Health / Re: Baby In Pains As Her Head Continues To Swell Due To Medical Condition. Photos by highpappy: 4:23am On Jun 25, 2018
dainformant:
A Facebook user spotted this little baby suffering from a medical condition known as Hydrocephalus which caused her head to swell abnormally. The baby who has been in pains following the gathering of fluids in the brain - was seen crying as her mother consoled her joyfully while revealing that the baby would have undergone medical treatment if not for financial restraints.

Preparations are now being made to raise funds for the baby.

Hydrocephalus (also called “water on the brain”) can make babies’ and young children’s heads swell to make room for the excess fluid. Older kids, whose skull bones have matured and fused together, have painful headaches from the increased pressure in the head.

Do you know how we can help? Any link/contact with this baby will be helpful. Thanks

How can a Nigerian VC not know that there is no consumer protection right in Nigeria?

He should not disturb us with his Diabetes woes.
Nigerian Breweries does not cause weak erection.

Next time, he should drink Dubic Malt mixed with Alomo Bitters.

It is a privilege to be able to afford data and contribute on forums such as this. Please you use it positively. This is a serious issue in Nigeria and all this man do is trying to hold this lying company accountable and all you do is mock him?

The government/NAFDAC has probably been bribed to turn a blind eye to this deception. That it took this while for someone to do this is disheartening enough.

So there is no consumer protection and the right thing to is sidon and look? Oga o!

Can someone please give a rough estimate, in materials (and cost if possible) of what it take to make a foundation of a 3 nos of 1 bedroom self contain and 2 nos of 2 bedroom apartment.

HsLBroker:
The Simplest Way To Calculate The Numbers Of Blocks U Need For Your Fence

The simplest way to calculate the numbers of blocks you need for your fence project, assuming you are fencing a land measuring 120 feet by 60 ft, a standard plot

This calculation is based on 9 inches block fence .
The measurement we are using is 120 ft (length) and since we have two lengths that is multiply by 2 which is 240 ft. (120 x 2) = 240

The breadth is 60 ft and also since we have 2 breadths that equal 120 ft (60 x 2) = 120
Then (240 + 120) that is 360 feet perimeter line fencing.

The calculation

(we are to convert this 360 feet to inches ) since a foot is 12 inches , now let us multiply 12 inches by 360 ft which is 4320 inches.

Now to get the line numbers of blocks that will go around the fence perimeters of 4320 inches or 360 feet, we would need to divide 4320 by 18 inches, since the length of any block be it 6 inches or 9 inches is 18inches.

Now 4320 inches divide by 18 inches is approximately 240 line of blocks , then we must multiply that by the numbers of coaches of blocks you want for your height, assuming 7 ft which is 9 coaches that means 240 multiply by 9 which is 2160 blocks and that is all you need anything aside from this is fake and fraud, this calculation is derive by me professionally and i have been using it without any mistake, but always remember to add 10 % of blocks to it because of broken blocks, and for this work, you only need 30 bags of cements, one bag of cement to 70 blocks, is standard.

for your pillars between the fence, let assume 6 blocks far from the next pillar, that means 6 divide by 240 which is 40 pillars, 1 bag of cement to 2 pillars standard, that is 17 bags plus 40 bags that is 47 bags is need by me to do this fence, if i'm in position and you should also to add 15 bags for floor blinding of the fence making 62 bags of cement.

Then, we need to minus the gate and the pillars that are also taking space in the fence.

The gate is 12 ft, let us assume the gate columns or pillars is 14 inches each, we have 2 pillars holding the gate, that is 28 inches or 2. 4 feet plus 12 feet that is 14.4 feet or approximately 15 feet.

Remember we already calculate the pillars that 40 pillars is need for the measurement.

Each pillar or column for 9 inches concrete is 9 inches square, 9 x 40 = 360 inches that is (30 feet + 15 feet = 45 feet ) / 18 inches = 30 blocks multiply by the number of coaches, 30 x 9 = 270 block minus 2160 blocks = 1890 blocks in total.

40 lengths of 12mm iron rod, since one pillar is equivalent to 1 length.

3 lengths of 16mm iron rod for the 2 big pillars holding the gate.

90 planks of soft wood for the framing.

1 truck of granite (granite would be use for the wall foundation and columns)

5 trucks of sharp sand

Thanks for the opportunity giving me to explain this simple arithmetic.

Regards
Adeniyi

Not everything one has to get paid for. A simple prayer can be sufficed. GOD BLESS YOU!

But the point is, if what it takes for Nigeria to be great again, where all these selfish and thiefing politicians are contained to some extent, is uruhuhu type of judgment, am all for it.

And by the way Justice Alfa Belgore is from Kwara state and we all know who Saraki is, so go figure.

We have a serious problem in this country. A very big one indeed.

We think the problem is the thieving or corrupt politicians/leaders, but our problem is worse.

We have youths, and educated ones at that, who are supposedly the leaders of tomorrow, that stop reading before commenting or fail to follow a simple unbiased logical reasoning.

PLEASE READ THE INTERVIEW BEFORE YOU COMMENT. And if you think you are too high on Oshogbo weed, please log out of Nairaland and come back when you are sobered.

And, if after you read the interview without your weed distorted mind, you still cant make any sense from El-rufai's explanation or at least offer a constructive and logical argument, then this country is in for a long ride.

We will all be doing this country a big favor if we start to reason like this.

The man has just explained one of the core factors hindering our progress in this country and he was very logical at it. No sentiments

Mistake of his life? If he fails to listen to fear mongers like you? The point is, the story of women changing after traveling to US/UK is always almost incomplete. Often time the story is told only from the husband's side. And trust me, nobody has the monopoly of this experience.

@topic

My suggestions:

1. Have your wedding in a hall and by invitation. A lot of people have suggested this. It makes sense. I know the hall is an added expenditures but you have gotta chose your battle.

2. Since your ultimate goal is for your wife to be with you, you can do just the introduction that will involve the families and go to registry with your wife and the needed witnesses. You can get the certificate and necessary pictures you will need to file for your wife's relocation. After couple of years, with your combine assests, you can come back and do the wedding the way both of you want.

3. I know one of the excuses people use is "a pastor or woli told us not to have a flamboyant wedding". Since most people are so gullible when it comes to pastor or alfa, they won't be upset if you don't invite them

oga no be my mouth u go hear say police die lipsrsealed but I will give u my own point and it's left for u to follow your mind.

Majority of guys I knew that took their wife abroad regretted it. Here on NL, we have read many cases too. I have a family member in UK that's now mentally ill when he caught his wife cheating with a foreigner. It wasn't "den say den say" he caught her pant down. (A Lady that has 3 grown up kids already)

I remember when I told my dad I want to bring my babe here with me, the next thing he said was " do u remember Mr lagbaja and Mr lagbaja's" case? A lady that loves you will wait for you.

Though some are enjoying it BUT majority are regretting it cos our ladies eyes dey open when u bring them abroad most especially when they start to move with friends.

I will advice you to come and settle with her in Nigeria than to take her there.

Though ladies aren't the same but I am talking from experience.

Cc samhay

I just couldn't let this slide. Please OP do not listen to this person and if you have to listen or take his advice, know that the person is not talking with any fact.

The fact is that you don't have to bring a woman abroad before she cheats. She can cheat even in your village. So the suggestion to go to naija to stay with your wife is just bull. A woman that cheats on her husband after traveling abroad have the tendency to cheat anywhere anyway.

Also contary to what this person want you to believe that "majority" of those that relocated their wife abroad regretted it, the reverse is actually the case. Majority of individuals that relocated their wife are enjoying it or are no different than those that marries where they are based. Those that are regretting or regretted it are in minority. Don't let this person screw you up with his own experience, albeit not a direct a direct one.

As much as you will be made to believe, most of these people that regretted relocating their wife abroad plays a bigger part in turning their marriages to whatever they are.

Many will bring their wifes abroad but still treat them like they are still in Nigeria. He will expect the wife to cook, do laundry, take care of the kids even though they are both working the the usual 8 or 12 hrs shift. They will not say these but blame the wife when she gets tired if the injustice and decides to step out.

Also most of these men cheats on their wife with thir Akatas but blame the fact that they relocated their wife when the wife reciprocate.

Some men are lazy. They bring their wife abroad, watch the wife go to school and become a nurse or whatever. Meanwhile the man is still hustling with his security job. Yawa then gash when the woman started making more than the man, the transporter, himself. Is is right for the woman to change on her husband cos thean makes less than her, absolutely no. But shit we are all human ego comes with wealth. Not fair but the man should have improve himself too. Just saying.

Even a horrible husband that doesn't fit to be a husband, even by western standard, will blame everything on the fact that he brought his wife abroad.

Is it true that some women cheat on their husband after arriving abroad, yes. But heck that woman will cheat even if she is in Nigeria or her village. It's not the abroad thing, it is an intrinsic, personal thing.

And anytime one comes to tell you about how people are regretting their wife coming abroad, ask the person about the "saint" husband whose only mistake was bring his wife abroad.

Until some men start to realize that one of the sacrifice of living abroad is that you can't live just like in naija. That you lose a little bit of your patriarch power, especially when you have a wife that warrant that. May be then we will start being objective about the true reason behind why some women change after traveling abroad.

Family / Re: My Wife Over Spiritual Orientation Is Driving Me Nuts!!! by highpappy: 6:14pm On Jul 18, 2014
I think it's either plain stupidity or hypocrisy to separate beauty or attractiveness from loving or marrying a woman. It might not
I do not marry my wife solely because of her intelligence, level of spirituality or personalities. I marry her because of her certain level of beauty and attractiveness, too. If and when that beauty, intelligence or one of the reasons i marry her is being threaten, then there will be a cause for concern. A concern this op is expressing.

I don't understand the insults towards the op. His wife is changing from how he used to know her and he is seeking advice on how to deal with it. I will be concerned too.

Just because the wife is becoming "born again" or acting "Godly" doesn't make it different.

@Op
As some people already mentioned, i wont advise you to cheat or stop loving your wife because of the "change" she is going through. An adventure i will call it. Give her some times and let the dust settles and may be she will realize or understand that you dont have to stop wearing trouser as a female or stop using make up to go to heaven. Give her time while having conversation with her about it without any malaise or aggression. She needs to understand that while she is on her adventure, she needs to fulfill and stand by her spiritual and moral responsibility towards you as her husband which i believe making you happy is part of it.

Soloter: 1.If a drug addict becomes a lunatic - we can then conclude that his destination is Hellfire. why? the Bible has warned us against polluting the temple of God, "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:16,17(KJV)." , therefore, one who refused to accept this injunction when insaned, shall rot in hell.
2. insanity is occasioned by demon- possession and demons will only possess those who have rejected the Son of God- Christ. for the Bible says "You are of God, my little children, and you have overcome them because he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" 1John 4:4.
Conclusively, one's believe and state before madness will determine where he'll spend eternity.

Bull crap! To say people who are insane become insane because they are not a believer of God is shallow. I wonder when people will stop reading scriptures literally? If that is true, God knows how many people will be living with demons right now.

CityNG: Two more thoughts that came to mind on my evening bike ride:

1) You don't have to be the biological nor adoptive father in order to pay support. In some stated guys that merely dated women with kids were forced to pay even after DNA cleared them.

2) Courts are eager to award child support because for every $1 the Woman gets the state gets $2 from the federal government.

It's a money making racket.

That's very true! California comes to mind. In fact, Ne-yo was forced to pay his estranged woman an "ungodly" amount of money even after DNA results revealed he was not the biological father. The whole thing is a scam
