6 years first as an airline Passenger Service Executive for 2 years, and a Passenger Service Supervisor this last 4 years. On the Australian skills list, I saw Customer Service Manager for class 190 and the occupation details are in line with what I do, will I get a positive assessment considering that my job designation is Supervisor while what is on the list is Manager? I am married with a child, wife has a BSc in Microbiology and is 28yrs but does not have provable work experience in that line, she currently teaches in a private school and does not have any qualification in education and besides, its less than one year so we can not assess for school teacher. I am preparing for IELTS and sending in my documents for Canada PR, how ever I need to still do this as a second option because my family has to move ASAP. Please, take a comprehensive look at my situation and advice, Thanks to everyone contributing to grow this topic/project. |
