deeptesting: You did not tell us what and why he is been tortured by the UK government........Or should we be expecting the second story or has Nairaland ban you from posting the reason for this inhuman treatment ? I beg no vex park your car well make I reverse my plane exit the thread.

Dear DeepTesting,

There are so many reasons why someone can be persecuted without reason or the person knowing what they have done, examples include:

1. Racism;
2. Mistaken identity and when the authority realises their mistake, instead of apologising they decide to carry on; hoping the person (me, in this case) would give up, commit some other crime etc.

Unfortunately for them and fortunately for me, I have not and will not commit any crime... reversing and running will not help your brother.

Please any further question can be presented in the other post.

@ztutulai:

As you can see from the picture, access to solicitors have been blocked against me...

ztutulai: since 2007 and no reasons given yet?.I find that hard to believe.
You might be on some sort of watch list.
You need to get a lawyer friend to write to the home office on your behalf so they can explain exactly what the problem is as it might just be a case of mistaken identity..
You also have the option of returning to Nigeria and continue life as you are not progressing due to all the limitations allegedly placed on you here
I will be praying for you.

I wish it was that straightforward...I would like to know the reason for the problem since 2007. I have already written to the Home Office in 2009; and the Home Secretary responding stating that I was not under any order but that it is possible that covert activities are been carried out against me...I kept quite hoping that the investigation if any would finish and I would carry on with my life...and that is till today...

For me, I am not leaving this country until I get to the bottom of the problem; my leaving would equate to walking into a blind alley, as I do not know what would happen next...if they can disobey the law in the UK, what would happen to me in Nigeria?

raqueal: Are you trying to garner sympathy because you are a christian and a kidney transplant patient? No one will witch hunt you without any reason.

I just stated the truth....and more importantly, the torture and persecution is inimical to my fundamental human rights...and it is not bad to be proud of one's religion. Thanks anyway

Innocent Chukwuma is a Christian and a kidney transplant patient, who will be 40 years old in 2014. Find attached below a picture of me protesting in front of the Nigeria High Commission London on 23 August 2013.

And he has been inhumanly treated since 2007; please note that the UK govt has refused to tell him the reason behind his torture; despite his asking repeatedly. Also, note that he is in the UK legally. The list of atrocious violations of his civil and human rights includes:

1. intimate Torture - The Home Secretary has ensured that he does not have any intimate relationship with a female since 2007

2. Psychological and Mental Torture - The Home Secretary has refused to inform Innocent Chukwuma of the reason behind his torture and abuse since 2007; and this has led to his constant worry about why he should be made to suffer for NOT having committed any crime.

3. The Home Secretary has stopped him from marrying (and/or having a partner) and founding a family; thereby denying him his right under Article 12 of the European Convention on Human Rights;

4. The above means that he has been stopped from having a child/children; imagine what it would feel like to be denied the joy of having your own child;

5. He has been kept under 24/7 surveillance (at home, work, driving, everywhere) since 2007; and they defame his person by the use of gossips, innuendos, outright falsehood and unfounded allegation;

6. And this has led to his been ostracised and disliked in his community;

7. Innocent Chukwuma made a Distinction in his Masters Degree, yet the Home Secretary has blocked him from seeking and obtaining employment, by the use of harassment, intimidation etc of prospective employers;

8. He has also been hindered from running his UK company, by the use of intimidation of his prospective customers, discriminatory higher prices targeted at him and outright dishonesty of employees of the Home Secretary;

9. Interruption, interception and disturbance of his communications (posts, emails, telephone conversations, social networking and other online activities), even time-sensitive court papers are deliberately delayed;

10. He is been intimidated, harassed etc even within court premises; also judicial officers are been harassed and intimidated in cases involving him;

11. And many more...

All these are been carried out against a Christian, who has neither committed a crime nor told what he has done to deserve these inhuman treatments. And is an assault on his freedom and fundamental human rights.

Remember, these inhuman treatments has been on-going since 2007; AND TODAY IT IS INNOCENT CHUKWUMA; TOMORROW, IT MIGHT BE YOU, YOUR CHILD, FRIEND, OTHER LOVED ONES etc.

Travel / Re: Many Nigerians Living In Nigeria Hate Nigerians In Diaspora, Jealous Much? by ibezomamyahoo(m): 2:56pm On Aug 26, 2013
bellong: The principal problem of Nigeria still remain Nigerians.

The custom officer who molested travellers at the airport is a Nigerian. The police collecting bribe on the street and killing those who refused to pay is a Nigerian. The permanent secretary of a ministry who sits on government contract and collude with minister to divert fund is a Nigerian.

The civil servant who demands a tip before doing the job he is paid for is a Nigerian. The mechanic who cheats a car owner in order to get more money from him is a Nigerian. Students that are supposed to be studying to become better in solving problems in their country but are busy finding a way of short-changing the system are Nigerians. Pastors sweet-talking their congregation to collect the members' hard earned money are Nigerians... Bankers diverting customers' money are Nigerians.

In all the above listed, I have not mentioned the evils of government because the government of any country is a reflection of the followers.

We need a value re-orientation in the country to kill this get-rich syndrome that has eaten deep into the heart of everybody including religious houses.

Only Nigerians can save themselves from themselves.

Only the truth, such as your post, shall set us [Nigerians] free...
We are always busy pointing fingers at the failure of other Nigerians, while overlooking our contribution to the level of overall failure in Nigeria...

East, West, North or South...there can never be a place like home...the day jennykardy experiences racism and/or other unfair treatment on the basis of her colour, race, nationality etc, she would wish to return to Nigeria...

On a final note, the biggest problem in Nigeria is the way we treat our fellow Nigerians; and when you add tribalism...I will rest my case. NIGERIANS REMAIN THE BIGGEST PROBLEM OF NIGERIA. Thanks

Politics / Re: How Would You Manage Corruption In Nigeria If You Are President? by ibezomamyahoo(m): 8:07pm On Jul 29, 2013
Phlegmwash: Funny how this was the interview question I was asked after NYSC..I got the job though but later declined the offer..here are the 10 points I raised:

1. Decentralize the FG in order words make the presidency unattractive to would-be opportunist. This can be achieved by the practice of "true" federalism where all federating units (FU) are self sustaining.

2. Now, there would be an healthy competition among the federating units(FU). Good thing is FUs are closer to the people and would be forced to be accountable to the people they are mandated to serve.

3. Anti-corruption agencies should be independent of the FUs.

4. Chairman of the Electoral Commission should be appointed by the Council of the Supreme Court Judge.

5. Key decisions like Constitution Amendment, salary and emoluments of public officials should be put up for Referendum.

6. The Police welfare should be improved upon and any policeman found wanting would be summarily dismissed.

7. Campaign fund of politicians should be audited by independent firms like KPMG etc.

8. All politicians must be mandated to declare their assets before and after taking an elective post (ditto for appointed positions)

9. No elected official should seek medical help abroad. Ditto for education for their kids. If they must, it should not be at the expense of tax payers.

10. Capital punishment for corruption offenders.

NB:Stuffs like NEPA project, road construction contracts, etc which have gulped down billions of dollar without
commensurate improvement in service delivery will all be handled by FUs. Some states depends on hand-outs from FG (in the current arrangement), such states will be on their toes and devise a plan to harness her own resources. NO STATE IN NIGERIA IS WITHOUT RESOURCES!

Your suggestion appears plausible, until you realise that it is people that will staff the system; and as long the people manning the system are corrupt, the system will not work.

The problem with Nigeria is not lack of projects, systems etc...the problem is implementation which directly means the people manning (in charge of) the systems...until we (each village, community, town, state etc) are able to use our collective power (not force) to bear on the corrupt, we will be wasting our time...

You talk about FUs and bringing power to the states etc...please today, is there no corruption at the state and local government levels of government In fact at the LGA, what you have is mostly people that colect their federal allocation, pay salary, if they feel like and pocket the rest...take time to check around you...how many times have your LGA Chairman been held to account, despite the millions s/he collects each month on your behalf from the FG

p'scott:
With the current state of corruption in Nigeria, if you are made the first citizen of Nigeria i.e the president by appointment or by election.How would u help to curb or manage the high-increasing rate of corruption? So, you can share your own contribution to this thread,let's see if your contribution can be the solution to the problem of corruption in our country.

The issue of corruption is, unlike most people think, a problem caused by all Nigerians...and it stems from the fact that we, as a nation, no longer ask an important question: WHAT IS HIS/HER JOB? HOW DID S/HE MAKE SO MUCH MONEY IN SUCH A SHORT TIME (AND MOST TIMES, THE OVERNIGHT RICH HAVE NOTHING TANGIBLE DOING!)...yet nobody bothers to know how such came about their wealth, preferring to be a partaker rather than risk the ire of the overnight rich and be sidelined...

And even when someone asks the necessary questions, you will find some shameless nonentity (otimkpu) asking the questioner to keep quiet; others attribute such question to jealousy etc...

Until we go back to the time honoured tradition of parents calling their child/ren inside and first inquiring how they came about their money...we would be wasting time with the pretend fight against corruption...

*A man whose salary is N80K per month comes back after 2 yrs on the job with a car worth 3 million; and no one asks question, rather the entire community comes out for thanksgiving in a CHURCH! Abeg o God no sabi thief thief money o!

*A political leader suddenly starts spraying money during a ceremony/celebration and everyone cheers, no one asks "Hang on, is it not our money this guy is spraying; rather you have the otimkpus (comprising most of the community giving him a title)" etc

The examples are inexhaustible...as these things are allowed to happen; the young realises that no one is bothered about the source of wealth, rather that it should be obtained by any means necessary..hence, corruption will keep eating into our national fabric, until we start naming and shaming those whose source of their wealth is questionable...until our communities start ostracising the questionably rich and embracing only the honest and those who can account for the source of their wealth; WE WILL BE WASTING OUR TIME IN THE CONVOLUTED FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION!

Akindavi: My problem is just that i don't know the skill to get involved with.
Am in 300level studying accounting and don't even have a good grade.
Plz i don't mind if i can get help here

Hello, the question is: what are you good at? What do you like doing? What do you want to do?

At 300L, you might think that you have wasted too much time, but believe me you are better off changing course now, I mean right now; instead of continuing along an alley, you don't like...

You need to fisrt answer the 3 questions above, then we can progress...

Hello dear, you are on point...nothing can mess a person's education like finance (lack of,)...Just keep on keeping on, do not dwell on the problems, but move above it and progress... it shall be well

2sexy:
shey na people wey dey cram to pass? Abeg, leave that matter. My roommate always dwell on past question because most lecturers often repeat what they had set before. Well his grades are better than mine.

This not to say that I can' t do better than he. I had a serious emotional struggle at the start of my HND program due to the lose of my mother and as a result, I was alway thinking of where to get money from and this affected my grades. But this same me did superbly well at OND... I guess this explain why most people grad with poor grades.
