audreypatrick20: If your intention is to give birth in Canada, it is very, very likely you won't be allowed in. Note: there is a thread on giving birth in the US:https://www.nairaland.com/617280/give-birth-usa-cost-procedure |

mizIvy: Can you get access to bank statements that would demonstrate the entire transaction, from start to finish? That might help explain what happened. |

lansha2006: Not realistic at all. By the way, there is a revamped immigration process in place for skilled workers, with much shorter timelines for the process than in the past. That would be a far better way to go about getting the chance to work in Canada. The nairaland thread >>>https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines. |

Get a tiny cooker and mini fridge and cook for yourself maybe? Suggest you want to improve your cooking skills for your future life; or you really like cooking and want to experiment with different dishes on your own, or something like that... |

Got this info from an Air Peace associate: Customers can get a refund if they choose but it has to be processed by the corporate office. The ticket can also be used on a future flight since it's good for a year. No other airline except Air Peace provides an alternate flight to the east when they are unable to fly directly to Asaba due to bad weather. So the customer also has the option of going to Owerri and from there going by road to their destination. |

brandymcmb: Re the PGWP question, check with your school or the CIC. Seems since June a one year Master's will get you up to a three year's PGWP, as happened for a kid who just finished their Master's in ON this year and applied for their PGWP in Alberta a few weeks ago. |

pampem: Oga, do you study here in Calgary? Re the PGWP question, check with your school or the CIC. Seems since June a one year Master's will get you up to a three year's PGWP (at least in some provinces) |

charzyh2: @justwise, You've asked the same questions over and over, in all your posts to date, and have received many replies, including directly from the US NIV officers. It does seem you are extremely keen to leave the country, and that a 'visit' may not be all that you intend. You should be advised that hoping to use a visit visa to escape is a very big no-no, as you will have an extremely hard time scrambling to survive, if you manage to get there. Plus, such desperation will make you an easy victim of 'visa agents'. You are an ND student. There are many threads in the travel section that discuss studying abroad in countries with low tuition fees, such as Germany, Finland, etc. Why not face your studies, save the money you're hoping to use for this trip and use it to further your education in these countries, get a solid degree and position yourself to live/work/study in the country of your choice, eventually? That will be far better for you than spending energy trying to figure out some way of getting people you've never met in the US to sponsor your trip, etc. All the best. 2 Likes |

Ubuikeja: Greetings, Re bolded, of course you can purchase tickets from travel websites like Expedia, kayak.com, etc. The only issue that might come up is, some foreign websites won't accept credit cards linked to Nigeria, so you might have to shop around (google for travel websites) or ask around to find those that do. |

temmytanny: she was born in 1988 And I'm guessing neither of her parents were British citizens or settled there at that time? If so, unfortunately, she's not eligible and will most likely need the appropriate visa for her purposes- study, visit, etc. You can read here for more detailed info: https://www.gov.uk/register-british-citizen/overview |

h0n0rable: Thanks guys (mamacajah n Tvegas) for your response really appreciate. Apologies as my earlier post may not have been clear. I thought they may indicated the section you were denied under on the document you were given, eg section 214(b), section 212, etc; each of which has different meanings/implications. Regardless, as pointed out, honesty is key in future apps. |

temmytanny: Hi Guys, You might want to give her year of birth. The citizenship law did change in the early '80s, so depending on her year of birth, she may/may not be eligible. |

First of all, do you have the right to work there (i.e., work visa, green card, etc)? |
![]() |
domex007: Hello friends, Yes you can transfer within Canada, outside Canada, etc. |

nkechima: Hi Nkechima, just to clarify, I was not referring to asylum. There are really no grounds for that, for anyone coming from Nigeria. What I meant was, you wanted to do a certain program, then work, then go back and study what you really wanted. I just wondered if, maybe if you looked at a lot of different schools, you might find one that offered a way for you to immediately go ahead and study what you wanted. For instance, schools sometimes have bridging programs, where you go in, take a bunch of pre-requisite/qualifying courses, and then if you do well enough, go on to take the program you want. As opposed to doing an entire program you don't want and then going back to school. Because remember when you do eventually decide to go back after your 1st program, you will have to in some way still demonstrate that you qualify for the program you really want. The other thing, which I think was mentioned (no time to read through all the posts), was the skilled worker option. There is actually a thread on nairaland for people interested in pursuing that: https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines Or just go to www.cic.gc.ca, the Canadian government immigration site, and read about it, to see if you qualify. Hope this helps clear things up. Again, no time to read through all that's been posted recently, so if all of the above have already been addressed, apologies for the info overload. |
