Politics / Re: Era Of Buying Fuel At N750 Per Liter Over – Nigerian Govt by gare(f): 6:02am On Jul 23
adenigga:

The Nigerian government said the era of buying Premium Motor Spirit, known as fuel between N750 to N1000 per liter, is over as it will commission 30,000 Compressed Natural Gas powered vehicles in the next 90 days.

The Project Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, Michael Oluwagbemi, disclosed this during the Park to Park CNG Mobilisation program held at the Ojota Park in Lagos on Saturday.

He said the initiative is expected to gulp N36 billion for 30,000 CNG conversion kits for distribution free of charge nationwide within the period.

The kits and the conversion costs were valued at the rate of N1.2m per vehicle, making a total of N36bn within the next three months.

He stressed that the move was to ensure the adoption of CNG as an alternative fuel for transportation.

“Today, we are here with conversion kits. We have bought over 30,000 of these kits, mainly for distribution in the next 90 days.

“The President has told us that this is not just to end with 30,000 kits, the target is one million kits. We want to make sure all of you can benefit from this government initiative,” he stated.

“The era of buying N750, N800, or N1,000/liter fuel is over. We are not doing that again. We will start using the gas under our feet so that we can buy it at N230/kg,” he stated.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had ordered all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to procure CNG-powered vehicles as palliative to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

He is asking for an advantage, which sounds a little entitled. If he buys crude in USA or Brazil he has to pay tankers shipping fees to Nigeria, He has to import charges at the port authority, he has to pay taxes to the government. So a little $5 Extra is still a good deal if sourced locally.

If i buy a goat in katsina for 30k naira and ship it to lagos to sell it. If i meet someone in Lagos raising goats. If he tells you to pay 35k naira to buy the goats in Lagos. You cant be complaining that you buy it in Katsina for 30k naira......He has to add something, its business. If you do not want to buy, travel all the way to katsina by yourself to purchase it yourself.

The refineries in this countries do you know how much they buy their crude? I believe if the freighting fee is out and he gets his crude at the normal open prices then his by products will be cheap for us to buy

Why is he being a cry baby.
He has a refinery. Let him buy crude in the open market, we are not giving him access to Nigerian crude. That Nigerian crude belongs to 300 million Nigerians.
He can source his crude and if he comes to the market with good price diesel and petrol, we will buy from him. If not he is free to sell to the highest bidder.
As a country of 300 million one man cannot be taking limestone to make cement and now wants access to crude oil easy peezy.

He is not asking for free crude, he is asking for the same price sold in the international market, the IOC are asking for $5 extra, Nigerians should rally round him to ensure he gets the crude at the same price sold in the open market, because if he has to import and get crude which he is presently doing would increase the price of PMS and other products. He is not crying but Nigeria is only showing to the world that business can't be done well in Nigeria if we can't treat our own like this

The rest of us in Nigeria, did we come to this world to serve Dangote ?

He is hitting 70, only you the sell cement to the whole country.

Only you want to sell diesel and petrol to the whole country.

At the rate we are going we have to pray for him not to enter water and oxygen business.

I get it, he is an avid business man, but the optics do not look good. Especially knowing fully well some of the money used to build that refinery was definitely sourced from Nigerian coffers through Elemiefiele (former CBN governor).

If he is not expecting any concessions from Nigerian crude Oil, let him buy international crude and sell Petrol to international community or have Nigerian government buy from him.

Do you really thing Asiwaju invested over billion of dollars to win election, just to hand over the crown jewel of Nigerian economy(Petrol procurement) to Dangote, just like that.

Playing devils advocate: Land is Lagos, Crude oil is Niger delta, Capital for financing was most likely Emelefiele sourced, Refinery Pollution is Lagos, Owner Kano.

There is no country in the world with its energy tied to 1 single individual

PROFITS 100% DANGOTE.

Did he stop you from fixing your refineries? Government should go and ensure they complete the government refineries and stop being stupid

Brainjotter only used the song to make a SKIT, not remix of the song as an artiste, considering he's only a skit maker/comedian which nullifies any of the "copyright" BS being thrown about. Making use of a song or tunes for another song or commercials is where legal rights are applicable not mere skits.

Don't mind those lazy brains that won't to reap where they didn't sow, what about other songs they use for skits how many have they gone to pay royalty, nothing will happen if he decides not to give, but he has decided to honor him una they use that smelling mouth to cause confusion

August 1 Nationwide Protest: Tinubu Presidency Plotting To Arrest Peter Obi, Says Media
Obi's media team was reacting to claims made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, which linked Obi to the upcoming protest.

The media team of former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has raised the alarm that the Bola Tinubu presidency was scheming ways to arrest Obi over the forthcoming August 1 nationwide protest.

Obi's media team was reacting to claims made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, which linked Obi to the upcoming protest.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that the Tinubu presidency was apprehensive over the looming nationwide protest and had said that Nigerians should not carry out a civilian coup against Tinubu.

Onanuga had alleged that Obi's supporters were organising nationwide protests against the Tinubu administration and should be held accountable for any resulting chaos.

He had also accused the protest organisers of being responsible for the violent 2020 ENDSARS protest.

In response, Obi's media office in statement described the allegations as unfounded and malicious, suggesting that the presidency is attempting to justify arresting Obi and restricting his freedom of association.

The statement issued by its spokesman, Yunusa Tanko, on Saturday, stated: “The attention of the Peter Obi Media Reach, POMR, has been drawn to the wild, wicked and baseless allegations by one of the Spokespersons in the Presidency, Bayo Onanuga, accusing the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, of being the mastermind of a planned protest in the country.

“The statement even said that Obi should be held responsible for any mayhem that may occur in the protest. But POMR can report from good and reliable authority that these unsubstantiated allegations are being orchestrated to arrest Obi, limit his freedom and association and stop his propagation for good governance which they find injurious to their lavish lifestyle.

“Peter Obi, by his mien in and out of political office, has not in any way shown or been associated with violence even in the most obvious provocations. He has always shown, even during the electioneering, that he is issue-driven as he carries on without calling anybody’s name.

“POMR is also aware that multiple attack dogs have been hired and strategically deployed to ensure that Obi does not enjoy the ear of the Nigerian populace who are keen on hearing his voice on issues."

They should arrest him and watch the outcome
