There is power here. I only only attest to what I'm seeing

How can you say theres no hope when you are going through economic reforms

You dont make bogus predictions about the future, even if you were such of what to happen(You can never be too sure)

You can be reasonable oppositions and still make realistic statement

God Bless PBAT

Wonderful reforms.. no wonder they are saying be patient. The reform may take extra 3 years what do I know๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I know for sure,no American President can entertain a drug lord whose records are known to them.

They surreptitiously avoid him at all cost because of what they stand for.

No wonder he is always running to India,China and Dubai.

Something should happen if it is going to happen.

I recently learnt that the invitation xi Jinping made to tinubu was also done to over 50 African president. I wonder why our media kept that part quiet

Please and please ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ I am not for taking off subsidy. I am against the subsidy removal.

There are other ways or better options than removal of the subsidy.

Even this palliative they are giving, I am against it. I will rather they provide buses with cheap source of energy and reduced fares

So why did you make such statement at first.. are you sure you are aware of what you said earlier?

Please you guys should take sentiment aside and reason properly

The country needs to be more productive and how ever he does is what I don't know. He took that job so he should do the needful.

The dangote refinery everyone is eager to see came up stream but it has gone into abyss. We don't even know if it is a good thing or bad.

It seems to me there's a deliberate act to keep Nigerians impoverished.

VeeVeeMyLuv:

My friend you are missing the point
There's no need for all these insults
the main job of every government is the welfare and security of the people

Another major responsibility of every government is regulation

Regulation consists of requirements the government imposes on private firms and individuals to achieve government's purposes. These include better and cheaper services and goods, protection of existing firms from โ€œunfairโ€ (and fair) competition, cleaner water and air, and safer workplaces and products.

Now I want you to use this comment you made to tell me how taking off the subsidy will make what you said work?

Sadistic being.

Like I said you are a foolish human being. Your brain is not functional cos if it is you can't tell me tinubu is smarter than United States or United Kingdom or China. What the hell are you even talking about. Taking off all the subsidy is smart move? what an idiot. Now tell me the essence of governance?

Politics / Re: How Much Does Dangote Pay In Taxes And How Much Does Lagos Generate From Alaba? by Funkyswagzz(m): 11:21am On Sep 08
Goodvibes007:
Alaba markets traders pay extremely little tax. They keep two bank accounts. You go to buy a TV, they give you a private account to pay into. You go buy oraimo cord, they give you their business account to pay into.

Large cooperation drives the economy of states and countries. This is common knowledge.

Bro alaba international market generates over 4 billion dollars every year are you trying to tell me they are not being taxed very well. Do you have any idea how much it takes to clear goods from the wharf? How you people even reason. Also are you telling me they don't pay monthly tax to government every year. Do you even know the amount of Chinese companies alaba has attracted to Lagos state. If you say all these things are little then you need to get your brain checked. Google is your friend make some research

I was actually expecting everyone to be happy about it but everywhere is silent meaning there's something fishy going on between dangote and nnpc. My concern is why are the northern elites not backing up dangote to make sure everything goes well since they are more visible in the government. I believe there's something greater we don't know cos how would you increase fuel price when dangote refinery has come up stream and there's this tussle of who to fix fuel price.

I believe we all should support dangote to win this battle for our own benefit

nairalanda1:

I believe that APC should have been voted out this last election (and in fact, APC would have lost the election if not for the division in the opposition)...but if your preferred candidate won, the same thing would have played out.

The problem is years of subsidising fuel have contributed to a massive debt problem for Nigeria. Keeping fuel below its production cost for years has meant years of deficit budgets and more deficit budgets.....meaning as at August 2022, we were spending 90% of our revenue on debt servicing.

A graded removal of fuel subsidy as some were proposing would have still left us in more debt (and tinubu is doing the same thing).

At the end, we should have removed subsidy in 2012. Even earlier.

Bros Nigeria is not productive. Look at these keys issues: the palm oil we use to export was stopped, the ajokuta steel plant was never completed, the refineries stopped operation, and most importantly we do not generate enough electricity. If these four issues I mentioned are resolved Nigeria will be at a better place. We are our own problem stop talking about removing fuel subsidy other countries do pay subsidy. Taking off subsidy is like running away from your problems because you are too lazy to solve it.

Even the gold and other minerals mined in the north do not reflect on our federal coffers.
