Thanks to Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan the architect of modern Delta state. |

THE political career of Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan (CON), Governor of Delta State no doubt, reveals a man with a mission and vision anchored on resilient, dogged and irrepressible fighting spirit for not only deepening of democratic norms and values but also for moving the society to higher heights,. Beginning from the time he assumed office as Commissioner for Health and later Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. Uduaghan has demonstrated an uncommon knack for effective management of men and materials resulting in the optimization of government’s goals and aspirations. In the political chessboard of Delta State, Governor Uduaghan’s further capacity and desire for higher duties effective administration became more apperent when preparatory to the 2007 gubernatorial polls, he dwarfed other contenders to the peoples Democratic Party (PDP)primary elections and subsequently clinched the party’s flag for the race to the Government House. What may however, be regarded as the first major victory at the polls was recorded on the April,14,2007 when Dr Uduaghan swept the polls under the platform of PDP during the governorship elections and consequently took oath of office on may 29, 2007 as governor of Delta State But just as he was about settling down to savour the victory and translate his peace and security, human capital and infrastructural development agenda into taking Delta to greater heights, a political killjoy struck with the gubernatorial candidates of Action Congress(AC) and Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), Chiefs Peter Okocha and Great Ogboru respectively vehemently objecting to the Uduaghan mandate as they went to the Election Petition Tribunal seeking the invalidation of the polls. As unsettling as this could be,Dr.Uduaghan in his usual stoic and dogged philosophy anchored on the firm and irrevocable belief that winners never quit, went through this and other legal battles exhibiting courage and patriotism that saw him emerging victorious. For Chief Okocha the election must be struck down on the grounds that he was unlawfully excluded from the race, while Chief Ogboru insisted that the conduct of the election and the subsequent declaration of Dr. Uduaghan as winner could not stand since according to him, the entire exercise was fundamentally flawed. Okocha’s argument held no attraction for the Justice B.S Mohamed led tribunal as the case was dismissed. The AC candidate seeing the futility of his case tactically withdrew from the political battle while Chief Ogboru continued the fight. However, Ogboru’s allegations that there were no election materials as well as election not taking place in parts of the state could not sail through as the tribunal wasted no time in rejecting his claims. But Chief Ogboru kept fighting through series of litigations from appeal up to Supreme Court and however, losing all. He finally approached the Supreme Court to overrule itself with respect to the April 2011 governorship election won by governor Uduaghan. This battle however, did not also yield the fruits, which the DPP and its gubernatorial candidate sought to harvest. . Despite these odds, the Uduaghan administration trudged on and today, Delta State has continued to benefit from the reservoir of the sagacity, adroit managerial skills and robust delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people by the Uduaghan’s administration. Landmark infrastructural facilities including roads, electricity free primary and secondary education, free health care services particularly the maternal and child health care, as well as bursary and scholarship awards robust repositioning of tertiary education, the record breaking achievements of the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara have continued to demonstrate the capacity of the Uduaghan administration to taking Delta and Deltans to higher heights. |

UDUAGHAN achievement for the past 5 years are too numerous to mention, it is on record that Delta state has government has the best transport system in the country, even Lagos state government are has even come to seek advise from the commissioner for transport on how to go about theirs. So who ever ask this question should take a walk round the state to see things for him self. |

Who is free of blame? When will you people learn to show appreciation? He who is not grateful in little will not be grateful in much. He that has ear let him hear what the spirit is saying to the church. |

This is pure lie, no government official will say this more less the governor of the state. Try another means this one will not work. Cheap propaganda. |

Deltans can manage their funds very well and we don't need any person or group of persons to manage our fund. Why is this case still lingering? EFCC said that the money belong to Delta state government and Ibori the former governor wanted to use the money to bribe the former EFCC boss Nuhu Ribadu and he refuses, to me the best thing to do is to refund the said money to the good people and government of Delta state. To this extent I strongly believe that the anti graft agency is not been far to Delta state. Similar cases has happened in time past and the money was return to their various state without proceeding to court of law, why is Delta state different? Is Delta not part of Nigeria? |

Little did the Internally Displace Persons know that the governor cares about them so much even in trying moment of their lives when all their resources has been washed away by the flood disaster. The governor take his time to celebrate his 58th birthday with them in their various camp across the state. Many Deltans thought that the governor will celebrate his birthday as usual with the political gurus and CEOs but it was a different ball game when the the governor Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan ( CON ) in company of his help mate Deaconness Roli S. Uduaghan and members of the state executive councils, Believers council members and Deltans at large follows the governor's convoy the first relief camp at Illah close to Asaba where the governor his wife and the IDPS cut the governors birthday cake. With this act, the IDPS then know the extent the governor cares about them. All who has not been opportune to seen the governor before now and been listening to rumors that the governor is a very wicked man, now have a rethink because that saying goes thus that SEEN IS BELIEVING. Once again Happy Birthday Asamegor. The Executive governor of Delta state Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan ( CON ). |
