End of banditry is still very near. grin grin grin grin

When leader honour criminals publicly what should we expect? Many others will follow the same path definitely.

I believe this is enough inspiration for many jobless youths.

Compared to the years of "tactical manurvering" by the army while Bokoharam kept on capturing territories, we can actually say that the Bokoharam crisis has greatly improved. The terrorist shy away from direct confrontation with the military especially where there is a strong garrison and now focus on soft targets and ambush on military patrol teams. The last time they confronted the military in mongunno months ago. It may be because of the raining seasons Sha but still doesn't change the fact that the frequency of such large scale attacks have greatly reduced. It is shameful that we are being defensive though.
Kidnapping is same as before, the kidnappers just moved out of Kogi state to Kaduna and there is more extensive media coverage than before. But banditry has been treated with recklessness and it is far worse than it used to be.

The issue of banditry and kidnapping in north west is likely to get worse. There is no magic anyone will perform because so many activities of their leaders, lifestyle of the people, illiteracy, poverty, Almagiri, etc only favour more kidnapping/banditry activities.

People depend on security agencies for help but the truth is they will only arrive after the incident. The only improvement we will see from the north In a long time is how military and other agencies respond to threat.

Now let's add the fact that their communities are full of ignorant people leaving law to be made by illiterate that think they know everything because have very little islamic knowledge.

Or imagine the issue of zamfara where Ex-governor so empowered vigilante group with weapons and power without caution. They tasted power and knew they can do and undo without anyone disturbing them. By the time media started covering their activities it was already too late.

So many unspeakable activities happen within the northern communities that won't let banditry/kidnapping go away easily. You can even write a book about them.

oga..you are always quick to insult people from what I see...but atimes a foolish man would always think he know more than every other person...!!

You don't come here with some idiotic character and talk nonesense to people ..we all have our opinion and never warrant an insult if i do not agree with yours...!!

You got that irritating character in you and pls do not mention me again....just pass and follow your way simple...!!

You think everything is about APC and PDP...with the way things are going now a time would come when all that matters is to stay alive...!!

Who is discussing APC vs PDP shit with you? All my responses have being about military and security agencies and not president or political parties. We were simple comparing worse times and bad times.

I witnessed effects of three different bomb blast here in Abuja and I don't need anyone to tell me how security have improved in this corner of the world.

It's very clear that security agencies are better prepared to tackle crimes now than before. Soldiers are better motivated to fight, we see better results from operations carried out.

Back then kids get kidnapped and we take weeks to confirm if they were truly missing and a whole lot of unspeakable things that happened back then.

Everything happening in the north west is not new and we all knew it will come to this level and will even get worse. It's just simple logic/reasoning. The question is how is the military tackling it the daily occurrence? Is there improvement?

I don't give a fucck about APC VS PDP contest and am not a member of any political party.

Don't just try to use politics to claim points just defend what you wrote AGBAYA. and I repeat you sound fooliiish. STOP MISLEADING PEOPLE.

i swear the beginning of argument made me understand something's and now am just confused as fvck..
does a ship having four torpedoes tubes mean it just have torpedoes or it's just a useless statement..

It's possible to have more if there is space for it in frigate. It all depends on requirements of the navy that is buying but in bigger warships (destroyer) there is usually enough space for carry extra weapons of different kinds for reload.

The weight of average frigate is 2000+ton but weight of average destroyer is 6000+ ton. The size, weight, crew, weapons on board, etc make the difference.

I never argued that Aradu wasn't a destroyer, I simply stated that the Meko360 and Meko200 are in the same class.

It's Dragon2 that claimed Aradu is somehow more effective and independent when it comes to full 4 dimensional warfare vs the Meko200...... This is what I had a problem with since it is entirely not true.

That should solve the problem.

It's not entirely true and dragon2 might agree with that too because he called it a mini destroyer and we know there is no class like that.

It's either a frigate or a destroyer. The Nigeria navy called it a frigate but Argentines called it a destroyer. Cos it's a little in-between in it days (about 40 years ago).

Don't forget Dragon2 also realize it's not a full destroyer as well and he called it a mini destroyer in it days not in modern time.

Infact, the original argument which was very educative to see the arguments of both sides was that Aradu is or could be considered to be a Destroyer more than a Frigate.

It was not about which is more modern than the other.

Looking at the definition of a Destroyer, what capabilities does the Aradu bring in, Dragon2 was arguing that based on the Aradu's full spectrum capability, one could argue that during her hay days, she was a Destroyer. Also remember that the Nigerian navy had 2 or 3 ASW dedicated lynx helicopters also embarked on the Aradu.

It was interesting to read both sides of the argument for and against the notion.

In my opinion I don't think the Aradu is a Destroyer, but you can see that while the US navy classifies the WASP which carries up to 24 units of 5th Generation fighter jets as an LHD, the Queen Elizabeth which carries practically the same complement of F-35s is classified as an Aircraft carrier.

So, there is an important, educative argument to be had. Just like with the Aradu Destroyer argument.

You're very correct. That was the argument that started everything. And it was really nice.

you and the other nicompoo have finally disgraced your ancestry.

are you happy now?
This is really bad and not expected from you.

Both side have their claims which makes it interesting but they argue from different angles.

A 2003 corolla is better that a 1980 Camry when it comes to technology. It might even be bigger than the Camry in size but that doesn't make the Camry less than a corolla.

Aradu is old just as the technology is old. Refitting Aradu with recent tech cost almost twice the price of new Meko200.

A recent corolla will have a lot of features that the a 1980 Camry doesn't have.

To be sincere it might be better in everything because of the improvements in technology over time. and for this reason the other guys too have a point.
So Aradu can't do what the meko200 will do because it will carry better sensors, sonar, radar, weapons generally even better helicopter.

This is what the original argument was about and they both have points.

Education / Re: IPPIS: ASUU Replies President Buhari On Salary Payment by iblawi(m): 8:31pm On Oct 09, 2020
Chibueze90:
base on my careful analysis on the case at hand btw fg and ASUU, I deduce that fg were not sincere in this matter because hw will you sign an agreement with a union and subsequently fail to honor the agreement...it's called breach of contract.

secondly, you brought up an idea of ipps 11yrs ago (2009) to be implemented to all MDAs, which is good but then some MDAs complained about some discrepancies in ipps that might suit their payment platform, because ipps platform is just like a Excel data sheet format in which EVERY ALLOWANCE paid to every workers is present there but it was seen that some organization allowance peculiarities were not included in the platform..Now I believe that fg Should have confirmed ,amend, add and correct the necessary abnormalities in the platform but they failed to do necessary adjustment SIMPLY because the software was built by word bank with billions of naira and for them to adjust anything on the platform, they need to contact world bank and pay another huge billions for the correction, the reason is that the BACKEND OR IPPIS DATA BASE IS NOT IN NIGERIA (lol).. very pathetic

thirdly.. from my careful investigation..I came to understand that lecturers salaries were consolidated.. ie their salary comprises of basic salary and peculiar allowance.. now this is where there is confusion, lecturers re claiming that TAX should be deducted from there basic salary but ippis is deducting tax on both there basic and allowance.

Also lecturers claim that there promotion is not stationary..ie lecturers promotion are not base on hw many yrs u re in the institution but it depends solemly on the more certificate u aquire ( msc ,PhD, ) and also quality journal published..now after you ve gotten the necessary documents and qualifications due for promotion, you will be appraised by you Dept, faculty n finally school Senate before u will be promoted.this can happen at any month of the year, but ippis mode of promotion is stationary, Ie, promotion is sessional , maybe two times or once every yr, if u miss that particular month or period, you wait till next year..

Another stuff I also discovered is that ippis office is only situated at Abuja, any complaint by lecturer from unilag base on mistake or error in payment will require you to travel from Lagos to Abuja, lodge in a hotel for days until you're attended to Compared to there formal method of operandi in which lecturers can simply go there burser for any complaint and it will be attended to at no expense to the lecturers...

Now on ASUU part,
this consistent strike should stop...you people should find another way of getting fg attention and not only strike because we the students re seriously SUFFERING and are always at the loosing end in this fight..
pls and pls consider the plight of our youth In this country wasting away cos of the brutal and yeye fight btw yourselves and fg
thanks

It's better you write long story on things/ areas you understand very well. You listed too many wrong points.

You should be ashamed to compare your tribe to a people that started from nothing after the war. If such comparison can be made it means the Ibos have really done well for themself starting from nothing and no Federal patronage even till these day. No other tribe in Nigeria can survive it.
You are wrong bro.

The truth is that federal government can't do without South West (Yorubas). Even Nigeria won't be what it is today without South West.

On the other hand, Nigeria would be a better country without the South East.

But a US company recently got license from SDF rebels to drill syria's oil.

And as we all know, Trump stationed some US soldiers in Syria to keep the oil. He said it on camera.
US has been told to leave Iraq since January, this is April and we still have US bases all over Iraq.
If you understand capitalism and monopoly, you will definitely know that there is nothing like "having more than enough" especially when it comes to wealth and resources.

Yes, maybe a citizen or a US company or even a group of leaders that benefit from it financially.

USA as a country/Government can do without oil from other nations.

Look at Syria, Iran, iraq etc. weak countries where the U.S can get oil from by supporting an enemy eg. Taliban, al qaeda giving them a reason to invade to “defeat the terrorists” and at the same time they’ll be taking your oil and gas illegally
US currently have more than enough on there home soil. They don't need oil from any part of the world.

Kind of related

The bigger picture

Only anarchists/liberals are demanding unarming of police , actually they want to remove police all together . No sane person will demand the same.

Demilitarization of police is a misnomer , a ruse to a bigger plot .

Arms in possession of police is not equivalent to arms carried by military.

It is a plot to destabilize countries around the world by anarchists , liberals and corporates.

After defanging and removing the police the very same anarchists will install their own armed militia to fight the resulting chaos and from then onwards it will be a route to grab power under the guise of fighting chaos. The same militias will trample the rights of people and those who do not subscribe to their ideology.

Police in many countries many not be the best but that is dependent on the country in question. Their political , judicial and administrative competence. No organization in this world is free of mistakes or prejudices. Efforts should be made to make them better but neutering them will plunge society into chaos .

It took 1000 years of evolution in policing to come up with what we have today. Does anyone think it will be that easy to replace the same. It will be a fools errand and a suicidal move.

How does one expects to fight thousands of heavily armed powerful organised crime syndicates , powerful international drugs cartels , international arms cartels , Islamist terrorists with cross border affiliations without police. Does one think police are supermans ?. One policemen gets killed the whole department is terrorised into submission. This is how things can played out in real world. Criminals are not fools or messiahs.

Problem with police is political interference in their day to day functioning , ironically the same politicians are calling for removal of police.

I say remove the politicians , 90% of the problems will disappear themselves.

lol

Nice write-up.

Lagos is basically located in the west but it cannot be said that it belongs to only Yorubas as it was former Capital of Nigeria, just as Abuja is today. More so, Lagos was founded/discovered by a Benin prince and if he was a white man, trust me if i say Lagos would have been a province of Edo State.

However, there are a lot of work, money, energy, time and RESOURCES from other parts of Nigeria that has gone into Lagos, hereby aided the development of Lagos. If you look at Lagos today just to give a small example for you to see how others have contributed immensely to the growth of Lagos and her GDP. Business activities that are ran on a daily basis around Ladipo, Alaba, Apapa, Idumota, Lawanson, etc, are largely ran by non-yourbas.

This is my view without any favor regarding a particular tribe.

Aworis, Egun and Egba are the original indigenes of Lagos and they are all Yoruba.
If we go back to history you will remember the Benins were great worriors and they defeated the inhabitants of Lagos then.
Secondly, if you remember the great wall of Benin you should remember it ended close to ijebu.
Thirdly, both Benin and the people of Lagos have always had very good relationship and inter-married each other many even live in Lagos and forgot where they came from.
Fourthly, if benins were the original owners of Lagos you would have more of benin people in Lagos than yoruba.
