I agree with everything bishop said except the part that advises Buhari, if his candidate had won 2015 general election, how was would it have been. |

How are we allowing bad history to repeat itself in this country, over 30yrs ago, politicians were caught storing naira notes in overhead water tank, now hard currency is being stored in septic tank/soak away. When are we going to have a system that can prevent this occurrence. It will not be out of place if public office holders are subjected to yearly psychiatric test, because these are real madness. |

@Ambode, nice gesture, keep it up I thought power distribution has been privatised, how many private companies are getting fund injected to their system like DISCOS, what type of privatisation is this. We need explanation on all these DISCOS arrangee . Telecoms sector was privatised, I've not heard any government giving them bailout even when they have to run gen to power base stations and buying diesel at about #160.00 sometime. GEJ PRIVATISATION IS A SCAM. 1 Like |

The moment we stop listening to the world power as regards ratings, the best for africa. All their recommended economic teams have wrecked more havoc to our economy. Right from the days of SAP (FALAE) uptill now (NOI) our economy was going deeper into the wood, yet all their puppets are been accorded international accolades for destroying our economy, ie NOI said GEJ instructed her to withfraw or spend unapporpriated fund, I beileve thats not only criminal but against the ethics of her profession. In developed countries (the puppetier) her licence would have been withdrawn. Enough of economic slavery, if they are blind to war against corruption in Nigeria, then they should steer clear of Nigeria, 1 Like |

Nigerians will always leave the message and attack the messenger, what does it matter if the satan itself is preaching the way to kingdom of heaven, or how many of our so called MOG has outstanding morality. My take is that Nigerians are complacent, comfortable with crumbles, we 'electorates' voted these greedy men as our representatives, when they start to represent their own interests, if the electorates are powerless, why cant the labour unions (NLC & TUC) come to our aid. Labour unions too are mere rubber stamp only calling on strike for salary increase that will never be beneficial to all, how would traders on the street benefit from salary increase? |

How come no bank has been questioned since the trial of #Dasukigate, since some companies indicted were not registered by CAC. How does such company open bussines account. It is obvious that all laws to curb corruption and money laundering were been flouted by this banks. Some time a bank was asking my mother of 80yrs for travelling passport or driver licence, quite dumb. In another news, some one was accusing PMB of gender marginalisation, quickly I remember the notorious four women in GEJ government, diziane, odua, okonjo and PEJ, l laughed uncontrollably. 4 Likes |

How can somebody say igbos are marginalized, By who. In the last administration Igbo held not less than 3 juicy Ministerial appointments, even Igbo minister was even defacto president, how are they marginalized, are their federal allocations not paid to their governors or their local govt chairmen. Most federal roads in the federation lacks attention, some governor repaired the one in their States. Igbo should rather face their leaders for neglect. After all they were in support of PDP 16years of misrule. |

What's the essence of NOI world accolades if she works against ethics of her profession while coordinator of Nigeria economy, most of these world experts are only representing their slave master in their respective Countries. We should rather rely on local expects. NOI WAS A FAILURE BACK HOME. |

AGBERO A Social menace. The Nigeria Union of road transport workers, mostly referred to as agbero is constituting social menace and serious hardship to drivers that suppose to be their members and commuters alike. Most of us know the modus operandi of this Union which include and not limited to collection of various taxes from drivers at every bus stops. Member of any Union is expected to benefit some welfarism from affiliated Union, alas no driver could lay claim to this. Membership of this Union is not voluntary, rather it is by coercion. The operation of this Union has dealt a heavy blow on the transportation system of this Nation and that of Lagos state in particular. A daily newspaper has done an in depth analysis on rate at which the drivers are being exploited by this Union. See this link. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/2015/04/how-transport-unions-exploit-transporters-commuters/ On the average, a commercial mini bus pays to the union an average of #4,000 while he goes home with less than #2,000 daily. This activity is noticeable on intra city operations. Only one unit of a park collects average of #400,000 for nurtw. This action is having negative impact on the society: The drivers would not be able to maintain their buses adequately, hence the rickety nature of most commercial vehicles, this potend danger to passengers and other road users. Commuters are paying far too much fare for their commuting without commensurable comfortability during such trip. In some developed cities of the world, transportations are being subsidized for commuters, but in Nigeria, commuters are being exploited while Nigerian government look the other way. The appeal now is that government should look into activities of this Union with a view to moderate it, so that drivers are not impoverished by the activities of the Union. 1 Like |

Justice is justice whether universal or selected, Nigeria can never be compared with USA as in this century that our system is porous to looters. An adage in yoruba said sharp knife can not shape it's handle. When obj was attacking looters similar thing was said, one regime can not clean up the mess of corruptions, I believe another regime that will clean up APC is in embryo. |

The past errors has to be corrected b4 actual change is expected. whitch hunt or whatever ever, once the accused is guilty, case closed, we should just pray for proper prosecution. PDP does more than these in their glorious days. ![]() |

Compliments to nairalanders, agric section, your thread and post has been a motivator in my escapade in agriculture, especially plantain plantation. I have read most thread and post on agric section from page to page, I appreciated all the contributions of members, though some of their assertions are at variance in reality at my location in Ode-Omu Osun state. The most challenging aspect of my plantain plantation project has been labor, where the non indigens (referred to as Cotonue) would not do jobs to commensurate their daily earnings estimated at #1,500.00. Breakdown, transportation #300, feeding #200 while actual Labour charge is #1,000 Their mission in ode Omu is not actually for casual job persee, but to cultivate pepper and tomato, hence if you hire them for a day, they'll still go to their farm by 2pm at most. And if you hire them for the whole year, they'll work for about ten months for #120,000, such is not suitable for a new farm without inflow. The indigens (youth) engage on hunting and Okada work, hence Labour is precarious. After expending fund I intend to weed 2 acres of land on just one acre, I decided to go solo, so from planing, planting to application of herbicides was done by me. I'll be frank, it has not been easy, am just been motivated by the analysis I read on nairaland and a friend who has been on the job for upward of 5years. Plucking of corn (less than a bag) took me a whole day, one full bag of corn was priced #1,000 in the market, i.e the corn, Labour and transportation is less than #1,000. The progress so far is as seen on the pix, waiting for Good products, because the Labour has been so intensive.

@EternalTruths: Most multi national companies dear not try what they are doing (flaunting regulations, evading taxes and exploiting workers) in Nigeria in most lower African countries. So it is better they are forced in line. |
