Posting this update in case someone finds it helpful. A family member who applied in Dec 2021 to visit us just got PPR request today. We've been the filling the webforms (Nairobi, London, Accra, Lagos) all this while, bugging the MP's office and emailing the various country email addresses but decided to do the following yesterday: 1. FIlled the new webform: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp?v2 2. Emailed ABUJA-IM-Enquiry@international.gc.ca 3. Reached out to the MP's office. MP's office replied yesterday that they reached out to IRCC to either treat the application soonest or get back to us if they need more information Long story short, PPR came in this morning. 2 Likes |
Jobs/Vacancies / Free Graduate Preparatory Class by interestingleap: 9:41am On Aug 09, 2018 |
Take advantage of this unique, free and not-for-profit initiative and get your career started. ==================== Message from convener below ==================== Straight out of Nigerian university graduates are not prepared for the business world. They go for interviews armed with brilliance but do not get employed because of their crude skills. I have been involved in over a thousand interviews over the years and this has played out a thousand times. The good news is, with a few friends who have volunteered their time and resources, we have prepared a course that will help bridge this gap. Whether you intend to get employed, start your own business or relocate abroad, this Graduate Preparatory Class will give you the basic skills needed to get you to the next level. We will help you build on this with free materials and mentorship. Trust me, it’s entirely free………including lunch. To register visit www.gpcskills.com

I will be going to the US on a B1/B2 visa for medical purposes and I intend to take my child who is also on a B1/B2 visa. We will be in the US for a little over 2 months. Can my 7 year child attend Elementary school while we are in the US without any restrictions due to his visa category? Will my child be accepted into school mid way into the school term till the end of term? Thank you. |

Dear VO, Kindly assist urgently. I applied for a non-immigrant visa renewal over two weeks ago (now over 10 working days) through the dropbox program and I've been tracking through the www.ustraveldocs.com site but I've only being getting the status message: "Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate". I only just now checked on the ceac.state.gov website and saw the status message "Administrative Processing". From my checks on Google, Administrative Processing could run into weeks, if not months. The main & real issue I have now is that I am due for a trip outside Nigeria (not US) next week. Ticket has been purchased, plans have been seal. I need my passport back as I still need to process PTA using the passport. Invariably, I have just two working days before my trip. Kindly advise on how I can get my passport back. P.S:I emailed LagosNIV@state.gov a few days ago requesting for the status of the visa application but I am yet to get a reply. Please reply as soon as you can. Thank you. |

interestingleap: Hi VisaOffice, VisaOfficer: Thank you for your earlier response. My purpose for wanting to visit the US is primarily for my Vacation at Disney world but I also intend seeing my brother. Based on this, I am at a loss as to which detail to fill into the under-listed fields in my DS-160 form. Not sure if it should be that of the vacation booking company or my brothers'. Contact Person Name in the U.S.: Organization Name in the U.S.: Relationship to You: U.S. Contact Address: Phone Number: Email Address: Kindly enlighten. |

Urgent advice needed. A friend has a Visitor VISA interview this week. She would be visiting a friend but she filled a wrong information in the "Organization Name in the U.S." field for her friend. The friend she would be visiting already left the company she imputed and is now working in another equally reputable firm but she had already submitted the form only for this info to come up recently. What would you advise at the interview if questions are asked in this regard. Thanks you. |

VisaOfficer:Thank you for your time. I would like to ask if it is advisable to book my Disney vacation package before the interview in order to increase my chance with the visa officer. Also, kindly shed some light on the effect my virgin passport could have on my application. Thanks once more |

Hi VisaOffice, My intention is to visit my brother who just started working after haven recently completed his graduate program in the US and also take my son to Disneyland during our visit. I currently work in a well known multinational but my passport is still virgin.I am not sure whether to simply apply to visit my brother or apply to vacation at disney or if I should combine both intentions in my application.Kindly advice on an option that might increase my chances. Could my virgin passport affect my chances? Just to mention, my spouse is currently undergoing an educational program in Europe hence he wouldn't be going with us. Thank you |
