Destiny spoils herself as she acquires a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle. Recall, the movie star recently acquired a Toyota Prado SUV and just eight months later, she would go on to acquire her second car.

According to AutoRoyce (a car’s website), the valuation of the Lexus RX350 is estimated to be around N19M – N27M.

She took to her Instagram to flaunt her new car and reposted congratulatory messages of well-wishers likewise.

However, there have been reports that the billionaire businessman, Tein Jack Rich, was the one who gifted her the SUV. Both parties denied the claims.

Erica has reiterated that Laycon’s claim that she tried to kiss him multiple times while she was still in the Big Brother house was a lie.

Speaking at an interview about her sour relationship with the rapper, Erica said it started with him telling people she tried kissing him multiple times when she never did anything of that sort.

According to her, she could recall such an event happening once and not multiples times as he claimed.

She never tried kissing him so she wonders why he went round telling an untrue story about even when he had distanced himself from her.

Marvel Studios paid an emotional tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, who passed away after battling colon cancer.

Following the announcement of the death of Boseman, who played king T’Challa in Black Panther, much-loved superheroes for Marvel Studios took to social media to express grief at the death of the ‘Black Panther’ star.

Laycon has ruled out ever speaking about Erica in the big brother house.

After Ebuka put him on the hot seat last night, asking him to clarify the air on the supposed kiss between him and Erica, emotions went up the ceiling as she looked shocked claiming she doesn’t remember doing any of such thing.

Laycon who was completely surprised with the question eventually managed to defend himself by claiming that Erica’s actions came at different times when she was under the influence of alcohol.

Shortly after the eviction show came to an end, Laycon was seen discussing with his closest pals in the house, Vee and Neo.

According to him, Erica approached him after the end of the live show and tried to clear up things with him. Laycon, however, claimed he told Erica that he does not want to talk about the issue.

The Nigerian government has revealed that the current plastic national identity card will be replaced with a digital means of identification.

Rauf Aregbesola, the minister of interior on Thursday, August 13, made the disclosure to the press after the committee on citizen data management and harmonisation held a meeting with the president, Daily Trust reported.

The minister, who also chairs the committee, said that the card is no more the focus, adding that the important thing is the National Identity Number (NIN).

He said the digital process will be to be domiciled in the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Similarly, the minister of communications and digital economy, Ali Pantami who was at the present at the press briefing, stated that the world had gone digital and stopped focusing on the production of cards.

What the chairman is saying now is that we are no more talking about cards, the world has gone digital. So, that card is no more, he said.

Our priority now is digital ID, it will be attached to your database wherever you are.

Pantami explained that the government was now focused on the digital ID and not on the card.

Now, our focus is no longer on producing cards, that card is only for record but what is important is that the digital ID and if you notice we have started using the digital ID on the international passport.

Once you have the digital ID but not the card, we are 100 percent done with you, the minister said.

During the BBNaija reunion show which aired on Wednesday, Frodd explained why his relationship with Esther didn’t work out.

According to Frodd, some ’forces‘ emanating from their fan base, families and friends affected their relationship after the show.

According to the reality star, he needs a transparent relationship which he wasn’t getting from Esther.

Frodd also gave an example, saying he didn’t have anything after he left the show but Esther was pulling up for events in a Porsche car and he started hearing rumors that some ‘friends in the higher echelons’ were helping her.

Nigerian sales and marketing expert, Ife Durosinmi Etti, has shared her story of how she survived the dreaded viral disease, COVID-19.

In a post she shared on her Instagram page, Ife recounted how she started feeling sick and went to the hospital on June 1st.

There she did a test and afterward was diagnosed of a bacterial infection. She was later placed on admission because the drugs administered on her weren’t working. She said it was one of the doctors that later suggested she gets tested for COVID-19.

The COVID-19 test result came back positive and according to her, the experience afterward was ”Horrific”. After receiving treatment, she tested negative on June 27.

If I had 10,000 tongues, it still wouldn’t be enough, Na re ke Le mooooo! Last week, someone sent me a message and said, Ife, you’re the ‘E’ in extra and I love it.. I’ve accepted the title.

June tested my existence. From the first day to the end! Everyday was a horror movie. On the first of June, I woke up in soooo much pain! It started with headaches first, then body pains. I went into the hospital and I was diagnosed of a bacterial infection.

I wasn’t surprised with the result because someone who was also with me had also tested for bacterial infection in a totally different hospital, so I just took the meds they gave me and went home. Later that evening, my head was pounding like a machine. My body felt like someone was using a hammer to hit it all over. My temperature was extremely high, the pain all over was UNBEARABLE! I went back into the hospital at midnight, this time, I was admitted.

They gave me more pain meds through IV… NOTHING WORKED. I was restless, in pain, I begged for sleeping pills so I could forget the pain. Obviously, they didn’t give me. I was wide awake all night.

The next day… I was discharged with a new set of meds. All they gave me didn’t work. I decided to chest it. I went back on Friday and Saturday to complain that I wasn’t getting better… at this point, I couldn’t really talk again. It felt like I had 3 safety pins in my throat and the inner part of my neck was sewn together. I couldn’t talk..nothing.

Then a doctor randomly said I should just try to get tested for COVID since nothing was working, she then gave me a number to one of the centers on the island. I called them, till date, they didn’t get back to me.

I then decided to take matters into my own hands.. I had an AGS Tribe members husband who was a doctor, I called him immediately to tell him I wanted to get tested, unfortunately, he wasn’t on land, so he couldn’t test me… then one of my egbons sent a doctor to my house that night… I got tested with the Rapid Antigen test and I was POSITIVE! My life flashed before my eyes…

Once I found out. I called my hospital… the one that admitted me to let them know, so they could disinfect the place etc and also check if I could get any medical care from them. Alas, they told me there was a care package they sent to their patients etc and asked for my address, that they’d get it delivered… 30mins later, I got a call that they wouldn’t be delivering it again because my result wasn’t from NIMR or NCDC. I wept! They literarily abandoned me.

My self isolation started. The pain was continuous. I had to buy Zithromax 500mg (azithromycin), Zinc 10mg, Vit c 1000(effervescent) 1 daily

Reality TV star, Venita Akpofure described her fellow housemate, Victoria Ella as deceitful during the Big Brother Naija Reunion show on Monday.

According to the single mum of two, she feels the singer might have lied about her mother’s health condition and the whole thing seemed sketchy.

Nigerian singer, Davido is back in the news and it is believed that he may have welcomed his 4th child with a woman based in the UK.

According to an Instagram blog, Gist Merchant, the singer’s latest baby mama is one Larissa Yasmin Lorenco also known as Larissa London, a UK-based makeup artist born and raised in Angola.

The report also claims that the woman may have been in his life as far back as 2017 as she was seen in the background in a viral photo of the singer and American rapper, Cardi B.

The post on the Instagram page of the blog reads:

There have been rumors floating around for a while now of Davido having another child. I’m here to confirm the gist and give details. Meet the newest baby mama Larissa Yasmin Lorenco A.K.A Larissa London. He sure knows how to shuffle these women at the same time. She went off social media when the rumor initially started and have only just returned to posting again. This is her second child as she already has a daughter.

The hook up that resulted in this pregnancy happened in NewYork Mid last year (Summer ‘19) when David was back and forth in the US first for his second daughter’s birthday, then a brief Euro tour, back in the US for Memorial weekend show, next in Nigeria for his first daughter’s hair product launch and then back in the US in June for another show in Philadelphia and branched afterward in NY to give Larissa belle before moving on to ATL for the rest of his trip. Larissa was also with him at the Afrofest Portugal that happened back in August of 2019. Davido is currently denying the baby and blocked her so she has no access to him.

He is trying to save face with the Chef Chi. Ex Big Brother Naija reality star, Khafi said she was raped at some point in her life.

Khafi revealed the traumatic encounter via her Twitter page on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

According to her, she didn’t report the rapist because of the kind of response she got the first time she summoned the courage to tell somebody, as a matter of fact, the person ended up blaming her.

Rapper Eedris Abdulkareem has waded into the recent debate on the internet about who holds the crown of Odogwu (a title given to a man who is greatly accomplished) between Burna Boy and Davido.

In a different portion of the video, the Jaga Jaga crooner commended Davido for coming out to show love to singer Cynthia Morgan, who was recently in the news after opening up about her challenges.

Abdulkareem said that while Davido is the one who currently holds the position of Odogwu in the industry, other senior colleagues like Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Daddy Showkey, Plantashun Boiz among others have also held the position.

Hence, stated that self-acclaimed African-Giant, Burna Boy, is not fit to be tagged as one who holds such a position. The rapper urged Burna Boy not to let his achievements so far get to his head.

Abdulkareem made a reference to a video of Burna Boy that went viral some months ago.

In the viral clip, the singer had walked out of an interview session where his parents were also present. The rapper noted that such actions maybe be exhibited abroad but never in the African continent.

The world has been on a compulsory break for almost a week now due to the now-famous pandemic which first broke out in Wuhan, China.

This unforeseen turn of event has seen several countries across the world take drastic and strict measures to curb the pandemic.

Endless praises are being showered on the medical team worldwide, who have been relentlessly ensuring this pandemic doesn’t get completely out of hands.

However, there are certain sets of people who deserve as many praises as the medical team.

They’re the call center agents at the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Zikoko reached out to Joke, a call center agent who shares how her life has changed since Coronavirus was first announced and what she looks forward to the most after this is over.

MONDAY:
I stand up from bed by 5 am today. I say “stand up” because it’s not voluntary. I prepare my kids for school, cook their breakfast and pack their lunch boxes. My husband drops the children at school, while I prepare for work. All this happens before 8 am, which is my resumption time.

There was a time I was sure of closing by 4 pm, but since the outbreak of Covid-19, I get off work by 8 pm and I still take work home. I now work round the clock. This means that even when I get home, I still receive messages from people on the night shift asking for help in sieving calls from work. I have to prioritize and ask for further clarification from each caller, before determining whether to escalate the issue to the people on the field or not. So, I get off work physically by 8 pm, but I just replace it with working from home.



Today is a rollercoaster because we are working hard to keep up with the number of calls. My colleague who worked the Sunday shift hasn’t been able to go home because his conscience can’t stand leaving us with such a large workload. So, somehow, he stays to support us and ends up working a 48-hour shift. This would have been strange to us in the past, but we are living in strange times.

When I get home, my husband has cooked for the children and I am thankful for that. I am one of the lucky ones who has a husband who is understanding. During this period, he has been extremely supportive and I don’t know how I would cope if he wasn’t. All I do is prepare stew for the week and he cooks and takes care of the children before I get back from work.

I am too tired to eat. I just want whatever sleep I can get. If I go to bed now, at least when someone at work calls me by 10 pm, I would have gotten 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

TUESDAY:
Every job has its ups and downs. It’s easy to envy other jobs from afar but if they tell you what their job entails, it wouldn’t look so glamorous. I studied Microbiology in university; I was looking for a job relevant to my field of study and that’s why I took this job.

This job gives you a thick skin. In a day, you can get up to 40 calls with people just calling to ask if the number is working. Today, I got a call where the person on the other end of the line was quiet. The person listened to me talk without saying anything. Another person called and said: “So, the line is even working. Una well done.”

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has announced the loss of his wife of 41 years after a long battle with cancer.

Murray-Bruce made the announcement on Twitter, Friday morning on his verified page.

In a short thread, the former Senator Murray-Bruce shared beautiful pictures of himself and his late wife with emotional tweets below:

“I’m broken. I just lost my beautiful wife to cancer. She was my best friend for 43 years and my wife for 41 years. Cancer is real, but it shouldn’t be a death sentence – awareness, and early detection and treatment are key to survival. I miss her so so much. I’m broken.

“Our children are devastated, I am too. But I have to be strong for them. Please put our family in your prayers. Like the sun, my wife was a blessing and touched the lives of everyone she met. Though she’s gone, she’d remain alive in our hearts forever.

“I miss you, my sweetheart, and my most beautiful girl, Evelyn Murray-Bruce. Forever yours.”
