Please going by the response u got from petdaugther's dependent application, do I really need to provide a sponsorship letter or is it a matter of choice? And as regards the proof of employment, was it UKVI that requested for it or they just did that in addition to the supporting documents.

Hi, I'm also just hearing about the sponsorship letter that's why I asked to confirm. I guess its down to personal choice especially if the main applicant is sponsoring him/herself.
Also I believe if you have long study gap say above 5 years you should include valid proof of what you have been doing since then. Hence the submission of detailed CV, employment records, relevant certifications and the likes.

I've lost my vaccination card once so far and my health center did another one for me in the spot(they were reluctant and wanted to reject doing another one but I pleaded with them. Everything is stored in their DB so it's just a matter of reissuing it. What's the point of a barcode then if it can't be reissued that's just silly. Grease some palms and you'll get it reissued. I've even lost the new one a second time and will laslas still go and ask for another one.

Ok thanks so much.

I have a degree in social work and I hope to work in the health and social care profession. Do you think I could get this? Although, I could register to practice as a social worker but I was told it's easy to get a job in adult social care faster than social work.

Enlighten me.
Hi, if you can, watch intentional favour on YouTube. She is a masters student in social work in the UK. You should be able to pick up some pointers from her videos.

Hello House, please I would like to know if its possible to take the first dose of covid 19 vaccine in Nigeria and take the second dose in the UK? Will I need the vaccination card from Nigeria as a proof? What if the card is missing will I have to take the vaccine all over again? I lost my covid19 vaccination card and I was told by the phc here in Lagos that I should provide police report and affidavit. I was also told that its NOT GUARANTEED that I would be issued another card because of the barcode. I just want to know if I can come and continue with the vaccination when I arrive in the UK.
P.S the date of my vaccination is today and I discovered it was missing yesterday.

Thanks everyone. Sorry for the long post.

From day 1, I had followed this thread and gathered information where necessary. And every step of the way, I knew what to do. I will advise people, no matter how hard it is to keep up with this thread, try to. You will learn a great deal. We all can make excuses of not having time. I can argue that I'm the busiest person in the world. But if I have to wake in the night to learn something from this thread by reading every comment, I will. I actually did and I can almost answer most questions here from the answers I got here myself.

Let me encourage you to read. Read page 1 and go back to posts from October 1. By the time you get to October 20, you will almost understand most of the processes involved in this endeavor. If it's important, you will create time. And please it's easy to make mistakes with the visa application. Vet the details like 20 times before you proceed to ihs page. My 5 cents.

I pray to God to ease our affairs and may our desires come through.
Congratulations

Visa Alert!!!

God has said that the rest of the year is the best of the year for me! It has been a tumultuous journey but I dare say that God has been ever faithful. I bless Him for giving me the strength and the will to hold on, take crazy steps of faith, and now and I’m here. Phil. 1:6 & Eph. 3:20 & daily thanksgiving has been my routine since Oct 1st.

Submitted new POF to the University in order to meet a Visa Compliance Check condition due to the visa refusal received in Aug – Oct 27th

POF Accepted by the University – Oct 29th

CAS issued – Nov 2nd

Visa Application – Nov 5th

Biometrics – Nov 9th

NSF Mail – Nov 12th

CAS Used Update – Nov 17th

Paid Email – Nov 19th

Application moved to VAC – Nov 22nd

Collection Mail – Nov 22nd

Passport received with Vignette – Nov 23rd

I will never forget when I received the last refusal on the 10th of August. I was devastated, depressed, and pressed down. It seemed over for me at the time but God said He was just getting started with me. A number of friends I’d made during my biometrics in July at the time traveled to the UK and this made me sadder because I felt left behind. Few of them stood with me and kept monitoring my progress, just to ensure that I didn’t give up and I am glad I didn’t. I dare say that GOD CAME THROUGH FOR ME!

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow here I come in Jesus name (Amen)!!!

Wow..I remember your story. Congratulations! God will perfect what concerns you in Jesus name amen.

UWE Bristol January 2022

N.B: I have a study gap of 10 years, so I submitted a detailed CV and my personal company registration certificate.

I had a visa refusal in 2008. The reason was that one of the doc the agent used for me was fake. which ultimately carries a 10 year ban. I wasn't sure if I was effectively on a ten year ban or not but had to wait for more than 10 years b4 applying to UK again.

Doc Submitted:
Academic: (O'level Cert., BSc Cert., Transcript, UWE CAS)
Family: (Marriage Cert., Children Birth Cert. & Family Pictures).
POF: ( 2 Banks savings account & 1 MFB certificate of Investment).
OThers : (TB test Result, Previous visas, CV, CAC).

Still looking forward to my dependants pick up mails. They submitted a week after me due to non availability of appointment date. I wish everyone best of luck...

Congratulations to you and your family.

VISA ALERT

Today is finally my day to celebrate!!!
Family of 4
VISA application: October 19 -20
Biometrics: Abuja TLS October 26 (standard) (walk in for the 2 children. We couldn't get the same date for them)
Non straight forward mail: November 1st (4 of us)
Request mail for more documents: November 1st (main applicant only)
Requested documents submitted: November 4th (main applicant)
We waited for one week and nothing happened we had to send paid mail asking for progress of application.
Paid mail: November 11th
Decision mail : November 12th (about 20 hours after sending paid mail)
Dispatched from TLS on Friday 12th (same day as decision mail)
We waited anxiously for DHL to deliver but they didn't because of weekend.
We got our visas yesterday evening finally.

It wasn't an easy wait o. If you have money, pls pay for priority because High BP is real o. We endured a lot during the 3 weeks wait.
This journey started early 2020 and I have been reading this thread everyday religiously.
I must thank everyone on this forum for all the helpful contributions. I gained a lot.
My advice is for everyone to try and read far and wide, use Google a lot and ukvi sit (gov.uk) has almost all the information you require as well as your school website and course page. Don't also shy away from asking when you hit a brick wall too.

You can do everything all by yourself and it is far better because you are sure of what you submitted.

Aston University January 2022

Another piece of advice: if you come across any information you feel might be relevant to you during the process of application, screenshot and keep it in your picture gallery. It is better that way because sometimes this information may be difficult to search for when you need them most.
Over this 2 years I have over a thousand screenshots from nairaland alone.

Congratulations to you and your family.
