lol abi anyway i loovvee old english settings/victorian era most of my early authors were british infact i started with shakespeare and dickens

I love historical setting but I don't like when its about poor people and their poverty, social injustice. I can't deal ,I already have Nigeria for that. I usually prefer stories about nobles and royal families.

Even for sageuks I only watch the ones about royals or rich people, if its about the poor or slaves biko count me out too much depression grin

I have tried to let the forced kiss in E09 bother me, but its not happening. I saw the two different version aired and i was okay with it. Because, trust me worst still going to happen. So this forced kiss is nothing compared to what's coming. Then again, Its Joseon, where a king gets himself a lot of consorts, foul around with court ladies. I don't expect much sense from that era.

The only issue I have is Wang so sense of possession. Now he views Su as his property. And congratulations to Su for unleashing the monster.

That romance btw Wook and Su. I was actually okay with it o, when lady Hae was alive. Now when I see them hold hands, I literally scream NO, DON'T DO THAT. Its sorta uncomfortable for me to watch. I don't know why.

I had no issues with the forced kiss too until I went online and people were writing thesis on it.Lol Like you said it's Goyreo era nothing is normal.
Su falling for wook while her (past) sister was alive is not normal.
The writer dragging the wook ship till ep 9 is not normal (sometimes I forget who is main lead and second lead)
People ostracizing So cause of a scar so faint they have to tell you its there is not normal.
All the slaps Su has been chopping ever sine she entered palace is not normal.
Etc

PS:I have seen the forced kiss thingy not only in dramas but american series and movies apparently it's a "thing".(kiss her by force till she responds). what these writers don't know is its slap that usually is the response and disgust.

no no dont watch the handmaiden, that movie scarred me bad, now im thinking of giving up on books cos ignorance is bliss, if i didnt know how good the book was i might have enjoyed the movie but alas i did read it and watching the movie was like drinking cat piss after you had a nice cappucino or something

aswr the things scriptwriters do to books when they wanna adapt it to movies eh is appalling. They will just ruin everything. The best thing is just to read the book and ditch the movie.
I just started the book (finger smith) and it seems okay. don't care for the Dickensian setting tho.

Bosslady for the eBook you can try this download this app general eBook reader. open it search for the book(fingersmith) by Sarah Walters click download. its free, and you can use it to download any other books you want, it usually has most them.

I don't just get it. Y is the rating for moon lovers still dropping. What is wrong with these Korean pple. Y are their thinking so myopic. Am totally enjoying this drama and despite wat dey say about IU, I think she is doing a good job. She is way better dan Suzy. I think this is so unfair esp towards Lee Jun Ki. I think Koreans should look past their ill feelings for IU and just enjoy the drama. It's totally worth it.

PS: I know it has been mentioned several times but Suzy was really terrible in UF. It was as if she injected Botox on her face. She couldn't express anger or sadness or even drunkenness. It really made me uncomfortable. But am actually enjoying her acting right now in Gu family book.

We all know scarlet heart is great and Iu is better but Koreans can hold a grudge. And Netizens like the idea of them controlling stars careers

M very sorry if I sounded arrogant...I've witnessed on several occasions where nurses insult doctors and tell them they don't know what they're doing..To be sincere, I don't lyk it...They(nurses) behave as if they know it all except few....I know what m saying....Most nurses hate doctors and I don't know why.....One thing about life is that u should be contented with what u have and give honour to whom honour is due...I, myself, respect the nurses..Doctors respect them too...I know nursing is a nice profession but they should know their limits....A nurse is not a doctor and can never be a doctor...Thanks..
I do see your point too and i can tell ur not arrogant since you were humble enough to apologize after you were made to see your fault. tanks

Nursing is a good course but don't compare nurses with doctors....They are not mates....If u want to be a nurse, then be a nurse.. Most, if not all nurses always behave like this...Trying to prove they are equal to or even better of than doctors...RUBBISH...
You totally misconstrued wat @joseph1 sed which was if u try to gain admission into mbbs with no success but u still ave the passion to work in a hospital and help sick ppl do the next best which is nursing which as joseph1 earlier mentioned was more practical than anatomy physiology etc. especially in Nigeria. (i mean wat other reason should we study to bcome health care providers if not to provide adequate care to the unwell).
Lastly, i think u sounded arrogant and probably lyk those doctors who treat nurses lyk they dont matter.
No wonder ppl are hardly interested in nursing even though they'll be better off as nurses instead of doctors.

EINSTEINPG: I understand your burning desire for MEDICINE but you've got to weigh your options wisely.
Well, we all have our childhood dreams, I can still remember when nothing interested me more than being a quantum physicist after reading the IN SEARCH OF SCHRÖDINGER'S CAT by John Gribbin and Stephen Hawking's A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME. But age comes with experience and experience comes with age. Hence, the need for a re-evaluation of my dream.
Come to think of it, when in primary school every child wants to become a Doctor, Banker, Pilot, Lawyer, an Engineer, and a Politician etc. Not knowing that there are numerous number of PROFESSIONS besides those so-called traditionally perceived professions. Yes, those fields readily come to our unsuspecting minds courtesy of their popularization by the ill-informed and biased society.
Indeed, MEDICINE is a noble profession that commands the respect of the society. But the reality is: medicine is full of bureaucracies and bureaucracy cripples innovation except you are of the Ben Carson's gene.
I personally see Doctors as Advanced Technicians that work monotonously on a given medical condition (Doctors, please do not interpret this as an outright denigration of your ever indispensable services to the society). In Medicine you dare not question the orthodoxical precepts governing medical operations. And I perfectly understand the rationale for that, because a Doctor's professional mistake is rarely pardonable as this could result to a loss of life. The infamous Dr. Conrad Murray--a victim of circumstances who was globally blamed for the death of Jackson could attest to this.
In contrast, a professional mistake in some fields does not instantly lead to a loss of life e.g.The recent General Motors' recall of vehicles over the Ignition Switch and parking brake risk fire.
No!! Don't get me wrong. Of course, if you are a medical researcher you can always come up with novel solutions to medical problems. But I don't think you are considering this option.
Now, as a Plant Biologist innovation is the key to proffer solutions to the threatening pangs of hunger that await the world's teeming and growing population.
Statistically, the world population is currently seven Billion. By 2030 India's population is expected to surpass China's to become the largest country in the world.
Also, the Nigeria's population is expected to surpass the U.S population in 2045 to become the third most populous country in the world, starting to rival China by the end of the century, with almost 1 billion people in 2100.
As the world's population continues to grow, achieving global food security-producing enough nutritious food that everyone can access, and doing so sustainably is one of the greatest challenges we face today.
By 2050, it is projected that there will be 9.2 billion people on the planet, and recent estimates suggest that food production will have to increase by 70% if we are to feed everyone. So the question remains: How do we feed our growing population?
If policy makers want to address this question, Plant Biology and Agricultural Engineering might be a better investments than computer science or medicine. And this will inevitably lead to mass employment of Plant Biology graduates. So if only you will expand your horizon and see opportunities where there currently seems to be none, Plant Biology is a potentially rewarding career as you will be saving the current generation and the posterity.
As a Plant Biologist, you can choose to work closely with Agric experts to eliminate world hunger and create a world where everyone has equal access to nutritious food.
Evidently, recent analysis of job prospects for Biology-related fields' students reveal that among life sciences, Plant Biology is emerging as one of the areas for career and research globally. And there are variety of specializations and disciplines within the field of Plant Biology that can lead to interesting career from pharmaceutics to food sciences.
So what are you waiting for? Just get out of your deterministic world of Newton and get into the weird quantum world of Heisenberg.
Besides, you might not be so lucky next year (but if you insist on taking another UTME, then good-luck to you), just improvise with what you have now to augment what is to come in the future. After all, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Wow only @einstepg can draw out a silver lining out of d most drastic admission situation.
I mean after sympatizing with our guy @khan1993 he basically opened our eyes to the merit of studying a course lyk plant biology which most of us thought was an irrelevant course. Yes medicine is a noble
profession cuz yeah we get 2 save lives, but as the g
uru here has mentiond studying by plant biology u get to do research and bring forth innovations on how to improve agriculture, food supply that will feed billions of people for years to come, even drugs to cure diseases are discovered. Now who is saving more lives.
i'll advice u try out d course cuz i blieve God does all things for a reason(cuz u neva can tell u might be the one who cures the world of hunger ,aids, ebola, etc. sometin a doctor will neva do). But if u still arent interested u can always write another jamb.
Lastly sir Einstenpg alot of freshers whose courses got switched cud learn alot from u and i ask dat u continue to dole out ur words of wisdom to all those that need them.
ps: UNILORIN STOP THE TORTURE AND CLEAR US ALL!!!!

i've been coming 2 this site for some time, basically reading other ppls post which always made me wish i'd joined sooner. i've come 2 read insightful thoughts from alot of nairalanders (doctor 20002 rkarang einstenpeg etc)But i ave now summoned the courage and strenght( i'm lazy that way) to share my own xperience.
Well after graduating 2012 i wrote jamb, applied 4 unilorin mbbs and i scored 221 which didnt meet the cut off for mbbs. i said 2 myself well i'm still young, i'll try again next yr.Following yr wrote jamb, scored 201 but jamb ruined my result switched my physics to econs completely rendering the result useless, after that wrote unilag exam diploma entrance exams scored 70 didnt make cut off 4 mbbs(which was 83) unilag dumped me even after tryin 4 change of course for chemistry.
2014 wrote another jamb scored 263 wrote unilorin post utme scored 82 and made the merit list 4 mbbs thank God!.
At the end what i'll like 2 say is that what will be will be, and at the end the 2 yrs i spent at home were beneficial to me cuz i learnt alot nd i feel this is my time ,the time. im suppossed to gain admission to unilorin to study medicine cuz this year was totally hassel free didnt ave 2 beg anybody 4 admission(well i did beg God) or pay money for favors i got it on my own right.
