Nigeria’s population is estimated to be about two hundred million, out of which the youth population, (15 -35 years of age) is said to be 75%.. According to a recent World Bank statistics, youth unemployment rate is 38 per cent, but even this figure is considered conservative. It is estimated that about 60% of Nigeria’s youth population is either unemployed or underemployed, a situation that poses great danger to the Nigeria Society in terms of crimes and assorted social vices. This generation of young people faces the dual crisis of unemployment and insecurity. Such a large population of unemployed, unengaged, angry, sullen, unproductive youths in any society will constitute a menace and security risk because their lives appear hopeless and yet they are full of youthful energy. Recent studies suggest that unemployment rate in Nigeria has taken a shocking increase from 14 per cent in 2012 to 38 per cent in 2015. It also revealed that unemployment rate is undoubtedly contributed to the high wave of insecurity in the country. As a matter of fact, Nigeria has never had it so bad, for over five years now, in terms of insecurity and criminality. More worrisome is the fact that criminality and terrorism, which have further crippled the economic development of the country, are perpetrated by young people. Hence, this paper examines this phenomenon and calls for a comprehensive multi-dimensional plan of action to combat youth employment before its associated consequences become unmanageable and consume the Nigerian Society. It examines the issue of unemployment and juxtaposes this along side the broader issue of national security. It examines present problems of youth unemployment and insecurity in Nigeria, its causes, social and economic implications, and possible solutions. The paper asserts that youths should be properly trained to possess skills which are congruent with real labour market demands, which will invariably, create employment opportunities, that would make the youth become productive assets and take their place in mainstream societal development the society offer the best of their skills and talents rather than getting themselves involved in criminality. God heal Nigeria especially North and the East.Amen

If you are sensible and business minded, you will see the handwriting on the wall that the South West states of Lagos,Ogun,Ekiti,Oyo,Osun and Ondo will continue to witness foreign and local investments because the North is tensed already with Boko Haram, bandits and herdsmen. Now the east is in crisis courtesy of the unknown gunmen and their online and offline supporters. The only problem the South West had was herdmen crisis and the regional security outfit code named Amotekun is now fully functional in all the States and herdmen crisis and kidnappers have been tamed to the minimum. So don't jealous Lagos,Ogun or Ibadan if you see industries flocking there. No investor will invest in a volatile environment. Even the investments there will leave and go to peaceful places. Dangote knows what he is was doing when he decided to make Lagos the location of it's refinery. Argue with points pls. 4 Likes

Hmm bro calm down. I spent my last card, sold my two cars, borrowed money about 7 million in total treating my late wife before she died. It was as if the World have come to an end. I have faced really hard times in life so many times, sometimes I felt the way you feel. There is what I realized later.... Any problem have it's expiry date if you can wait. With time, problem fades away. My advice, wait for a month. Just a month, things will be very difficult but u will see that as time goes, it will subside and u will be out of your problem. Trust me, wait for a month, u will be better and gradually things will improve. Learn to live life as it comes and it will make u strong and better. Good luck! 13 Likes |

Ireland has temporarily suspended the rollout of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine following reports of blood clots in adults who received the shot in Norway. Irish health minister Stephen Donnelly said in a tweet on Sunday the decision was “based on new information from Norway that emerged late last night”, adding that this was a “precautionary step”. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/3/14/ireland-should-suspend-astrazeneca-vaccine-says-medical-officer |

Nigeria is a good country to live because we have reasonable weather, good food, cheap standard of living, some level of freedom, low tax etc. If government should provide the following, I am sure most embassies will be deserted. 1) Security( well trained officers) 2) Industrialization ( jobs will be created) 3) Good infrastructure ( Good roads, electricity, good hospitals,Good schools etc) 4)Mechanized farming. I wonder why our government find it difficult to provide all these. I am beginning to think this country is under a spell
