Health / Re: Nma Strike, The Nurses' Perspective. by HIV1: 9:18pm On Jul 12, 2014 |
What is doing all these doctors self who cannot read and comprehend simple article written by a supposedly inferior coleague ( Afolabi). The guy mentioned the courses attended jointly by the nursing and medical students while in school to illustrate the fact that they the nurses are not academically inferior to the the medical students and to correct the opinion that all nursing students find themselves in the field because they were not able to meet the cut off marks set by JAMB. This inability to get simple statement straight is what usually cause too much talk. If nurses are not important , then patients should just go home after they have seen the doctor or better still the doctor shouyld carry out all the responsibilities of the nurse. As for me , no health personnel is less important, I have seen a person's leg totally condemed simply because a nurse mis injected the person and not because of wrong prescription by the doctor 1 Like |
Religion / Re: Where Are The Dead Going? by HIV1: 7:47pm On Jul 12, 2014 |
Deads , be it human or animals are going to be recycled. Depends on the evironment where they got trapped when they die , they can be converted to different forms. If they die on land they will be converted to faterlizers. If they die on water such a boat capsized during travelling , you may find yourself mixed with sediment and with effect of geothermal energy you can be converted to petroleum and eventually find yourself in the body of my toyota camry 2 Likes |

I have been reading the debate between the doctors and nurses for a while; I think the matters arising are both interesting and dangerous. Interesting from the point of view of political jargons that have been written to buttress each side arguments and dangerous from the point of view of numerous patients who are suffering and are bearing the brunt of the strike. I am not a medical practitioner so I remain neutral in this argument. I have always believed that knowledge is holistic, it cannot be departmentalized. The depart mentality of knowledge is born out of necessity and that is why in field like economics, they always talk about division of labour , in essence, it not possible for a single individual to be a doctor, a nurse, a laboratory scientist etc. Because nobody is capable of having all knowledge, and no knowledge is superior to another, it then becomes inevitable to for everybody to respect what others know and you know not. That is what keeps a normal society running. From the little I have gathered on the subject matter, the post of chief medical director as uphold in the constitution is meant for medical doctors. From my own point of view, one does need to be a medical expert but someone with good degree who has acquired ample experience in health industry to occupy the position and perform effectively. A good example is Dangote flour. Dagote might not know how to produce flour in detail, but sure know how to combine various factors of production together to achieve his aim. Such knowledge would have been acquired overs the years through his entrepreneurship. The same way a matron, or lab scientist with long years of service merit the post. Not all doctors are brilliant and not all nurses /pharmacists are mooron I think what is causing the problems between doctors and nurses is that doctors don’t want change and change is the only thing that is permanent. They are somehow arrogant from my own perspective. If a nurse is appointed as a chief medical director at a point in time, s/he should be accorded due respect as demand by the position after all a money miss road that owns private hospitals do give them order which they abide. . They the doctor should remember the oath of thier prossion and eschew personnal aggrandisement and greediness and go back to work for the sake of the patients. 3 Likes |

I do wonder sometimes the extent to which my people are beclouded by religious sentiment. It makes me sober when I realize the extent to which religion is being used as a double edge sword to charade the thinking of an average Nigerian.Sometimes I used to wonder whether food is being given to people at Churches or Mosques such that even when their member is engaging in corruption which is not even supported by both religions , Nigerians will still be clamouring their loyalty to a very corrupt and wicked government all in the name of religion. Come 2015 Jonathan will still be oga at the top simply by using religion as a tool to manipulate the minds of the people. Nigerians are suffering and very soon most of the masses will not have access to education to add to arrays of problem on ground yet they will vote for GEJ as if doing so score them a point to enter heaven . To be continue when they bring light |
Sports / Pitroipa Cleared To Play In Afcon Final by HIV1: 1:05pm On Feb 08, 2013 |
Burkina Faso's star striker Jonathan Pitroipa, who picked up a red card in Wednesday's semifinal, is set to play in Sunday's Africa Cup of Nations final after all. For Pitroipa to be able to take part the referee in Wednesday's game had to admit he had made a mistake in booking the player for a second time for diving, something Tunisian Slim Jdidi has now done, CAf president Issa Hayatou said. "Everyone realised that this referee did not officiate well," Hayatou announced here on Friday. "They've told me the referee has sent a letter saying he got it wrong. "From this moment, the CAF executive committee will pass on the matter to the disciplinary commission, who will announce their decision today (Friday). "The referee admitted his error in his report given to the (CAF) secretary general (Hicham El Amrani) – he recognised that he had got it wrong." Jdidi's admission that he had erred paves the way for the red card to be rescinded and for Pitroipa to take his place in the Burkina Faso side to face Nigeria at Soccer City on Sunday. Pitroipa produced the only goal in the 1-0 extra-time quarterfinal win over Togo. He has helped lighten the blow of the Burkinabe losing their best striker Alain Traore to injury. Jdidi, who has been suspended for his poor performance in Wednesday's game, sent off the Rennes forward in the 117th minute of the game that Burkina won on penalties against Ghana. http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4687/2013-africa-cup-of-nations/2013/02/08/3735990/referee-jdidi-admits-his-mistake-and-caf-allows-pitroipa-to-play-?source=breakingnews&ICID=HP_HL_3 |

Some people always put religious sentiment into every thought. The girl in question knows the person likely to be responsible. There is a case of a woman whose face got machetted by the gang sent by the wife of the man she was committing adultery with. The lady later told people it was robbery but people who were aware knew the real story because the claimed robbers didnt steal anything . |

Religion / Why Do People Write Their Religion In Their Resume? by HIV1: 10:38am On Jan 31, 2013 |
I have always asked the question why Nigerians write their religion on their Resume. So many questions out of curiosity emanate from the above statement; 1 is religion one of the requirements for job placement 2. Does it boost ones chance of getting job? 3. Does it have any contribution to employee performance 4 Does it guarantees zero corruption in an organization. 5. Why is it that most resumes I have come cross in this country bear either Christianity or Islam, what about other religious sects such as Armoc, aithest and traditional believers. I am compelled to write this article because of my observation when I looked at many samples of resume by the Europeans online and discovered that religion is almost hundred percently omitted I then start wondering, what necessitate or precipitate the idea of including ones religion in a resume from this country. Why I am asking the question is that job placement to me should be solely based on merit. We are all aware of the extent to which religious sentiment have contributed to our biased selection of candidates. I will buttress my point with two experiences one from me and another from someone close to me. A friend of mine who was unemployed but has finally got job now graduated from department of mathematics .The guy is very good hence some of the lecturers in a federal polytechnics used to engage his services to put them through whenever they have they difficulties in solving some questions. In the process of teaching, many of the lecturers saw that he was good and wanted the guy in their institution. The guy is a Muslim, and he discovered that in that department mostly hundred percent of them are Christians hence they would hardly allow a Muslim in their midst. Because of this sentiment he was unable to get job in that department. There is also another department in that same institution in which almost hundred percent of them are Muslims hence they also believe that it is Muslims right to be there. They too will go against a Christian getting job in that department. I have also witnessed a situation during NNPC recruitment in which a guy who can hardly construct a sentence and claimed he had 2.1 from a university went to get a letter from a chief Imam Abuja to scale to second stage which is interview stage. In this same selection some went to the extent of getting letter from CAN president. Another one is that of an advert that came out in one of the dailies. The director of the Organization came from a church in Ibadan. It was discovered that half of the people that were to be employed had already been taken three months before the advert out and they were all from this same church. This same organization sold 3000 forms at 1000 naira per form the first day the advert came out and the director knew they were not going to take those people. When guys heard that connection was in the church, the number of congregation temporarily doubled the following week. We need to ask ourselves; does any religion support corruption? To the best of my knowledge I believe is that religion says is that if someone merits a post or appointment, give it to the person even if the person Ogboni , Gurumaharaji, Muslim or Christian. Most Imams, Pastors and their follower do these things thinking they are helping their friend, or their congregation. It’s all corruption, I can’t Imagine if Jesus or Muhammad were to be alive, I am sure neither will give note to somebody to go and meet person in charge when the right channel is aptitude test or an interview. |
