Hi all,

I would be VERY surprised if I saw someone who remembers these old Nigerian comics.

1. Kaptain Afrika &
2. Terror Muda, the fearless Okada rider.

Both ran in The Vanguard newspapers.

I have forgotten the name of the artist, but I can vividly recall that the cartoonist for Kaptain Afrika had a very nice neat handwriting and he was a far better illustrator than the latter, Terror Muda.

Terror Muda was however very gritty and had a lot of action within.

I wish these cartoons were available as omnibuses (collections)

I wonder if writing to The Vanguard Newspapers would help...

Does anyone recall these serialized cartoons / comics?

I do but I doubt Vanguard still runs them

August 5th,2021

Dear Diary,

It's been years I scribbled on you when I was young roughly when I was 11 to 12 years old or so there about.

It was Mummy and a friend of hers'(whose name I can't remember again)idea for me to write a diary due to my quiet and queer attitude towards her and other members of my family which was as a result of some of the ugly experiences I have had during my childhood

I could not keep up with the diary update as a result of procrastination and laziness.My mother's normal routine of beating further made me all together abandon the dairy entry when she read one vital information I wrote in the diary.

Despite all that, I had always longed to still write on you again but the flesh is weak.

A spur to write on you came up again in my 2nd year in school during an evening chat I had with 3 of my friends and bestie Susan whom I playfully call Shushan eventhough she doesn't likes it sometimes.

That Evening all of us were discussing what we all aim to be after we must have leave Delsu stress for Pere (Former Vc) and His Lecturers in our Department especially the likes of Mr Alex .O .that were not making it easy for us at all.

It was when others were saying their goals eg like Lery who wanted to be an Entrepreneur after she finishes school and Susu who was still optimistic about her Lawyer career even after Jamb and Delsu has both collaborated together not to make her achieve that goal twice before she had to accept Delsu's admission offer to Study English and Literary Studies in their institution at the 3rd trial

I told them that the course was my preference because I always wanted to be a renowned and prolific writer like the likes of Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe etc.

That was when I promised to write my first novel with her name titled My Long Letter To Susannanah but she was saying that is not her name so it's definitely not she I would be writing about in that novel.

it could be she might not really fancy the name especially if it's a name that was given to her by her parents(I totally understand this reason cos I have been there once )or she doesn't like it when people address her as Susannanah but whatever reason it might be,That's the name I will still use.

I had at one time planned to change the title of the novel but seriously, I tried all I could to change the title but yet that was the only title that could ring out of my head

The reason I could not change the name was because her name symbolizes all the upheavals,pain points, positivism, negativism, experiences be it good ,sour,rock,glorious, glamorous I have had in all 6 years of my stay in school.

So Shutting Her out of this novel is synonymic to hurting a very important stage of my life.A very vital stage of my life that has shaped me to the adult I'm now.

Dear Diary,the novel was supposed to cover solely all my experiences in school but my long enough remittance to procrastination will now have to make me now cover present day events

Ehen,Diary,I just looked at the calendar now as I was updating on you about Susu n my friends evening discussion in our room that i just remembered yesterday was my 2nd birthday being August 4th,2021.

It's been exactly 1 year now through one of Pastor Kenneth .E.Hagin's book titled The Present Day Ministry of Jesus Christ made me see Christ in a new way I have never seen or worshipped HIM before.

My only regret was that I forgot it was yesterday. It was when I looked at the date I was updating u now on calendar n my Samsung note app for any saved scribbles I have made in your Diary in the past that I saw a scribble I already made on that day that I intend uploading in the Diary.

I just wrote the heading 'How I Became A New Being On The 4th of August 2020' there with a blank body there.

I thought I scribbled something on it sha so that I will just copy it from my notes app and paste it here.

But Diary Sha,Thank God for smartphone ooo...The Whiteman that invented this machine in the 1800s,God will bless him for me wherever he is now cos I couldn't even imagine myself carrying biro and long landmark scribbling non-stop

All in the name of writing a novel or updating my diary. I'm just writing like this now with my phone typing on my Facebook wall not so fast cos I still have to dart my eyes around to check for spellings and sometimes even swipe far left bar to save(abeg I don forget wentin dem dey call am that time)the page I just typed and then enter Chrome to Google for words I'm not so sure about their spellings

So the Grammar police them that are solely reading this book for the purpose of pointing out all my grammatical errors and blunders to me .All I will say is thank you but as long you understand the message I'm trying to convey to you is enough for me

Leave the job to the prof-readers and editors to handle when it's time to publish the book.Just mind your business and enjoy the story cos even me self, na to gist una story I come here come do not to conforming to all your errors u keep pointing out to me as I'm writing this story

Cos if you push me too far,Na straight blocking ooo. Which is why I will encourage new visitors to my wall to scroll down n read my Introductory first upwards to the most recent update of the novel.

I'm eating dinner at the time 8:59.Eba and Egusi soup. I can't be typing n be eating at the same time before the eba go dry for my hand.

As I was typing the last paragraph now, I just remembered an event that happened with my teacher in secondary school.it was a funny one��� but na later I go gist una n Diary that one .

Make I nor overwhelm una with too much update today cos more is coming on its way.

Good Morning Guys

I would start giving daily updates on my novel from Today henceforth titled

My Long Letter To Susannanah

I may not know if the few audience I have here are people who engage themselves in reading novels

Especially for a non-fiction novel like mine if at all it captivates anyone's interest

But Atleast I don't want you to always look at my blank Facebook wall and feed your eyes alone with only the normal boring pictures of myself

I want to do something different and unique on my wall

So I have decided to feed your eyes here with a new kind of content that isn't just entertaining but educative too

As it not only gives you the didactic n entertaining values we normally derive from literary works but also values of enlightenment, financial value and entrepreneurship skill sets for new young aspiring business owners

So don't be surprised if in the course of the daily updates of this novel here on Facebook,

You are able to pitch your markets here and also close deals that have been a hurdle to close up since.

Since it's a Non-Fictional novel,I am willing to bare it all here as it is so that others can learn from my wins and set backs in life due to the decisions I made

The only little alterations I will effect during the narrative of this story are pseudonyms for some characters in the novel and hidden xrated n vulgar content especially if there a children audience here.

I believe Not so Many Literary Writers have been able to pitch their stories in the First Narrative Account especially in a live social media platform like Facebook

Where the possibilities of one having access to more privy information of yours than it already is now in the media we see today

I already weighed the pros and cons of writing on a wide media space as Facebook

And I have to say I'm ready for it all be it criticism whether destructive or constructive,

Having to regret later why I released such a high secretive information about myself or a particular individual.

They are too much to list here but I'm optimistic I will be able to handle them well even if I happen to come across new challenges I never thought of before.

Whereas,The reason I had to come out to write this non-fictional novel is because
1.My way of coming out of the hidden shell I have been hiding since

2.To Pitch a Different and Unique type of narrative from other literary writers you are familiar with in the writing/educative industry.

3.To end the procrastination that has been making this narrative a success majorly due to my fears I mentioned above if I gave it a wider exposure

4.To Raise and Digress contemporary issues other writers has discussed in time pass from a 3rd n 2nd narrative account but time around strictly in a First person narrative.

So if You Are by Now so used with the words You,They,She,He,We etc. It won't be so here cos you are definitely meet alot of I s in this narrative.

5.There Won't be any need of speculation or doubt that comes with 2nd and 3rd narrative account as this is a First Narrative Account, my own story to be precise here.

The Pidgin English adage that says "Na who wear shoe fit talk as the shoe pain am"

My Lovelies Thanks for reading this long epistle to the end as I drop my pen n flex my muscles for the novel proper

I have written small excerpts of the novel before,

So I will drop them here alongside a summary of what the novel entails about so that you atleast have an insight of some of themes n motifs embedded in the novel before I start writing proper
