Politics / Jonathan Budgeted N1 Billion For Feeding In The Villa, PMB N1.7 Billion by ice4242: 7:00pm On Mar 05, 2018
Jonathan spent N1.4 billion servicing presidential jets, PMB N6 billion.

Jonathan funded education and built new universities, PMB budgeted more for Ministry of Information than Ministry of Education.

Jonathan spent N8 million per foreign trip on average, PMB N55 million. Jonathan created jobs, PMB’s policies have caused unemployment.

Jonathan’s fuel price was N87, PMB’s N150.

Jonathan’s dollar exchange rate was N185, under PMB there are 11 different “official” dollar exchange rates. For Pilgrims’ it’s N197; Customs N285; Budget N305; Interbank N315; Fuel Imports N316; International Bank Card N319; Travelex N345; Special Funds Airlines N355; Western Union N375; Bureau De Change N399; and Black Market N488! if we could described Jonathan government as clueless, how can we describe this government.

Nairaland / General / Malabu :confused Nigerian Govt Hires 2 Different Attorneys For Italian Trial by ice4242: 5:14pm On Mar 05, 2018
There was confusion at an Italian court Monday as two lawyers purportedly representing the Nigerian government surfaced in the trial of Shell and Eni executives over alleged corruption in Nigeria.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that although the Italian court postponed to May 14 the start of the trial, one of the lawyers, a certain Mr. Sedu, declared his intention not to ask for damages from Eni.
PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday reported the expected postponement of the trial and possible transfer to another court.
The trial was originally expected to start on Monday but sources said the court might not be able to deal with the case because it had too many other cases.
The case involves the 2011 purchase by Eni and Shell of Nigeria of Nigeria’s OPL-245 offshore oilfield – one of Africa’s most valuable oil blocks – for about $1.3 billion.
Milan prosecutors alleged that bribes were paid to win the license to explore the field, which has never entered into production.
A former petroleum minister, Dan Etete, and a former Attorney-General, Bello Adoke, are amongst several Nigerians indicted in the deal, which was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Shell and Eni’s Nigerian subsidiary, Agip, are among those already being prosecuted in Nigeria, although they have denied wrongdoing.
A Milan judge ruled in December that the companies, along with present and past executives, would face trial. There was confusion at an Italian court Monday as two lawyers purportedly representing the Nigerian government surfaced in the trial of Shell and Eni executives over alleged corruption in Nigeria.

Politics / Tunde Bakare:for Just 3yrs, APC Borrowed N11 Trillion. by ice4242: 9:44am On Mar 05, 2018
The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly (LRA) Pastor Tunde Bakare said the debt profile of Nigeria under president Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is so alarming.

Bakare disclosed this while speaking at the Latter Rain Assembly on Sunday. According to Pastor Bakare for 16 years of PDP presidency, they borrowed N6 trillion but for just 3 years of APC presidency they have borrowed N11 trillion.

“If you truly know the truth, you will weep, if you know how much we are owing as a nation, you will weep. For 16 years of PDP they borrowed N6 trillion, for three years of APC, they borrowed N11 trillion” He said

He noted that those who did the borrowing were not going to pay back the debt. But the burden will be left on “our children, and our children’s children” unless the debt was written off.

Pastor Bakare also noted that president Buhari attending a wedding party at Kano was a mockery to Dapchi girls who were still in captivity, he wondered what Buhari went to do in Kano when Nigeria is still in a state of mourning.

“Forgive my ill-mannerism, but I could not comprehend why a governor will celebrate the wedding of his daughter, and another governor of his son, on the front pages of newspapers, flashing it before our eyes, when other peoples’ daughters are in captivity

“If any of them had lost a daughter in that captivity, would they celebrate that way? I know the Bible says rejoice with them that rejoice, but I do not know what the president of Nigeria was doing there.

“And somebody came to say, let me explain to you, it is Islamic tradition, before this time, about January, they had agreed, that he (Buhari) will be the one to give the bride away and (Bola) Tinubu will be the one to pay the dowry, and present the son, and they agreed long before now.

“I looked at him and said the president of Nigeria wanted to come to my daughter’s wedding, and I said to him, sir, don’t come. That is beneath your office. Face the work of the state and keep serving.”
