PHARMSON, like I said earlier on you.ve just got to pick yourself up again and forge ahead. Dissapointments are not the end to life's journey, they only equip you for the greater tasks that lie ahead. Its not like I'm spying into your business. Its just that we should be our brother's keeper. That's all-No adds. So, please take care. Okay? |

Na so o my pal. One has to be very careful when it comes to securing admissions into these our Nigerian Universities, especially the Federal universities. How about: 1st Choice- University of Ibadan 2nd choice- Federal University of Technology, Minna Is the above combination okay? |

Thanks webmonkey, I'll push it up from there. |

Pharmson, this is not the time to get discouraged. Okay? I'm sure things will eventually work out well, and one day you'll look back and say, "Wow! Thank God I forged ahead". It is well bro/sis. |

@ webmonkey x^(1/4) + y^(1/5) = 5 x^(3/4) + y^(3/5) = 35 (The sign ^ means raised to power). I know matrix, determinant and the likes of basic algebra and I also understand the mathematical relationship you put in ur last post; but with all that I wasn't able to solve that question I posted for you. Please help me outline the solution on this thread. I've been away from the internet for sometime. Thanks. |

@webmonkey A close cylindrical tank of radius 50ft and height of 72ft is to be painted on the top and the sides with a paint of thickest 0.01in. About how many gallons of paint (231in^3 = 1 gallon) are required? Hint: The volume of a cylinder is given V = pir^2h Hi webmonkey. Sorry I've not been online until yesterday (celebrating Christmas). I saw the above question you posed at me and honestly I wasn't able to so;lve it completly without nhaving a peep at the solution you gave. I'm okay with the elementary part of differetial calculus (1st principle, product rule, chain rule, log, quotient rule, explicit differentials and exponentials). You should pls give more tutoring on application of differentiation and then move on to Integral calculus (specifically trapezium rule, integration by parts and by partial fractions. I just got thru with my O'levels some months ago and intend to get into college (university) next session. Thanks man. |

@ u1 Thanks for the reply. Pls I also need to know what to expect in the oral test. I'm a science student applying into one of the engineering courses. In what areas were questions generally asked this year? |

Guyz. What you've all said is the bitter truth but the problem lies beyond our leadership. Even some of 'we' followers are corrupt. Imagine a situation whereby a primary 1 pupil is collecting bribe from his fellow pupil just to get a favour. Just imagine! We need to give it all it takes afterall corruption isn't a native of Nigeria(or Africa) neither is prosperity an indigene of Europe(and America)! |

Hey guyz. Let's stop all these. With mindsets like that, Nigeria will never be a better place. Everyone's just got to go back to the drawing board and see how he/she can contribute to moving this country forward. You contribute your quota I contribute mine, believe me Nigeria will be a better place. Its through that these are the end times but must the negative signs of the end-times be evident in Nigeria? Must they? Some situations happen in this country and at times I feel like crying: Imagine a situation where a teacher's nationwide strike was prolonged to the extent that thousands of students were eventually denied admission into universities. Could you imagine? Or is it the recent Jos crises? The way navals assault innocent citizens? The state of our 'available' infrastructural facilities? Yemmyse, you have a dream? Don't be discouraged lady/man coz I also believe Nigeria will be a better place someday: a place foriegners will want to rush to. A place where we will all look back and say positively: Na we be dis? |

Pls could you give a detailed lecture on the applications of differentiation in terms of change in volume, change in area, etc as well as an introduction to the applications of integral calculus. Thanks in anticipation of your positive response. |

@Jarsofclay Thanks for the info, was the post-ume exam an oral test or a written test. Please do you know if University of Ibadan will be admitting students for undergraduates courses through the Ume next year (2009) or is the school totally becoming a post-graduate school (as from next year)? Thanks in anticipation of your response. Please I really need your response urgently because I learnt that the UME 2009 forms are out already. |
