Salewa97:
The price of petrol in Nigeria is still one of the lowest in the world.

The only difference is that we are not subsidizing it for now which is not a bad thing.

The money that would have been used for subsidy is being channeled into infrastructure development

Oga name the infrastructure and it impact in the country

this guy sef. So if you measure by barrel, won't you divide the barrel by the number of litres that make a barrel? Nawa for you. You tire me.

Bro you have knowledge of how subsidy work.. I have been waiting for you to educate me but you ended up attacking my opinion without making any contribution. You don't even have a slightest idea of this subsidy we are discussing. Go do research and understand better, try educate yourself please. If you can't learn from someone that can educate you. Stop trying to play smart

I knew this would happen. If dangote is a patriot be should disclose how much he sell his fuel

$3 per litre? Bros fear God na. You can't even do simple Google search to save yourself.

Per barrel not litre. You don't refine oil per litre thats a dumb question

you are just talking subsidy here nd subsidy there. My question remains.. What is the cost of producing a litre of petrol?

Secondly, are you telling me the govt of Buhari paid over #500 to subsidise a litre of petrol it sold at #160 per litre?

Lol cost of production range from $3 to $43 depending on the type of oil you are refining be it light or heavy oil. So what do you want to do with this information
Politics / Re: FG, Dangote Reach Agreement On Petrol Supply, Lifting Begins Tomorrow by Funkyswagzz(m): 4:38pm On Sep 14
Mandate1:
my question is, how much does the Buhari govt pay to subsidise a litre of fuel?

Bro you asking the wrong questions, look the reason fuel subsidy is paid is to make sure your country maintain a steady price of pms and also control the environmental hazards of fusel fuel. The higher the price of crude oil per barrel the higher the subsidy you pay. So for you maintain a steady or moderate price you pay for subsidy according to your exchange rate as we've witnessed in Nigeria over the passed years.

Now looking at the case of dangote refinery the government could still pay subsidy to bring the price a little but the good news is dangote refinery is in Nigeria so all possible transactions won't go through the petro dollar. What this means is that Nigeria will have a negotiating term with dangote refinery to find a balance on pms demand and supply. The question is will dangote refinery or nnpc reflect on the volatility of crude oil to price of pms or will nnpc pay the difference to stabilise the pump price?
Politics / Re: FG, Dangote Reach Agreement On Petrol Supply, Lifting Begins Tomorrow by Funkyswagzz(m): 12:20pm On Sep 14

smile.

What is the production cost of litre of fuel from the refinery? I don't mean cost of importation and tax.

I neva said subsidy cannot be paid even if we produce locally. I only said the Nigerian subsidy is as a result of importation cost and not the actual cost of production.

If we are to hΓ³ by the current fuel price, are you telling me that Buhari paid over 500 to subsidise a litre of petrol?

Bros i wish I can drop a voice note for you and explain everything properly. Fuel subsidy varies and it also depend on the cost of crude oil per barrel. The only time subsidy won't be paid to anyone is when the port harcourt refinery, warri refinery starts working. Do you even know how much it takes to make fossil fuel environmentally friendly? Do you know that nnpc would prefer to sell crude oil than refine it?
Politics / Re: FG, Dangote Reach Agreement On Petrol Supply, Lifting Begins Tomorrow by Funkyswagzz(m): 11:39am On Sep 14

you're wrong sir. There's nothing like international price for a commodity produced locally. You can't be using international price for a commodity you have comparative and absolutely advantage above others.

Subsidy in Nigeria is as a result of buying fuel at the International market while abandoning our refinery.

Now that we have Dangote refinery, international market price holds no water. We only pay for the cost of extracting raw crude and refining at Dangote refinery. FG does not need to subsidise anything again.

You only pay subsidy for a commodity that is too expensive to produce or not produced at all in you country. Nigerians have no reason buying fuel above 300 with Dangote refinery in place. #300 is even too expensive.

Oga please with all due respect you are confusing yourself please go do a little research even Russia that has oil pay subsidy to there refineries to keep the price of fuel down.

but why? What do you understand by subsidy?

the government fixes the price of petrol for consumers below the international price and uses government resources to pay for the difference that is fuel subsidy
Politics / How Much Do You Think Dangote Should Sell Petrol by Funkyswagzz(m): 10:25am On Sep 14
Since 2013 when dangote wanted to build this refinery I was so excited about it. After all said and done the refinery is now a reality. But over the pasted few weeks the back and forth between nnpc and dangote refinery has really demoralised me including the rapid increase in price of petrol. What I understand is that the federal government is trying to determine price control in order to set a margin for profit by nnpc. Through my research and calculation, if dangote is being fair he can't sell petrol to nnpc more than 900 per litre. So without federal government paying any form of subsidy we should buy petrol somewhere between 900 to 1000 per litre. Clearly we are being tested to see if we can accept this current price and everyone is keeping quiet. That means if any further increase we will accept it.

If this fuel is sold below 1000 its honest tho the price can't go less than 900 without subsidy

Hard to say. What will be the basis of the ranking? Each PM or leader is confronted by a different set of circumstances or conditions. The times and the seasons are not the same for any two leaders - particularly since you have set up such a wide time band (from the early 19th century to date). Some people would consider the British PM during WWII to be the 'best'. Some wouldn't.

A more productive discussion would be to ask whether she was a consequential PM. The answer to that question would be a definite 'yes'. But she was an extremely polarizing figure and she still is, even today. Was she 'good' for Britain? The British themselves say both yes and no. Those on the right often venerate her while those on the left often demonize her.

Her legacy was a mixed bag.

Bro after Churchill I think Margret Thatcher was next in line. You simple laying opinion but I'm giving you facts

grin

This simply isn't true.

Just like Reagan of the US, she had her supporters and she also had her critics (many of them).

At the early 19th century till date who would you say is the best prime minister?

Throwback:

You must be the new generation I was referring to, that came to enjoy the later rewards of her reforms, unlike those who suffered the immediate consequences of the execution.

I corrected you on that notion of her being hated which is a wrong narrative. Besides Britain already had a platform that already work what Thatcher did was to make some adjustments and fight for the people to have equal right whereas tinubu is suppressing people's opinion by taking them to court and charge them with treason. If you are putting up reforms to make the country better you don't over tax to the point of death but it should be a gradual process. As we speak there is super inflation that is not backed up with productivity. He is more like a tax collector with zero knowledge on production. You have to balance what you are doing cos Nigeria has a population of over 200 million people. Please ask your president not to starve us to death

Throwback:
Very painful indeed.

The UK also endured very painful reforms under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s, and most who felt the pinch still hated her even up till she died.

However, the new generation of Britons enjoyed a better UK that her reforms enabled.

Margaret Thatcher was loved and remember for fighting for equal right of everyone.. she was regarded as the best prime minister UK ever had
