Killing armed robbers has never stopped crimes. If people had reasonable jobs to do, nobody would take up guns to kidnap others.

The population of sokoto state is about 6.4 million.So the amount quoted gives a per capita ransome payment of about 25,000.The figure may be correct,considering that people have resorted to borrowing money and crowd funding to pay ransome and also considering the large number of kidnap cases.It is quite callous and insensitive to question their claims instead of holding government accountable.

I have visited most of these states and I can attest that this is an unbiased, objective report.
