Culture / Re: If Your Wife-To-Be Can't Cook by IAH(f): 11:02am On Feb 26, 2006
hayo:

Seun, I feel you but I believe there are still very intelligent and ambitious young women who still understand the simple principle - make your husband happy.
And one of those ways is to provide good meals for the family,  it is just a natural process that can't be over-emphasised. I don't fault your philosophy about eating out and having chefs, but you will need more than chefs when your wife can't cook - I am sure she also won't know other things and you will need a housegirl which in itself is a risk. Housegirls lure husbands, though some don't fall for the trick but they can also be bad influence on the kids. I prefer my house to be strictly me and my nuclear family. And do you think men are that lazy - no some of us are domesticated and believe me if we also want to leave our responsibilities like making sure power supply is in the house, keeping the lawn mowed, fixing all sorts of things, then we will have to hire a retinue of workers in the house.
For me, I will marry an intelligent, goal-getting babe who is also domesticated and I will make sure I help her in chores and do mine too. Some things are for men to fix in the house, period!

Wow! Hayo is a nice man! cheesy cheesy

dozie.f:

If she can't cook , let her be sure of going back to her father because there is a saying which says that "women education ends in the kitchen" if she can't cook that means she is useless and is going back to her parents. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Dozie, na wa for you o. I'm not surprised sha because your name says it all. I already know that's how you guys from that side think towards women.

Crime / Re: Christians Killing Muslims In Onitsha by IAH(f): 11:03pm On Feb 23, 2006
Seun:

Every murderer has a reason for his actions. That doesn't make it right. It's wrong. The fact that some "Christians" are supporting this barbaric act of killing innocent people shows that our "Christianity" is equal to hypocrisy. Christ said "turn the other cheek" but "Christians" are killing peace-loving muslims who live among them.

Turn the other cheek indeed. So the Igbos in Onitsha should turn their necks up for throat cutting as well, huh? How does that sound to you? Arrgh!
Crime / Re: Christians Killing Muslims In Onitsha by IAH(f): 10:20pm On Feb 23, 2006
Yes, they took laws into their own hands. But I think they were justified to do so.
I mean how on earth can you repay brutality with mercy? Even God whose mercy is reputed to extend deeper than the oceans does not reward brutality with mercy except if the brute(s) truly repent(s). How much more mere men? The people saying it was wrong to retaliate are just saying so because they know nobody among those who were innocently killed at first and thus have no feelings for them. If you know someone among them, I'm sure you won't be quickly forgiving like that. I know no one among them but I'm just ANGRY! Grrrrrrrrr! angry angry angry angry

Crime / Re: Christians Killing Muslims In Onitsha by IAH(f): 9:58pm On Feb 23, 2006
And I forgot to tell those who are preaching tolerance that tolerance is like elasticity, it might last long but it has its limit! No matter how peacful you are, when the other party is being constantly troublesome, a time would come when you stand up and say "Enough is Enough"!!!
Crime / Re: Christians Killing Muslims In Onitsha by IAH(f): 9:47pm On Feb 23, 2006
Hmm, I just had to vote 'Yes'. I mean I support it. The Christians/Igbos killed in the North were innocent, therefore tit-for-tat, the Muslims/Hausas killed in the South should also be innocent. It gives me annoyance anytime I hear that these extremists are killing innocent people in the North.
Helloooo, this is neither the first nor the second time. They have turned Igbos/Christians into goats that they can slaughter anyhow. When I was in Nigeria, I could count about 3 or 4 times I heard news of Christians being slaughtered in the North and I was always angry, I don't know why!
If Christians/Igbos show them the stuff they are made of by slaughtering all of the equally innocent Hausas/Muslims in the South, the Hausas/Muslims would think twice before slaughtering people next time.

The fallacy of "Two wrongs don't make a right" doesn't apply to this case at all. And hey!Vengeance can be very sweet!

This is barbaric, cruel and insane. And who is saying they are not animals. Anybody who engages in such horrible act or supports them or believes it is right is infact less than an animal. I wouldn't call such a person stubborn goat, I'd call him/her stubborn grass.
Romance / Re: To Marry Your First Love by IAH(f): 10:39am On Feb 20, 2006
Maxflame, I know somebody that got married to her first love. They've been married for 8 years now and as far as I know, they are an enviable couple. So your post is fallacy!

As for me, that used to be my fantasy in secondary school i.e. to marry my first love, but emmm, you see, emmmmm *coughs* I think Man proposes, God disposes. It's all good though! The major thing as far as I am concerned is not to have sex before marriage. I think it's almost as good as marrying your first love, right? cool

This myth/stereotype does not only surround the Ijebu ladies but also the Ijebu men. Other Yoruba sects generally believe that Ijebu people (men and women) are usually wicked to their spouses and they use jazz(voodoo) on their spouses. It's definitely a myth, or if it's a fact then it's an outdated fact because I know Ijebu guys and girls who are complete Ajebotas.
