2. Are Dodge parts easily found in the Market?
3. Is the price worth it? If not
4. What better car can I get for same amount range?

Are you buying to help your friend out or you need a car?

Try get a functional tokunbo car dats all with a small engine like 1.4litre,1.6litre,or 1.8 litre,if it's naija used you want to buy shine your eyes very well ,cos 7 out of eight you see put up for sale have been thoroughly abused and will turn to a endless money pit during repairs,to avoid premium tears stay clear of most naija used.a lady got a naija used car for 1.7 million, only for her to realise that the engine is gone after driving for like a week, she is preparing to buy a new engine worth over 700k due to dollar wahala, still no guarantee on the efficiency of the toks engine .

On the contrary buying a Naija used car has it's advantages starting with huge savings in purchase price.
What you should have advised Op @krebdawise is to ensure he engage the services of a competent Technician to Inspect the vehicle. Like you said that buying a Tokunbo engine has no guarantee that implies (rightly too) that buying a Tokunbo car has no guarantee. Both Tokunbo and Nigerian used Vehicles need detailed inspection by one who knows what to look out for.
Here's an article with good tips on how to go about inspecting a car

Where can I get original ABS sensor? Cause since I replaced my 2012 glk follow come abs, every other abs I bought don't usually last , both new and tokunbo.
Same issue you had with new and tokunbo replacements. Then it's most likely an installation problem you are having. If you are in Lagos or Port Harcourt chat me for additional assistance.

My car engine is making a rattling/ sparking noise like ke ke ke ke when accelerating sometimes when climbing a hill or when you suddenly press the acceleration to increase speed .

I have changed the plugs, what can be the issue. I use a C300 MB 2010

If it was the spark sounds that made you change the plugs, then it's obviously your ignition-coils that are bad.
If the spark sounds started after changing the plugs, then do further testing to ascertain which of the ignition coil/ wire harness are bad.

The oil pump was physically broken when engine was opened so it's definitely the culprit.
Oil pump is an Independent component with its own Internal pressure but rotated by the crackshaft so it can damage on its own without reference to engine condition or care.
The designers of the car put the oil indicator for u to know when oil, (an essential item) is no longer flowing properly in the engine.
The oil pressure indicator switch is also Independent, it can spoil at anytime irrespective of quality of care and maintainance habit of the engine.
It was just coincidental or unfortunate that they both spoilt at or within the same time frame.
Okay let me give u another example...
D car I currently drive has had oil pump failing twice this year.

Just so u know, I use original 5w30 synthetic oil since I bought the car toks in 2019.
.

The failure rate of your Oil pumps is alarming.
Even you should know.
And your Mechanic, if honest should have told you.

Where and how do you source your replacement parts?
Where do you buy your "original" 5w30 engine oil. Only your source will help ensure originality.

Ask others who have driven for almost 30years ( even commercial drivers) how many times they have seen an oil pump.

Interesting perspective

Let me seek your opinion on something. The vehicle was last serviced in the US on the 14th of December 2021 at 151k miles. The dealership put a sticker on it that says next service is at 155k miles or 14th of March 2022.

Vehicle came into the country in September at 152600 miles and is currently on 154k miles on the original oil that came with it.

What do you think? To change the oil immediately or run till the scheduled 155k miles.
It's whichever comes first. So 14/03/22 is long gone. You ought to have changed the oil.

Hope it's a minor issue that won't require me replacing the whole transmission. What should I do? Help...thanks
Get a competent mechanic to repair based on scan report immediately. You are on the verge of swapping gear box at N80-120k

The last change on the driver side was a brisco bearing, not sure what make the first one the previous mechanic changed was. Nothing changed
Maybe what they claimed.
Did you notice any difference with the other bearings.
Compare your original bearing with what is being supplied. You can clean them up snap pictures and post here.

I need help with my car (09 Corolla)

Let me give a quick history. I replaced bearing on the two front wheels, speedometer stop working afterwards and fuel gauge started malfunctioning.

My obd 2 scanner shows vehicle speed sensor A as the fault. I replaced the sensor on the transmission body(on the engine) but it didn't fix it.

Another electrician scanned the car for codes and the two speed sensors for the front came up, he tested both sensors including the rear sensors and they're in good condition. He carried out checks on the abs module and its in good condition as well.

We visited his oga, who said problem might be from the bearing we replaced being too thick hence causing the sensors not to the read the wheel movement. He said I should replace the hubs even if it's one and that will fix the speedometer issue. I had replaced the bearing for the driver side again after I was hearing noise from it on high speed but the visit to the electrician but still no show. So my concern is why neither of the two bearings effect the change he mentioned.

I'll appreciate suggestions on more direction to check.

Long story short, the bearings are not original.
Get to the market, they will show you the different types. Original Toyota Brisco bearings has a component that most of the far cheaper after-market brands don't. Same reason the Oga is suggesting you go for a direct tokunbo hub.

A coil among the 3 coils is shocking and other do not.

Pls, kindly help.
Thanks

What year model? This should be a 4 cylinder engine so you have 4 coils not 3.
What part are you looking for that is not common and where are you based?
All your ignition coils are meant to shock when engine is running. How was your brain box tested to ascertain it is faulty. And you are now considering changing engine from Sorento to Montero engine?
Look for a Mechanic that can diagnose the fault in your engine rather than accepting the one (Conversion Expert) that condemns what he can't fix.

Result is out after scanning
Based on your scan codes, check your engine oil level then remove oil pressure switch socket and reinstall to test for short- circuit. Scan again to see if P3400 code is gone, and high RPM corrected. If code is still present, you will need to replace the oil pressure switch.
For the misfire clear DTCs with a scanner or removing negative battery terminal ( not advised) then test drive for upto 100km. If check engine light doesn't come back then the oil pressure fix has taken care of it. If not check your plugs , or coil.
Follow the order in which I have laid out the solution.

It's a 2004 Camry, not a 2012 nissan. Very basic model, everything resets when you take out the battery.
That's resetting to clear DTC codes you are talking about.
I said reprogram which is about reinstalling the software on the ECU BIOS.

You still have a leak. Nothing like oil drying.
Take the vehicle home and fill with ATF your self. Place container s underneath it the areas suspected. You know such areas by Observing for wetness.
Don't drive that vehicle in that condition or you risk burning the fibres and grinding the drives needing complete replacement.

Please pardon me for all my worries, from what I have noticed so far, it seems that the throttle body is not receiving the required power via that source/socket that you circled, I tested it with a diff throttle body still the same issue. Someone said I might need a swap the brain box, but I pray that should not be the case. Abeg help me out here, please.
Problem lies between the sensor in your throttle pedal and your ECU. I advise a Relearn/ reprogramming not replacing of the ECU.
The codes from your Scan has nothing to do with throttle body.

Gurus in the House, I salute all. Please, I need your guidance

I use a 2001 Honda Civic with Automatic Transmission. I changed my shaft on Thursday, and after some minutes of test-driving, I noticed that the car started having gear shift problem. It will stay on one and delay before it change gear and sometimes, it wouldn't change at all, instead the RMP will just go up. Check Engine Light show on the Dashboard

I visited a gear mechanic, he said it was because the shaft was removed while the engine was still hot. When he scanned, he saw two Error code; one was P0730 OBD-II : Incorrect Gear Ratio, I can't remember the other. He cleared the code, did some adjustment; the check engine light disappear, and the gear shifted though with some hesitation sometimes which promised will disappear overtime.

This Is My Problem
One of the shaft got stiff and pulled, so I have to remove it and replace it yesterday, and the problem of improper gear shifting is back again. The gear would not shift to a higher gear. Note: I ensured the car was not driven at all before removal and replacement.

I also noticed that my transmission shifter doesn't shift the gear correctly, when I try to put it in any of the gear, first, it doesn't align correctly, and I will have to shift a little more forward before it will eventually engage.

Gurus in the House, I need help, please guide me. This is the only place I can run to and be sure to gain knowledge and find answers

Find out if he had to remove the neutral switch when removing your Shaft. Seems the bolts holding the neutral switch is not firm plus he needs to properly align it.

Help oooooo!!! My 2001 pt cruiser 2.0 misfiring and I guess is spark plugs ooo...

When I noticed the misfire...I service the nozzles and injector....so the misfire still persisting.

So now I went to check my plugs.... I used all the socket spanners 16mm, 14mm, .... normally is 16mm socket that opens it..

With annoyance I tried all spanner sizes...didnt still grip the nots on the spanner plugs, with curiosity,I had to use torchlight to look into the holes of the spark plugs;then I saw that the 4spark plugs had sank into the top cylinder..

I told several mechanics this....they said that's the major thing causing the misfire.....that best is to fix it by changing the top cylinder which is more like rebuilding the engine to me,that means that like more of half engine. So I asked several mechanics whats the best...should I fix the engine by replacing the too cylinder or I should buy a new complete engine? Most said buying a new engine at once will save me more cost etc....

Pls what are your opinions??

I need a chrysler specialist too call or whatsapp 07010213925

I have never seen or heard of such a thing as spark plugs sinking into the top cylinder. Who drilled a wider hole destroying the threads on the top cylinder block allowing the hexagonal head your spanner grips to pass.
From a scanner, are all 4 cylinders misfiring or some specific one.
Your problem isn't beyond Plug, Coil wires or Ignition Coil.

As for changing engine or top cylinder ( if you are already decided on this) both come with little or no guarantee for tokunbo, so I will prefer the top cylinder replacement as long as gasket is still good.
Is the vehicle in Lagos

Good day good people
I have come again o
Last month my car eod was blinking D light, as I was driving home, so when I got home I park, they I started seeking for advice here and some other channels.

Some advice me to check the fluid level, I checked the next morning before starting the car, true it was below the low point.

So I decided not to drive it until I got another fluid, but I do start it to warm every two days, but I later begin to see, park, at same time with reverse light and D light blinking while the car is in park.

I took it to mechanic, we remove the fluid and put oando dexron 3, but these light are still showing, I was told it might be pressure switch, we changed it, we clean all the sensors that are cleanable, the electric rewire trace eventing traceable but yet these light remain.

So he remove my car ECU/brainbox and put another one from another eod, and immediately all the lights clear off, the rewire told me that my ecu got problems that I should change it.

But I told him to wait, I want hear from an expert on nairaland on what they will advice.

Should I change the brainbox or is there any possible way out.

Though the gear is driving well with those light on and D blinking.

Though your diagnosis methods might be crude but likely you were able to isolate the fault.
The ECU could be the fault in any PCM communication issues; but always the last to look at. You need to scan as you work along. Before and after replacing parts.
Try reprogramming your own Brainbox before going for a replacement Brainbox that might come with other hidden issues since it's an un-tested tokunbo.

The gurus in the house Please help me out with this before it gets out of proportion.
The car is Honda Accord 2004, 4 plug
One or more shift solenoids in your transmission is bad requiring replacement.
Conner44 in the same thread and page you posted gave someone DIY details to reach the solenoids and clean them.

https://www.nairaland.com/996664/maintenance-tips-honda-cars/342#112199773

Cleaning will work when Pressure is low or inadequate but for Stuck-on (as in your case) you definitely have Solenoids that are no longer clutching/working.
This is not a job for a Gear mechanic. But a rewire with experience in transmission can handle it as he should be able to test the Solenoids and determine the one that is bad as well as test the tokunbo ones to be used for replacement. New Solenoids are available though more expensive.
Job can be done in an Alignment pit, so doesn't require bringing down entire gear box to avoid other damages in the cause of this repair.

Good morning,

1) When I try to use the car it has a hard start,

2) if it starts, when I push my leg against the acceleration pedal nothing happens, I also notice the dashboard the pointers do not move at all i.e RPM stays at Zero

These are what I have done

Changed Spark Plug
Change Engine Valve
Cleaned Throttle Body

You need to supply Car model and DTCs from a scanner to get any reasonable response.

The repairs (spark plug and others) you did, I guess was to address the hard starting. What's the status now, is it only the Dashboard issue you have left?
