Politics / Re: Iyabo Obasanjo: Why I Gave Up On My Dad by iamdsam: 1:43pm On Dec 22, 2013
I wonder if you're a Nigerian. This letter wouldn't have been made public if it was that personal as you think. The major issues that caused for this letter is about Nigeria as a whole. We need to get up and fight against our corrupt leaders who aren't ready to change but wanna remain in power forever if possible.
chi 3280: Well who cares? The story is already getting boring. Its their personal affair and their problem. I have my own problems with my daughter to deal with. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Religion / The Low Rave Towards Christmas In Nigeria In 2013 by iamdsam: 7:11pm On Dec 20, 2013
I don't know if you've noticed it but the rave towards christmas right here in Warri, Delta State is very dull and low key. It's not as it used to be where everybody seemed very happy and excited as the christmas fast approach. How is the rave towards christmas like in your area? @Nairalanders Source: http://dsamigho..com/2013/12/the-low-rave-towards-christmas-in.html

Data subscription in Nigeria isn't friendly to the masses (poor man). It's like it's meant for the rich and the rich alone. Our government need to have serious consideration about this.

Health / 20 Years Old And Diabetic. A Nairalander Who Is Type 1 Diabetic by iamdsam: 2:14pm On Dec 16, 2013
Diabetes is an illness which has different types and has been given numerous definitions by people. I've been diabetic for 2 years now and life hasn't been easy. In case you're wondering about the definition, let me give you the definition. What is Diabetes?
According to one Dr Ananya Mandal,
Diabetes is a condition where the body fails to utilize the ingested glucose properly. This could be due to lack of the hormone insulin or because the insulin that is available is not working effectively. http://www.news-medical.net/health/What-is-Diabetes.aspx Type 1 diabetes as defined by me is when the pancreas fails to produce insulin probably because the pancreatic cells are dead due to some reactions in the body thereby leading to high sugar levels. Life hasn't been easy living with diabetes at a young age of 20 starting at 18. It has affected my life in all ways. I'll post other topics related to type 1 diabetics later. Please take case of your health. Your health is everything @Nairalanders

Nairaland / General / Re: Why Am I Poor??? by iamdsam: 10:48am On Dec 16, 2013
I must confess that I learnt from this your advice. I pray God to give me the grace.
ukandi1: A lot of reasons can explain why u are in penury.
1, Risk...
A lot of people are poor cos they refuse or are afraid of taking risk. Ask urself, how much worthwhile risk do u take in ur life with ur finances and common sense? No risk, No reward.
2, Extravagance....
how well do u spend d little cash u have? Do u spend it chasing shadows and digging ur grave or u spend with wisdom vis a vis ur monthly income? This is one area that has drained many people. Do u try to impress by spending carelessly? Answer that question urself.
3, Priorities.....
What are those things u consider indispensable that wil take cash away from u without returning it? You shud be able to seperate ur LIABILITIES from ASSETS.. DO u acquire liabilities? Liabilities would remove cash from u and make u poor. ASSETS may take cash from u but wil return it if not immediately, definitely later. Cut down ur liabilities and u wil pick up.

4, Wisdom..
Spending money with wisdom or being wise enof to identify opportunities that wil generate money for u is very crucial. Common sense they say is not common. God said if u need wisdom, u shud ask him. Bible say. '' Get wisdom and in all ur gettings, get Understanding.

5, Tithe.....
Do u pay ur tithe? Do u believe in d principle of sowing and reaping? Xtians and muslims understand that principle. If u are a xtian, i will ask u, do u pay ur tithes to God? Do u rob God and expect him to rebuke d devourer for ur sake? Its a simple thing, start paying ur tithes and be faithful in doing so and see what miracles God wil perform for u. Eating ur tithe is synonymous with eating ur destiny.
Your family is poor so that u wil be rich. U have no reason whatsoever to be poor infact it is criminal of u to try to ..
The list is by no means exhaustive, infact this is just a scratch..other comments from nairalanders would be of help for sure.
Above all God's blessings maketh rich and added no sorrow. Ask God to bless u.
Gudluck.
Nairaland / General / Why Am I Poor??? by iamdsam: 7:12pm On Dec 15, 2013
I don't know which section is best to post this topic but I just got to post it somewhere. Poverty has numerous definitions and understanding by many. I'm so broke that I can't even save in my bank account which has been deactivated after I've failed to save in it. Right now am so broke that I urgently need something legitimate doing that will yield me money. Though am from a poor family but I don't see any reason to languise in poverty. I'm poor right now. I want to know from you my fellow Nairalanders why am poor. I need your suggestions on how I can overcome this. Why am I poor? @Nairalanders
Sports / Re: Brazil 2004: Why Super Eagles Are Not Ready For The World Cup by iamdsam: 3:57am On Dec 15, 2013
Nigeria can win the world cup but my main concerns are our defence which needs to to be worked on in a very serious way and we should also try by all means not to easily concede goals.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Airbrushed Out Of Mandela’s Life Story by iamdsam: 9:08pm On Dec 12, 2013
Bank Manager: That's why we ought to concentrate more on "National Policy" than "Foreign Policy"..There were many challenges in Nigeria from the 70s upward.Even though we had a buoyant economy, instead of developing our country FIRST,we started helping others.
Not that it's wrong but we spent millions of dollars fighting colonialists in South Africa,Mozambique,Angola and a host of others.
Today,SA is more developed than Nigeria. They played host to the world cup years ago while we are still dragging to host cadet competitions like the U-17 Championship.Their schools are world class yet, here in Nigeria,we are still battling with strike, dragging for who will fund our schools..The same FG that started helping others in the 70's took over our "regional varsities" and started "under-funding" them.No thanks to the Military men who never knew the value of education. We posed a GIANT POSTURE to other countries yet we failed to apply the principle of "NIGERIA FIRST before others."Our roads, health and power sectors are nothing to write home about..It's high time the Nigerian govt rise up to it's challenges. It's never too late to turn things around. It's hign time we kick away ethnicity, come together, build a national government we all can be proud of and above all, retain our status as the true giant of Africa..!
You've said it all. You're so right.

If gaming is why you qualify the tecno phone as trash then I'll advice you in Osho Baba's words to "go and die".
