Politics / APC Meets EU Delegation, Expresses Confidence In INEC by GSA01: 10:58am On Oct 30, 2018
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence in the ability of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct a free and fair election contrary to the assertion of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. President Buhari during the Grand Finale of APC Gubernatorial Campaign Rally in Osun State on 18th Sep 2018 The Party’s acting National Chairman, Otunba Niyi Adebayo made the disclosure when he received a 2019 election exploratory delegation of the European Union to Nigeria on Monday at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. The same EU team in previous meetings with the PDP had been told that the APC was bearing down on the party and the opposition in the country. The EU team met with the PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and Vice-Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi. Otunba Adebayo who is the APC’s Deputy National Chairman (South) thanked the European Union for their longstanding interest and developmental support for the country’s electioneering process. Responding to the EU delegation’s enquiries on APC’s assessment of the country’s election management body and the justice system ahead of the elections, Otunba Adebayo expressed confidence in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ability to conduct free, fair and credible elections and the judiciary to resolve disputes that may arise for the election process. Nicolay Paus, the European Delegation Exploratory Team Leader who spoke on behalf of the delegation said the team has already met with other election stakeholders in the country to recommend whether the EU would deploy election observers to monitor the 2019 general elections. Osun re-run: Tension as soldiers, police patrol Osogbo, Ede “We have met with a range of electoral stakeholders – INEC, some political parties, ministries of foreign affairs and information, civil society and some of the international organisations working on electoral support. The purpose is really to collect as much information as possible to recommend whether to deploy an observer mission for the 2019 elections. This decision will be taken in Brussels. As you may remember in 2015, there was a mission here which arrived around six weeks before the elections and stayed some weeks after the elections. We also had a number of long-term observers who followed the electoral process as well.” Nicolay Paus stated. Other members of the delegation were the Head of Politics, EU Delegation in Nigeria, Olivier Huot; Policy Officer, Jose-Antonio Torres-Lacasa; Election analyst, Hannah Roberts and Political Adviser, Osaro Odemwingie.

Politics / Osinbajo’s Restructuring Tantrums by GSA01: 9:46am On Oct 30, 2018
THESE are not the best of times for the pseudo- progressives of Yorubaland as the rubber hits the road on the major issue that will determine the outcome of the 2019 elections , returning Nigeria to the path of productivity a.k.a restructuring. VP Osinbajo For many years, a band of conservative, opportunistic and wheeling-dealing politicians sprinkled with some pretenders to the throne have been throwing their weight around in the zone mouthing popular rhetorics to hoodwink the unwary. With plenty of illicit cash,a formidable political machinery was put in place whose survival rested on perversion of values and corruption of institutions. Gradually a zone that was known for its sophistication became a land of anything-is-possible with the rest taking over the public space while the best was consigned to the sidelines. It was with that strength that the ACN coupled an alliance with its partners across Nigeria in 2014 named the All Progressives Congress, APC. Why I will pick money over sex in a relationship The first manifesto of the party that was out in 2014 was kept a secret document until some Yoruba nationalists forced it out of the hands of their South West operatives and discovered they were silent on the issue of Federalism and a bedlam was raised. The smooth operators said they were coming back and they soon returned with a revised version which now made a 419 promise “to return Nigeria to a true Federation”. A grand deception was sold and a wing of Yoruba progressive establishment followed the deception. A renegade progressive even openly declared that “only Yoruba bastards will not vote for Buhari”. The APC won the election and the owners of the game took over and showed their true colour by declaring that restructuring Nigeria into a proper federation was not their priority. The 2014 National Conference whose reports were unanimous and provided a good template was declared an archival material. Agitations went on unabated and they switched to not knowing the definition of restructuring as they got 200,000 definitions from 200,000 Nigerians they spoke to on the subject. Presidency: It’ll be Ndigbo’s turn in 2023, Buhari support group replies Fashola When that would not put the genie in the bottle, they asked Nasir El-Rufai,an opponent of restructuring to lead a team to go search for what was not lost He returned after some Safari around the county with some xeroxing of pages from the 2014 National conference report and the APC and its government have been mute on the matter since then. Elections are now weeks away and Candidate Atiku has articulated his thoughts on restructuring with time line and even promised to sign an MoU to begin implementation from the first day in office. He is gaining traction and the owners of APC game have now dispatched their messengers in the South West to start the shenanigans all over again. Some days ago, it was the Interim Chair of APC,Chief Bisi Akande who used to command some respect in the region they dispatched to America. He made some ramblings on federalism before he ended up for what he was sent to do: dismising apostles of restructuring as sloganeers.I still have in my Library a copy of the book Restructuring: Nigeria’s Approach To True Federalism, which he authored as Governor of Osun. The late Afenifere Leader, Senator Abraham Adesanya asked me to draft for him his Foreword to that book. Yoruba foremost living Historian, Prof. Banji Akintoye has asked Chief Akande to quit politics to preserve whatever legacy he has left. Last weekend saw the man at the balcony of power,Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo taking the stage at the University of Ibadan to take on Atiku who has made himself eloquently clear on restructuring in a case of why Yoruba hiss at those asking the gods to kill a person who cooked soup but failed to add salt without a word on the person who did not near the fireplace . Going through all Osinbajo tantrums at Ibadan which are not worth quoting ,all that is obvious to us is that deep frustration has set in as the day of reckoning knocks. Atiku today can afford promissory note on restructuring but the APC can only tender cash as the question for it is :what have you done in almost four years on restructuring ? The mumbo-jumbo the VP spewed in Ibadan was talking of his court appearances when he was Attorney General of an AD government in Lagos as what “we”(APC) did” on restructuring .A Law Professor? What tongue twists! OSUN RE- RUN; PDP in South West kick, alleges compromised by the Security Agencies I am certain no one would take Atiku serious if all he he did was to come before Nigerians and premise his promise to restructure solely on the fact that he chaired the Committee on Devolution of powers at the 1995 Constitutional Conference without articulating the issues involved in restructuring and a clear pathway on how to do it with clear commitment and timeline. The clear message to drummers Akande and Osinbajo today is that your beats are no longer danceable as we have seen through all the cheap tricks and cannot be hoodwinked as we are very wary now. Find somewhere to sit and let the owners of the game speak to us on the fundamentals. Those who would not let Osinbajo as Acting President know when they asked Daura to seal the National Assembly under his nose cannot let him know where they stand on the key issues. There is no wisdom in throwing tantrums all over town on behalf of those who see you as an outsider-insider! …Oonirisa, the Olori and the ritual LET me first congratulate His Imperial Majesty,Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi,The Arole Oodua,Ojaja II as he last week received his Queen to the palace on October 19, 2018. Her Majesty, Olori Moronke Naomi Silekunola Ogunwusi the New Yeyeluwa Oodua’s entry into Kabiyesi’s world has brought a closure to the phase of singleness for Kabiyesii and all lovers of the ancient throne are in prayer that the couple will find all marital fulfillment and their union will always be a source of joy for them and the entire kingdom. This is also the place to address the hues and cries all over social media this past week over the indiscretion by some people posting photographs of the marriage rituals performed within the precincts of the palace ,especially the aspects involving stepping on the blood of animals by the new bride. I fully accept that the images of blood should not have been brought to the public place given the rate of occult involvement of many young persons with its attendant blood rituals. The whole ceremony was private and it should have been kept so. But the other side of the argument I do not buy is questioning the essence of blood ritual and why the Olori who is an Evangelist should go through such. Those who argues along this line forget that the Ooni occupies a highly spiritual throne and a total lack of appreciation or understanding of the place of blood in traditional religion and the orthodox religions that are more popular now. Blood of animal is the Red Carpet in Traditional African(Yoruba) Culture and it symbolises honour, sanctification, fortification, faith, allegiance and obedience. There are rituals that are communal with fixed annual seasons, hence ceremonial in nature. There are others that are private or do not have any fixed annual calendar, but are practised as the need arises. Rituals and ceremonies play very dominant religious and social functions in African societies. Restructuring can address minimum wage issues – Ogidi Traditional rites, rituals and ceremonies all have their foundational beliefs and theological basis. The purpose for such practices must be ascertained. The totality of what is involved in practice must also be ascertained. Rituals and ceremonies do have their accompanied practices, rules and regulations. These practices, rules and regulations become the means of linking traditional Africans with the spiritual powers and forces. Every religion has these rituals. When God was to show his hands in Egypt by killing its first borns,He instructed Moses and Aaron to instruct the children of Israel to raise selected species of animals which they should kill and sprinkle the blood on their door frames. “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.”-Exodus 12-13.He also instructed them to observe the day as Passover for generations to come . The ultimate prize Christ paid for Christians was shedding his blood on the cross and till date his followers still plead the blood of Jesus . Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha, and “Adha” means “sacrifice” in Arabic. Most families who can afford to do so will slaughter an animal — perhaps a sheep, goat, cow or camel. The animal will be blindfolded, gently put down and then slaughtered while the name of Allah is praised. The meat is consumed by the family and also distributed to neighbors and to the needy. For some non-Muslims, it may seem puzzling that Muslims engage in such a bloody ritual. But Jews and Christians are able to relate to the holiday’s origin: the biblical story of the sacrifice of Isaac. Ekiti, Osun Polls: APC trying to influence election tribunals – PDP This story is in both the Book of Genesis and, with some interesting variations, the Quran. In the story, Abraham receives a shocking injunction from God: He must offer his beloved son as a sacrifice. As a devoted servant of God, he agrees to obey and takes the child to Mount Moriah to slaughter him. At the last moment, God, satisfied with Abraham’s devotion, saves the boy by sending a ram as a substitute sacrifice. There are minor differences in how the story is told in Islam, Judaism and Christianity — such as the name of the child, which the Quran doesn’t mention and Muslims gradually accepted as Ishmael. But the moral lesson is the same: Abraham’s piety should be celebrated. He was willing to obey God’s order, even if it meant killing his son. It is in this context that what happened in Ife should be understood as just a ceremony.

Google is still free.
Buhari is yet to START & COMPLETE any major project in Nigeria. All these are Stella Odua's brain child

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.naija.ng/amp/46969-7845.html

Abuja – The Federal Government has approved N106 billion for the construction of 11 new international airport terminal buildings, Aviation Minister Stella Oduah announced on Thursday.

Oduah told a news conference in Abuja that the amount was approved at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

She said the new international terminal projects were different from the ongoing remodeling and reconstruction of 11 airports in the country.

She said the 11 new projects would include five international terminals for commercial flights and six for perishable cargoes.

Odual also said that the FEC had given approval for the award of contracts for the “immediate take off of construction work on the five terminals for international flights.

They are Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Enugu.

The six perishable cargo terminals will be in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kano and Asaba.

Oduah said that the projects were part of the government’s road map to achieve its transformation agenda in the aviation sector.

“The second phase in our implementation strategy of the Road Map which falls under the medium term programme of action is the construction of five new international terminals in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Enugu.

so Buhari should not complete it because it's Stella Oduah abandoned project abi.. government is supposed to be continuous..there is over 400 abandoned projects in Nigeria and over 70% of funds have been allocated to such projects .and all you care about is the project Buhari started, When GEJ with oil windfall could not start and finish projects(road and rail) in 5years

senatordave1:

Akwa Ibom PDP and the 2019 election

Virtually every politician of note in Akwa Ibom State has moved into the APC after Senator Akpabio moved to the party and it has been moulded into election winning machinery.

Anietie Ekong

Before now in Akwa Ibom State, candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had recently secured the tickets to contest elections into various positions in the state, would have started shopping for designer suits, asoebi, wrist watches and shoes to match in preparation for their swearing-in ceremonies. It was taken for granted that the elections were as good as being won once one had got the nomination of the party. Not anymore. The tides have changed and now all the candidates are waiting with bated breath for what will be the outcome of the elections to be conducted next year.
The reason for this is not far-fetched. Since the defection of the former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) on August 8, 2018, there is a growing belief that the opposition party in the state, stands a bright chance of winning the state in next year’s polls. The entry of Senator Akpabio into the APC has been like a tsunami in the State. Apart from serving Commissioners and other political appointees who have left in droves, some elected office holders have equally dumped the PDP in the State and all of a sudden, the once vibrant party has been gasping for breath.
Neither is this surprising. Senator Akpabio on whose structure Mr Udom Emmanuel came into power was the oxygen of the party in the state. He was the political life support machine on which the PDP depended for its existence. During a famous radio interview, Senator Nelson Effiong who had earlier defected to the APC had declared that all political office holders in the state owed their election to one man: Senator Akpabio. His movement into the APC and the massive turn outs and earth-shaking defections as witnessed in several rallies across the state to drum up support for the party, have given fresh hope that the APC may just be the party in waiting to take over Akwa Ibom State.
The fresh hope for APC in Akwa Ibom State due to the defection of Senator Akpabio is complemented by the election of Obong Nsima Ekere as the party’s governorship flag bearer. There is a consensus that Obong Ekere who was deputy to the then Governor Akpabio is not a pushover politically. It is widely acknowledged that the current Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has the political and administrative wherewithal to be the Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Obong Ekere parades very intimidating credentials. One of his greatest assets is that he is a home boy and not a Lagos returnee, who knows Akwa Ibom State like the palms of his hands. An entrepreneur of note and innovative thinker, he brings deep insights into developmental issues. His giant strides at the NDDC, where he has repositioned the interventionist agency and spread developmental projects across the Niger Delta bears him out as the right man for the job. The thinking is that Obong Ekere will replicate what he has done in NDDC on a bigger scale in Akwa Ibom State.
It is this combination of Senator Akpabio and Obong Nsima Ekere supported by other political heavy weights that for once, has made the PDP jittery over the imminence of loss of power. Virtually every politician of note in Akwa Ibom State has moved into the APC after Senator Akpabio moved to the party and it has been moulded into election winning machinery.
Seeing the caliber of personalities during a recent visit to the President, an upbeat Senator Akpabio observed, “I believe strongly in the saying, ‘res ipsa loquitur,’ the act speaks for itself. From the caliber of persons you saw here today, the strength and character of the delegation, the capacities of the personalities you saw, it is clear that President Buhari and the APC will win Akwa Ibom State in the 2019 general elections. He will not only win, he will win with a landslide. I can predict that the first state in Nigeria to fall to the APC in 2019 presidential election will be Akwa Ibom State,” Senator Akpabio enthused.
This is reinforced by the belief in the state that with Muhammadu Buhari on the saddle as the President, elections in Akwa Ibom State will not be “carry-go” or the sham witnessed last December as the Local Government elections. If anything, the balance of power has tilted in favour of the APC in what PDP chieftains refer to as federal might, which they had infamously deployed in the past. However, the APC in Akwa Ibom State has the people and for once the people through recent rallies, have expressed their intention to massively support the party to gain power in the state.
The performance of President Buhari has endeared him to Akwa Ibom people. It is instructive that despite the massive support for the PDP in the past, for about 16 years no PDP administration had constructed even one kilometer of road in the state. The state was even denied the refunds of the money the state government deployed to construct federal roads. Neither did the state fare well in terms of appointments. Apart from statutory appointments like Minister, Akwa Ibom sons and daughters were not found worthy of appointments during the PDP administrations with the only exception being the appointment of Obong Ufot Ekaette as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation by President Olusegun Obasanjo. And many would argue that as commendable as that gesture was, no immediate benefit accrued to Akwa Ibom people through it.

But President Buhari has changed the narrative. He had graciously approved the refunds of money spent by the administration of Chief Akpabio on federal roads. In terms of appointments, several sons and daughters of the state for the first time have found themselves manning sensitive positions in government. And to cap it all, the President recently announced contracts for the dualization of Ikot Ekpene – Odukpani road and also the Ikot Ekpene – Aba road, a feat that will change the socio, economic life of the people when completed, among many other projects. And for these, Akwa Ibom people have promised to reward the President and APC with their votes.
Most significantly though is the poor performance of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Since the advent of this republic in 1999, there is a general consensus that his has been an abysmal performance as a Governor. In fairness to the Governor, it must be acknowledged that he has attracted a few industries to the state. But even at that, these are at best by the admission of officials of the state government, private businesses. Governor Emmanuel has also failed to build on the achievements of his predecessors. A fully built and fully furnished Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene is being left to rot because of an ego .
The Ibom Specialist Hospital built by the administration of Chief Akpabio which the Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole described as one of the best medical facilities in the country has been ran aground and the expatriates have since left. The same fate has befallen the Five-Star, Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort which is now run by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism since the former managers have pulled out. For an administration which campaigned on the mantra of continuity of the projects of the man he publicly acknowledged as his “Great Teacher” these have left the people unimpressed.

South Korea got her independence in 1954, and malaysia and singapore two years after Nigeria The difference between Nigeria and these asian tigers is corruption. Nigeria had over 45 000 projects awarded and abandoned projects under the pdp in 16 years..

Atiku has a huge moral burden. How can any political party field a candidate who is wanted in the USA? Are we going to have a president who will not be able to attend the UN GA, or G8 summits?

Oshiomhole is the main reason Buhari may win the 2019 general Election, He is an example of workaholic. trying to fix the mess Oyegun left in the APC, Even Saraki in his defection statement hailed the the effort in bringing peace to the APC.

ShameOnAPC:
Why is EFCC silent on Ganduje , I hate APC, APC as a party is a party of evil doers, anybody that doesn't see how bad Buhari and APC leaders are managing this country ,selective fighting of corruption is a stupid, bastard, enemy of our country and a low life person.

I unfriend any of my Facebook friend praising Buhari led administration.

If I see snake and I see APC supporters, I will first kill that APC supporter before killing the snake

So you dont know that Ganduje has immunity and can not be arrested, only thing that can be done to him is impeachment, before he can be arrested, stop hating unnecessarily...
Politics / Re: "Atiku Is Coming Back To Create A Paradise For Thieves" - Sowore by GSA01: 1:14pm On Oct 17, 2018
Atiku was not happy that he didn't steal enough when he was with Obasanjo. Maybe he didn't get enough licenses for his universities, or maybe he didn't get enough oil blocs for himself or probably didn't marry enough wives.

"So, when they return, they're coming with vengeance; vengeance on our resources and our people.

"Atiku is coming back to create a paradise for thieves and you can see the people who are excited about them.

"They're either people who stole, who didn't steal enough last time,--SOWORE 2018.

This project has been abandoned for close to 32 years. and it is the Buhari administration that has seen the economic advantage, I wonder if Government is not continuous again. successive government with more revenue than Buhari Government did not even bother to continue the project..
