Siena, since when did you "marry" somebody and i was not invited to the "wedding" @ topic, probably none, most nairaland guys are still stuck to mama's aprons. . . . . which simply means they still need to grow up, never mind they are in their twenties and above. RampamT, are u also cadet aka morenike09 , if so, then you should enroll in the forthcoming bannology class with the likes of 4Him, Sheniqua, spermdrops, 4play and the regularly banned peeps |

hucarson: I completely agree with you. While some may argue that we already have a peculiar wage structure, i still believe we need to spend money for the best players. No point in having a nice studium with no trophy to show. I think Debo mentioned something about evolution not revolution as Wenger's strategy. I think it should be the other way round. If we don't keep up with the competition, we will get left behind. God forbid Totenham draw closer to us in coming seasons. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Imani(f): 6:27pm On May 13, 2008 |
Debosky, my brother, please ignore the likes of 4play. We all know he is always up to no good when it comes to the mighty Arsenal. 4play, stop calling us gayners!! If you want some man on man action, i am sure some of your fellow muppets united fans will gladly oblige you Although, too much bending is not good for you. |
Romance / Re: Why Do Nigerian Girls Have Protruding Bellies? by Imani(f): 11:07pm On May 08, 2008 |
If a lady is slim - some will complain too thin, no boobs, no arse, chicken legs, they like "flesh" on a woman If the lady is plump - some will complain too fat, big belle, big butt, fat legs, very unattractive If a lady is "normal", some will speculate about how she will look in 10 years time. No matter what we do, we can't win. Then some men have the guts to complain that women are difficult. All these unrealistic expectation, takes nobody nowhere. Lots of pretty, size zero women can't still keep their men. Surely, it can't all be about looks Having said that, we ladies should also take care of our selves and remember the older we get, the harder it is to lose those fat. It is better not to put it on, than attempt to diet and exercise. Prevention is better than cure. Since men are visual animals |

@Akolawole, Shocked you have joined the Arsenal "bashers" . [s]To think i contemplated tipping Chelsea to win something this season[/s] |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Imani(f): 9:47pm On May 06, 2008 |
Contrary to the opposition's analysis and "doom and gloom" attitude, Arsenal is improving. Yes, we are yet to get the "perfect" eleven, and have not really replaced the solid players that have left like Henry, Viera, playmakers like Bergkamp, we are still bringing through promising young players. It is a shame that the game has changed, and clubs play more for the financial rewards and winning trophies, no matter how they do it. Our youngsters still need to be given time to prove themselves. Not all will make instant impact like a Rooney. Overall, we finished higher than last season, and could have maybe won the league, had we the depth and mental stability of other challengers. We are still in the learning process. |

@ Akolawole, Bank holiday is fine, thank you. Time to rest my tired body and mind Regarding certificates, Most schools will produce them within an allocated time. Most Unis have two graduation ceremonies . . .summer or winter. July graduation for an October dissertation is fishy except if the Uni is affiliated to a bigger University. What is the name of the Uni in question? I doubt it is in the top 50. |

@ Kobojunkie, I am tired of sounding like a broken record on this topic. What i know is when you respect yourself, in this age and climate, and all things being equal, people will do the same. Everyone is still entitled to their opinions including Mr Omotade. I will be travelling with BA soon, I will have to watch with interest. |
Politics / Re: British Airways Regrets Maltreatment Of Nigerians by Imani(f): 10:10am On May 05, 2008 |
texazzpete: I simply don't get Nigerians!!! We are demanding for foreigners to stop maltreating when in fact we are the biggest culprits. Some "thieves" were caught the other day and were asked to strip naked and their pictures were published in a news paper. There was a woman among them and i was really disgusted. No man or women should be deprived of their basic rights to be tried before being condemned. I didn't hear anyone complaining. When the Nigerian police or military are operating, nobody dares interfer. It is a known fact that the British Transport Police are present at all international airports to maintain safety and security of all. I do not support maltreatment of anybody, but most people bring such fate upon themselves. @Ovamland, There is a difference between being delayed due to immigration enquiries and visa checks and being delayed due to a security issue. I am sure you guys that got through didn't raise any unnecessary alarm and cause any disturbance. The US police are actually stricter than the UK ones. |
Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by Imani(f): 9:51am On May 05, 2008 |
@Akolawole, Having the original certificate shouldn't take too long. Once you have successfully finished your course, you should be able to get the certificate either at graduation or sometime later. I guess a lot of people have abused the priviledge of just using provisional results. |

Travel / Re: Common Mistakes Foreign Students Make In Uk by Imani(f): 9:36am On May 05, 2008 |
@all, I don't have much input from the "abroad" side of things. My knowledge only applies more to those already in the UK. Akolawole: This is not strictly true. A person with a valid student visa after 10 years can make an application for indefinite leave. The only problem is the the Home Office will want to know how the person intends to stay away from public funds, and there are strict rules regarding the 10 year concession rule. If an individual comes into the UK, does A level, Bachelors, Masters and Maybe a PHD and has evidence, and is able to maintain themselves, without any criminal records, they will be fine. They do have to satisfy the 18 months rule, in which they shouldn't have been out of the UK for more than 18 months during the 10 years, or have broken the "immigration timeline" that is always renewed their visa before it expired. The best scenario is probably to get on with all the education, and by the time they applicant finishes, get on the Post study work catergory under Tier 1 and then apply under the 10 year rule if eligible. That removes the need for getting on the Tier systems. Remember it is "outside" the rules, therefore the process is scrutinized more. |
