Politics / Re: A Day-Old-Baby Whose Mother Has No Where To Go After Demolition Of Lagos House by identified(m): 12:55pm On Apr 11, 2017
oyienootieno:

It is not about survival skills, it is the fact that Nigerians have perfected the act of using sentiments in everything. Lagos and every other state surely has a master plan. So nobody should try to make it look like the Govt is using authority to oppress the poor. Without demolition Dubia won't be what it is today. Few years back many criticise El rufai but today his contribution has help put abuja in the Limelight.
A government that can sleep comfortably after shedding the blood of helpless citizens on the altar of concrete, glass and iron structures (a.k.a urban development) isn't a good government. This same rubbish happens in other places around the world; I bet you they will indeed build the sky scrapers n all but crime rate would still come as high as their buildings...it all goes down to that ever increasing rich and poor gap. Disaster lurks...

AsiwajuNdigbo:
Before she had the baby, before she got pregnant, before she became resident in Otobo Gbame, this woman belonged somewhere. She needs to return to that somewhere. Its called survival skill!

Humans have innate recall and strive to overcome adversity and survive. If a person is faced with a situation that threatens their security and life and refuses to shift, adjust, repose and remove the threat then they are mentally, spiritually and physically demented and retarded.

Lagos State is a land of survival, you either make it or restrategize and try again. No one should die trying, unless they have lost the instinct for survival.....and in that case they are better off dead than becoming burden and a threat to the security and life of others who strive and beat the odds.

No, Govt must not intervene. If you are not strong enough to find a way out of this and survive then you are weak and unfit for the hustle of Lagos life to begin with....Get out!
Jesus Christ! What has happened to the human race? I can't come to terms with your thought pattern. I cant believe some ppl even liked your comment. I fear for mankind.

Abeg who took these pictures, the 'beaters' or the 'beatees' . As a neutral and a spectator this post smells a lot like propaganda. The pictorial evidence smells like shyt, I'm not impressed. Get is something better.

If you remember playing outside during the dry season or even leaving home without appying lotion you will understand better
mmsen:

Dirt isn't usually white, it's usually earthen color.

Your would see a more brown color than the white that you see on these kids bodies. If you look down on their opened shirts you can see that it is talcum because someone has also applied it onto their chests.
Politics / Re: Children Draw To Recount Their Boko Haram Experiences (Photos) by identified(m): 1:35am On Mar 30, 2017
I dont think that is Talcum powder. The dirt/dusty and dry weather in the north coupled with not bathing and applying body lotion causes that.
mmsen:

Talcum powder. Soothes the skin in the heat.

Blissful ignorance on nairaland. Phew!! @helovesme thank you for correcting these ppl. U just beat me to it by a minute. I don't kno wat nairaland has turned into. I blame this on our education system, nollywood and the moderators.

i really dont understand u guys on nairaland o. wat's wrong with the pictures? the position of petroleum minister in a country like nigeria is a very influential one and it comes with its perks. by the way she was already rich before she became a minister; look at her resume. we should stop sounding like bitter jealous people at a motor park on nairaland.
Politics / Re: Chevron Report That An Oil Rig Caught Fire Near Niger Delta by identified(m): 10:22am On Jan 18, 2012
Yay! Nice one guys. Glad we still have intellects on nairaland. Some site (nigerian) said the incident was triggered by maintenance work going-on on a nearby barge and they were bringin up all the conspiracy theories. The good thing is this well is just a gas well, imagine if it had oil with it, we would have been dealing with an environmental disaster. I guess chevron personnels wouldn't have been much on the rig. Does anyone kno about other operating firms with personnels on the rig?
Politics / Re: Chevron Report That An Oil Rig Caught Fire Near Niger Delta by identified(m): 4:33pm On Jan 17, 2012
Pls house who knows the exact location of OML 86. I've been searching for a higher resolution map of Nigeria's concessions and licenses all day.
Politics / Re: Chevron Report That An Oil Rig Caught Fire Near Niger Delta by identified(m): 9:52pm On Jan 16, 2012
im glad i got informed ppl to comment about this. we shouldnt be quick to lay blames on nairaland. anything happens,we blame GEJ,militants or boko h. this was just an unfortunate accident probably a kick. kudos to chevron for the way the news was handled. they didnt rush to break the news until in the afternoon. imagine wat ppl wud have insinuated wit the fuel subsidy tensions this morning, btw the said rig is located in a mostly gas condensate field, right?
Phones / Re: Choose Between Ipad 3g 64gb And Ipad2 Wifi 16 Gb by identified(m): 7:59am On Nov 12, 2011
@poster go for the ipad 2. The advantages of ipad 2 to 1st gen ipad r too obvious. Since u aint spending a dime on the ipad u can get the 'mifi' card for between 20 to 30k(just try abeg. lol). or u get a cheap android fone that can serve the same purpose. Look on the bright side u can connect up to 5 devices to ur single data plan, ur laptop n all
Crime / Re: Cop Commits Suicide In Lagos by identified(m): 1:22pm On Aug 24, 2011
Why can't we act civilised for once(especially on nairaland)? Someone(a father, a brother, a son) just died and we are making insensitive comments. I agree we have bad cops but they are still people there, hardworking good people. This stereotyping has to stop, I guess most of us are not happy when we travel out and they treat u bad cos 'all Nigerians are dubious'.

Religion / Re: Pastor Adeboye Says Pray Btw 11p.m To 1 A.m by identified(m): 1:55pm On Jul 02, 2009
this is just another case of the normal 'send this to 50 people and see what happens' sms/emails we get everyday, by the way did the Pastor come out to say he sent txt messages around or did he speak to any journalists? we should be careful the way we talk about preachers whether we believe 'em or not(or we go to their church or not), FEAR GOD cos He's real!, this is not an issue worth discussing on nairaland (moderators pls)
