Relax guys, the list is not ready to be out but will soon be out. I have told you this earlier.

Wish you all the best, - in-house informant

most of the qualified candidates putting in for ACCOUNTING, FINANCE, ECONOMICS & BUS. ADMINISTRATION whose weighted average score couldn't withstand the admission competition into their desired dept. are swapped to SOCIOLOGY: says an admission officer.

With due respect, this info is not right, the said admission officer has misinformed you, ---- in-house informant.

DonOvero:

Guys,

There is no such thing as JuJu. its folklore and superstions designed to control people by fear. Purely irrational.

Come on, 'I pick up a coin on the floor and can turn into a goat' was a story told to me once. as a child I was scared stiff, as an adult, I laugh my backside off!

If you are in 9ja, pls beware of where you make this type of pronunciation, let them not use you to tell you 'they' are all around you. Juju exists, its very real and very common. I've witnessed an accident scene where the car driver was eventually found on a tree. Asked how he got there, he said it's egbe (whatever that means). That I believe was juju/

^^*clears throat*
Well for me i just think when your married u just have 2 reduce the way u move with your single guy/gal friends and mingle more with married folks

This also has its disadvantage as some tend to compare homes (like wives discussing how much dad drops), beginning of trouble

Be yourself, hang with your friends single or married and always put your spouse into consideration.

Loan her if you can afford to give her. If she pays back fine and if not, she won't at least ask again.

morpheus24, wait until u encounter a similar experience.

The guy didn't say he vandalized any property of the airline. He said "Due to all the frustration from them ignoring us, I became vocal and demanded answers to our concerns by turning the computer monitor away from the closest Arik staff". Turning the screen shouldn't have in any way attracted such reaction from the staff talk less of fining the guy to the tune of sum of 1200usd (with no receipt meaning it went into the receiver's pocket).

What's bad is bad. In my own opinion, Arik played a bad one there. The guy should get a good lawyer (in the US) and pursue this.

Please does anybody know the procedure to get a new (re-issue) e-passport? Mine is spent (not expired). I understand it can only be done in Abuja. I need info on the cost and how long it takes to get it done. Also, can I send someone to go do it for me? I live in Nigeria but not Abuja and not familiar with Abuja.

Thanks.

Family / Re: Culture, Is This Right? by geogentle: 4:15pm On Sep 02, 2010
Pretty ones, I meant no harm pls. I didn't pay pride price too because my FIL didn't put it on his list and am not saying bride price is equal to cost/selling price. Have you ever heard 'groom price'? Was only trying to say I don't think it is right to claim ownership in a marriage to the extent of expecting a husband's parents to take permission before asking their son to run errands. When you marry, you are joined together and become one meaning no one is owning the other.

@ Outstrip, if it helps u, am a 24yr old married man with a daughter. It was a white wedding with the bed undefiled.

Anyway, I meant no insult to anyone and truly apologize if you have felt insulted, the three of you.
Family / Re: Culture, Is This Right? by geogentle: 7:55pm On Sep 01, 2010
This ownership of a thing self, are we talking of properties or human being here? Can you put the man you own on your will? Marriage is not equal to ownership. And if ownership must be claimed then I think only the man has the right to claim that he owns the woman. Afterall he's the one that paid the bride price, she didn't pay the groom price.

Jummy4real:

Please where can I buy Gold in Dubai?

I also need to know how much a return ticket to Dubai will also cost and the least amount of money one can start with at least.

I will appreciate it if there's anybody into the same business you can link me with.

I'm a first timer; I've not been to the Dubai b4. Kindly describe how I will get there 4rm Lagos as on the best and the cheapest airline to board abd also a reasonable hotel one can lodge in and the amount in dollars per 9t.

Any other useful information will be appreciated.

You can send an email to my box jummyyemmy4real@yahoo.com for confidential info

Thanking you in advance for your swift response.

Hello Jimmy,

Please share you findings (Air fare and the cheapest airline) here. Am also interested in going to Dubai. Not for biz though, just to visit and see what the city looks like. Am planning on a 4 day visit. Thanks.

Family / Re: Culture, Is This Right? by geogentle: 11:16pm On Aug 30, 2010
Why would a father or mother need the permission of the spouse of his/her child before s/he can send him/her on an errand?

Provided its not something that will take you out of town for a night or more, me think its not necessary.

I for a person will not say my parents are no more my parents because am married. If my dad needs me to run an errand for him I expect him to tell me and me to tell my wife about it. Not like Tola pls can you allow your husband, my son to drive me to the village tomorrow. We shall be back before you close work. Will she ever say NO? And if she says NO, does that mean I will not? I believe my parents are my parents and can always call on me at anytime they want and same for hers anyway. After all we all pray to have children to call on at old age.

I just feel its not right for parents to ask permissions from spouse before they can send their children on errands.

Its rather unfortunate that this name 'NIGERIA' keeps attracting more negative stories than positive.

@Bigbounce, I don't think the government should be blamed for the misconduct of Adegoke. He's responsible for his acts in my own opinion. USA is a very corrupt nation but no one blames their government for individual crimes.

They should have banned them long before now. The Nigerian roads are better without them.

Anytime I see the sign "SLOW DOWN, DANGER AHEAD" along the road,I know I am approaching a thieving police check point.

Their world collapsed the day they changed their uniform color to black. It was as if the color of their hearts was also changed.
