Autos / Re: White Colour Vehicle by ibadan1(m): 9:40am On May 07, 2016
White Cars are ideal for Nigeria because the colour reflects heat, therefore the cars interior will be cooler. In the west white cars have been slightly cheaper than others just due to demand for the colour lagging behind demand for other colours, but in recent times the popularity of white cars have gone up and there are no price differences anymore.

I sometimes despair at the lack of compassion I read on this site. This thread has restored my faith and has proved me wrong. God Bless all

Are you serious what planet do you live on, these people have carried out a catalogue of atrocities towards Nigerians, how many safety violations in the industries they control have maimed Nigerians and how many have they then dismissed with no compensation, ask any person who has worked in an Indian manufacturing company in Nigeria. Our complex knows no bounds

Koolking: Last I checked, foreigners who own businesses in Nigeria don't exploit Nigerians, but Nigerians in the helm of affairs of these companies exploit fellow Nigerians and give the foreigners the impetus to treat Nigerians as 'menstrual pads'. Selfishness and 'oga takes it all' syndrome by privileged Nigerians is the bane of our growth.

This topic is insipid and reek of hate.

As Usual people like Frosbel miss the point, I have just gone through his posts and can by deduction conclude as to his mind set, a company has caused the deaths of 153 people though negligence and a lack of respect for the its clients and he calls me a racist. I have been to India numerous times for work and can conclude that Hinduism the predominant religion of Indians says you are sub human because of the colour of your skin and you call me racist. Of course our government is has a lot to answer for, but my point is there has been a catalogue of atrocities by these people towards Nigerians and thus they must as go.

Because of their exploitation of our glorious country, their treatment of our citizens as near slaves, I am proposing the Ugandan solution for Indian Nationals and companies who expolit us in Nigeria. INDIA MUST GO

Please join me in petitioning our government to expel these people. We need economic partners who will yreat us with respect and dignity and not exploit us.

INDIA MUST GO

Hopefully I wont bankrupt myself next summer so far I've arrange 3 trackdays already. Cant wait to drive the R8 V10 if the V8 is that good considering I drove it and a vantage back to back, the vantage became instantly unimpressive and slow compared to the R8

Car Talk / Re: 2010 Volkswagen Touareg Vs 2010 BMW X5. by ibadan1(m): 8:22pm On Apr 18, 2011
All the best within your purchase Just think with oil prices going the way they are, 30mpg for an everyday car is a minimum, currently looking to upgrade to a 530d 07 that sucker does 45 mpg and the grunt oh boy, so you can have your cake and eat it. Also partial to the CLS but don't think its practical enough as will only carry 4, plus the fact that I'm a BMW man at heart.
In reference to the perception of BMW drivers the Guru Mr Jeremy Clarkson says because of this perception all former BMW drivers are now buying Audis so the Audi is taking up said perception. saw a Q7 V12 diesel the other day didn't know they made one it was a thing to behold and I cannot begin to imagine, the power of the thing if the R50 can tow a 747, this must be able to tow an A380.
Car Talk / Re: 2010 Volkswagen Touareg Vs 2010 BMW X5. by ibadan1(m): 5:47pm On Apr 18, 2011
I drive a 10 year old BMW 330i as my every day car and I can say from experience no other manufacturer makes a 6 cylinder that performs and sounds as satisfying as BMW, and I have at one time or another driven them all. It is an awesome engine; I will not argue about other aspects of the car, beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. But men that engine even after 10 yrs puts a smile on my face every time I stomp it

I understand the old X5’s have GM transmissions which would be the weakness in the whole setup, but not sure if the GM transmission was retained in the new one.

Also with the present economic climate one cannot discount the price of petrol, I have test driven the new X5 4.0d sport. Performance betters the petrol and it returns 38mpg (manufactures claimed numbers). And lastly it actually sounds like a V8, if this is too rich for your blood, then the 3.0d sport has the 3 litre diesel with twin turbos and also returns 38mpg. Also resale value on the Touregs are not very resilient

Autos / Re: Which State Is Least Racist And Low For Gun Crime. by ibadan1(m): 3:46pm On Oct 27, 2010
From the list you provided New Jersey and New york are about the same although you did not say if this was New York City or New York state which is very rural and vast. For the best prospects in terms of Jobs and least racist I would say Maryland. its big enough so you can avoid our people just don't move to silver spring and its environs or you will think you are in Lagos. Avoid the new England states for racism. Delaware is quiet but not sure about job prospects. Chicago nice parts are very expensive but job prospects are not that good. Depends on what you want really, they all have good and bad points.

Mr Louis with due respect, from the pictures you can see this is a left hand drive unless I am mistaken. You can register a LHD car in the uk with no issues, your insurance may be higher than normal but you can walk into any UK dealership and order a LHD and register it in the UK. A few people who plan to ship the cars home actually do this. What I am trying to point out is that costs in the UK between buying a used RHD and a used  LHD vary greatly. The link you provided is to RHD cars, if you search for a LHD of the same car you will find that they cost much more than the RHD equivalent.

This is a more realistic link and I looked for the cheapest one I could find, add shipping and clearing and you get the picture, you do not expect the seller to give the car away, do you ?

Mr LouisThoru your statements and links are not fair at all, have you actually looked for this car in Left Hand Drive, yes you can get a Right Hand drive for 2k sterling but you cannot get this in Left hand drive in the UK at anything near that price believe me I have looked. If you can find one Please let me know.

wow thanks a million for the info will be in touch now i have your mobile. the cost of LHD cars in the uk borders on being robbery when compared to the equivalent RHD will continue my research to see if its cheaper to get one from the US. only issue is logistics. thanks again for the info.

Hi Siena did not mean to insinuate that you are a grandpapa. im a mid sixties guy myself and find that driving  a manual in london traffic is a bit lke pulling teeth without novocain
can you recommend a car make that is real easy to convert about year 2000 thanks. saw on one of your other posts that the 406 is not modular construction thus is not easy to convert
Car Talk / Re: Why Do I Always Find Babyboys In The Mechanic Workshop? by ibadan1(m): 11:54am On Jul 03, 2010
Thanks Siena actually used to belong to the now defunct Group B car club had a mid engined renault 5 turbo 2 beforethe Alpine the missus made me sell it said i was paying it too much attention, from your posts I deduce you are still at an age where you like shifting (driving a Manual) the older you get like me the more you realize that autos are the way to go, you havent lived till you have gotten stuck in stop and start traffic on western avenue for 4 hours. Thats why Nigerins are so into thier Autos.
