Please I need help, I submitted my application in August, and Stanbic decided to answer me after 3 months of waiting. My school has confirmed payment and they have shared the receipt with me.
How do I send my proof of payment (1st-semester school fees receipt) using the new portal? Am I to send an email or submit it as an additional document?

Thank you;
6 months to school resumption what about the study visa wait time. ?
ShowYoung:

1. The earliest you should start is 6 months prior to your program start date— this is September.

2. Although a US citizen doesn't need a visa to enter Canada if (s)he is not staying for a period of not more than 3 months (or 6 months, I am not sure now), since you'll be staying for more than 3 or 6 months, you should apply for visa now so you don't want to be dealing with it again after 3 or 6 months.

3. You shouldn't be turned away since you have your Canadian study visa and not out of status in the US.

4. About the lump sum, if the BDC is a registered company, let them do it officially. It's an investment in the company which you have just liquidated. Get an official letter from them, and explain.

Hello,

I have been following this trend for a couple of weeks now and am ready to start my study permit application, I have a couple of questions to ask and I would need your help.

1. My school resumption date is March 2023, can I start my application now?

2. My 3 years old daughter is American, did upfront medicals for her already, do I need to apply for her since she has an American passport?

3. I plan to travel to the US by September once I get my study permit and enter Canada from the US by February is this advisable?

Finally, my salary is in USD and I have been doing some investments with my BDC friend and they want to pay the money back into my USD account lump sum what’s the best way for them to pay it in.?

Looking forward to your amazing advice.

After my letter of intent wahala with Nigeria Embassy and dropping off my new correspondence as requested by the VO I waited for their email or response nothing came in; on the 14th of February I left for my MJ; POE JFK with Delta; Arrived early hours the next day and here is my Transcript.

VO: Hello ma can I have your passport
ME: sure
VO: what are you here for
ME: have my baby and tourism
VO: have you been to the US before now and when
ME: Yes and last year gave him date
VO: where will you be staying, do you have a correspondence with the hospital and how much do you have on you?
ME: I gave him all the answer
VO: He said okay I should give him a minute ( he spoke to his colleague and next thing he ask me to follow him to the other room; where he dropped my document and another VO took it and he ask me to wait)
New VO called me
VO: hello what’s the name of the hospital you intend to use for childbirth?
ME: st Mary’s New Jersey
VO: where will you be staying ?
ME: gave him the address
VO: how much do you have on you
ME: told him
VO: Make sure to get all your receipts from the hospital and obgyn; when next you visit the US we will definitely want to have a look at it.
Stamped my visa for 6 months and handed me back my passport and told me safe delivery and do enjoy your stay.
ME: took my passport; thanked him and left.

Before I got out my bags were already waiting for me with all the plenty food stuff I carried I wasn’t check and I carried my bags and left the airport.

Meanwhile 2 days ago I got a call from US embassy asking me where I want them to submit my document for pickup and I told them and next thing I got an email asking me to go pick up my document from DHL office. Me that have landed obodo oyibo since.

Am hoping to get every letter stating that I wasn’t given any discount while am here to avoid stories that touches the heart later.

Sorry for the long epistle

Hello House,
So I finally went for my 2nd interview last week Monday below is my transcript

VO: Hello, how are you doing? Thank you so much for informing us about your intention and we really appreciate you coming in.

Me: not a problem
(Meanwhile behind her was a white lady and a white man whom I assume is the Interviewer’s supervisors)

VO: there have been a lot of medical insurance fraud in the US and we are trying to manage it the little way we can; most hospitals give you a lower cost for child birth and afterward they go back to claim it from insurance and we are trying to reduce it by making sure you are going to the right hospital; please can you show me your correspondence between you and the hospital?

Me: sure (handed her the papaer)

VO: thank you; you are going to New Jersey and why New Jersey?

Me: I have family and friends in New Jersey who will assist me during my stay

VO: oh okay; I can see that you have been offered $8k for CS and the cost of childbirth in New Jersey is approximately $16k which means they will later go and claim the balance on your behalf.

ME: oh is that what they do? Wow that not good. If I was given a higher price I could have plan for it and if it’s something we can afford definitely we will go for it, we can afford it, it’s something I can actually afford on my own if that was the cost they gave me.

VO: okay so where do you work and what do you do?

ME: (I told them)

VO: and your husband ?

ME: ( I told them)

VO: okay can you please give me a minute let me talk to my supervisors?

ME: Sure not a problem

( aunty mute the microphone spoke to the people behind and I could literally hear their conversation)

VO: please can you do something for me?

ME: sure what is it?

VO: can you look for another hospital in New Jersey that can give you the right bill, I understand you have family in New Jersey but they are other cheaper states where you can have you baby
(And she looks back, talking to her supervisors “do I need to take her passport? “ Oga said “no we are not revoking her visa so we don’t need her passport”
And she turns back to me after bringing out a white paper )
Can you send in your correspondence with the new hospital and attached your bank statement and send it to this Dhl address, since we are not revoking your visa I don’t think we need your passport.

ME: okay thanks, so how long will it take to hear back from you?

VO: just send it in and we will get back to you via email as soon as possible.

ME: okay thanks

Packed my papers and I left meanwhile I had arranged myself for Canada all I had to do was hit send if they try to denied me; so my confidence level was intact and I know with a valid VISA your chances of getting Canada visa was high so I was ready for them.

I have started looking for hospital though really wish I can get list of states in the US and their maternity cost. Google is just giving me incomplete information. Please if you have or have seen any link share with me. I will also advice we avoid Texas cos with what i see Texas and New Jersey are on the same category when it comes to cost.

Please house I need help what do you think US embassy is asking for base on the below statement?

“If the purpose of your travel is childbirth, you should also include a detailed birth plan.”

Am yet to get a date for the second interview base on the intent letter I sent in but am getting all my documents ready ahead of time.

Thanks

She was asked for proof of payment for her previous delivery, hospital/doctor correspondence and bill for her intended delivery. The VO seemed satisfied with everything but said she should give them a week or two to investigate and make no travel plans till she hears from them.

My advise will be gather the relevant supporting documents with a sizeable budget and attend the interview as soon as possible. I wish you all the best...do keep us updated.

Am waiting for them to advice when I can come in for interview as I have all the documents and proof of payment to go with.

I was told they have to send you a link to pick a date ; still waiting for their reply or link; if not I will call them tomorrow morning.

Thank you sooo much.

Hope is not too much to ask can you help me ask what they asked her during the interview session

This confirms my assertion! there is a vendetta on Nigerians for US visa issuance especially for child birth related cases. I was at the Lagos embassy on the 19th of December for an interview following a 221g refusal due to my hospital zero balance ( story for another post)
My advice will be that you get a hospital that charges nothing less than $10k minus doctors fee and other charges.
During my both interviews, the emphasis was on the amount I paid for the hospital( $5000) despite stressing that I paid my doctor fee and some bills. I even mentioned the amount I spent on accommodation and living expenses but the VO told me it wasn’t her business and kept insisting the hospital bill was ridiculously small.
Note: after my 221g, I emailed my hospital explaining my experience during my interview and a letter stating in details the reason for the discount was sent, tried presenting the letter but the VO refused, insisting it was not a bill and the content was not her business..
The earlier you schedule your interview, the better.
I wish you all the best and pray God touches the VO that interviews you.

St Mary has sent me bill of 7k for normal and 8k for CS; I have the correspondence with me; but I want to ask for more detailed bill so I can take it along with me to the embassy.

Wowwwww, it looks like this change of intent email is no longer valid. I know someone who has had a similar experience after sending her change of intent email, they called her for an interview and with held her passport for administrative review promising that she will hear back from them in 1/2 weeks.

May God help us all because i really don't understand what is going on.

Did she have to apply again cos another information I got was that I didn’t need to apply again but I can walk in around noon and they will schedule me immediately for interview. Don’t know how true this is

Wow...it seems the US consular's policy on childbirth has shifted... without any big announcement.

My guess is that you need to complete a new DS160 and book a new appointment if they are saying your visa is no longer valid.

Just quickly do it..all the very best

Thanks A lot; still making enquiries will update my progress here.

Hello everyone,

I really need your help; I have a B1/B2 valid visa which I have use before; am due to travel in February and I sent an email to the embassy informing them that I would be traveling to have my baby and I got the below response from them less than an hour ago. Please I need advise on how to book a second appointment and what to expect. Thanks

“Thank you for your inquiry.

Our records indicate that you applied for a different purpose of travel during your recent interview and/or DS-160 form submission. As your purpose of travel has now changed significantly to include medical treatment in the United States, you will need to return to the Consulate for a second interview. Please note that your visa is not valid for travel at this time.

For your second interview, you should bring all available information related to your planned medical treatment including correspondence with your doctor, the estimated cost of the procedure(s), any receipts showing prepayment for care, and evidence that you have the ability to pay for all costs while in the United States up to and including living expenses for yourself and any dependents. If the purpose of your travel is childbirth, you should also include a detailed birth plan.

If you have received any kind of medical treatment in the United States on previous visits, you will also need to bring evidence of payment of all fees and charges incurred to the interview. You should note any discounts or price adjustments received and indicate the source of these adjustments if known.

Regards,
