Family / Re: Would You Date A Single Parent? by IAH(f): 9:33pm On Mar 14, 2006
I once asked this kind of question on this forum because one of my 'husbands' in Nigeria is a single parent. I do like him though, but that child part is a big No-No. I want to be the one to give my husband his first child. The sort of happiness he'll feel if he's had a child previously will not be as much as if that's the first time he'll be a father.
If you don't mind, you can go for it though. undecided

Romance / Re: Have You Ever Been In Love? by IAH(f): 9:47pm On Mar 13, 2006
Of course, everybody on this planet has been in love before. Hmm, I've been in love several times but I fell in love for the very first time with someone when I was in Primary 2 and that person was my class teacher. He was really cute! Dark with curly hair. Then he used to call my friend his wife, that made me really jealous. That was Primary 2 and I was like 5 or 6!!! cheesy cheesy cheesy
No, I'm no longer in love with him. He's married and now a Bishop! He has a big church now! smiley
The last time I saw him preaching on TV, I was like why did I even like this man, he's not even cute!*hisses* sad

Business / Re: On Ebay: How to Prevent a Scammer From Bidding On My Auction? by IAH(f): 2:18am On Mar 12, 2006
Actually, there's no longer cause for alarm. I've blocked anyone who doesn't have Paypal from bidding on my auctions. That's the best way to prevent scammers and I think y'all should do the same. cheesy cheesy

Romance / Re: Slob Vs Neat Freak by IAH(f): 1:36am On Mar 12, 2006
Onyibaby:

Ok another question: WHAT MAKES A PERSON MESSY OR NEAT?
Do you think how aperson is raised determines a large part of how messy or clean he or she will be as an adult?

Onyi, from what I wrote you should see that how a person is raised has nothing to with it. These two children were raised by the same mother. One turned out to be a slob and the other turned out to be a neat freak. shocked

kimba:

those that are neat freaks or excessive neat-freaks are "obsessive-compulsive" peeps, in the medical terms. It is a mental disorder. Osama Bin Laden was one of such peeps, as a student.

On the other hand, dirty people have a different kind of problem too. I forgot the medical term.

they are 2-extremes, fingers are not equal, but in marriage, man, one has to shine his/her eyes wellu wellu.
Hmm, I don't know about the disorder but one thing I've noticed is that neat freaks are usually very very stingy and the slobs are usually careless with their things. They misplace their things easily.
Business / Re: What Business Would You Start Given Unlimited Capital? by IAH(f): 8:39am On Mar 11, 2006
larger_20:

Power is a relative problem so if u want to go to power, u will need intensive capital and its gona be limited too. Powers from dams alone cannnot power the whole nigeria.

Well, If I want to go into such, I won't be looking to power the whole of Nigeria. I'd just pick 1 or 2 money hotspots like Abuja, Lagos and power those two cities. That's enough! cool At least, mobile phone netwrok companies like MTN, Glo did not start by networking the whole of Nigeria. They first started with Lagos, Abuja and gradually moved to the rest, when possible.
Romance / Re: Slob Vs Neat Freak by IAH(f): 7:53am On Mar 11, 2006
I am in between the two and I tell you, these two people can be annoying. i.e. Neat Freak and Slob. My younger sister is a neat freak and tooooo organised. The moment you enter her room, she'll already be telling you where not to step, what not to touch, etc. If you don't leave it that way, she will nag you a lot. And you know what I do to her? I go to scatter her room deliberately. I will get on her well-laid bed and jump on it! Jump, jump, jump!! cheesy cheesy cheesy

On the other hand, my younger brother is a slob. I'm like Arrrgh! Can't you even clean your own toilet? Are you irritated by your very own sh*t? I used to help him clean his room before but I stopped because he is unappreciative. The fact that you helped him clean doesn't mean he won't still rain abuses on you. And he won't co-operate. If you say, don't go in because the floor is still wet, he won't answer, he would say "So I should not pass again because the floor is wet?" Imagine!

So you see both neat freaks and slobs are annoying.  angry angry cheesy

Family / Still Bearing Your Maiden Name After Marriage? by IAH(f): 8:09pm On Mar 10, 2006
Ladies, what do you think about women who get married and do not change their maiden names to their husband's names? Men, if your wife refuses to change her maiden name, how would you react to that?

Sometimes I just think my present name is sweet and I don't want to change it. cheesy

What will kill her, biko?

Seeing a TV for the first time, or seeing the daughter in a bikini on TV.

As much as you are trying to make your folks look and sound morally well positioned, you are on the other hand doing them a huge disfavour, making them look antiquated and laughable.

Of course, they are infact "antique". Who is arguing that they are not?

Anyway, ALL HAIL MISS LAGOS!!!

Well, I don't think it's about being firm or iron-handed. It's just that a typical Yoruba mother will develop heart attack and die immediately she sees her daughter strutting in a bikini on TV! cheesy cheesy cheesy

mochafella:

@uniben82

the debate about degradement or otherwise exists in almost every country where paegents take place. Even in the US there is an annual debate about the portrayal of women as "sexual objects". Also the last time Miss World was hosted in India, there were women setting themselves on fire to protest the paegent. So nope it is not "only in Nigeria".

Don't mind them, Mocha. They will say everything is Nigeria, nigeria nigeria. Meanwhile, it happens everywhere.

ababoy1:

I have never heard so much rubbish, Too rich and (or) too proper to be contestants?

Yes, too rich and too proper to be contestants. It's not rubbish, it makes sense. Hanhan, you are in Nigeria now. You know how people take the issue of unclothedness and exposing one's body, etc.
