Romance / Re: Why Do Good Girls Always Fall In Love With Bad Guys? by jadedmocha(f): 11:30am On Jun 26, 2012
9jaganja: It has nothing to do wit security. It's simply psychological. The bad guys always keep girls on the edge of their seats cause any moment could be another sweet memory. But with good guys it's just simply predictable what will happen next and once girls know that, it takes out the sweetness in suspense. Girls need someone that could surprise them. Good boys ain't got much game except for those romantic soft words while bad boys could say things that makes the girl think or know that even though they are lovers, they are also best of friends. Good boys are always coming with the lovey dovey things while bad boys are always coming with surprises and are more playful and confident. Why don't bad girls like good boys as much as they like bad boys. The experience baby the experience. Good boys just ain't got more than words and the usual,
You just said it all. Good guys are predictably boring, now bad guyz are spontaneously exciting, you can be amazingly free as possible with them, his liberty frees you from any pretext. The conclusion of the matter is this; Good girlz can explore all their fantasies with bad guyz.

Education / Re: Is Intelligence Overrated: What You Really Need To Succeed by jadedmocha(f): 2:12pm On May 11, 2012
brilliant thots and deductions. well scribbled. wink
scribble: Arunma Oteh did not need to consult her senior management staff at SEC in order to unilaterally approve a N 500 billion AMCON bond. Is this because she is some sort of Amazon Wonderwoman? No, she has a degree from Harvard!

The House Committee’s investigation unraveled deep insight into the lackluster management style of Ms. Oteh. For instance how she bypassed her senior management team in everything from hiring contract workers to a N 500 billion AMCON Bond Approval.

The pinnacle of business education is seen as the acquisition of a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Across Corporate Nigeria, you will undoubtedly run into Nigerian returnees from the USA who speak with fluent American accents and are armed with professional experience from abroad as well as the golden Harvard MBA.

It has been common practice for senior Nigerian politicians to hire Harvard certificate holders as it is thought that such individuals possess a magic touch. One thing we can all agree on is they know how to make a presentation.

Arunma Oteh, embattled Director Genera of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a product of Harvard. At the ongoing House Committee on the NEar Collapse of the Capital Markets, part of what we learned is that she knows how to make a presentation.

Mrs. Daisy Ekinah, a SEC commissioner with over thirty years working experience revealed that Ms. Oteh, upon her resumption as SEC boss, made a presentation on “Roadmap to a World Class Capital Market” at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in 2008.
The presentation was fabulous, however that was the last everyone in the SEC management team ever heard of it again.

Harvard MBA’s or maybe it is female Harvard MBA’s working in Nigeria seem to have serious personality crises. Whilst they may be intelligent and book-smart, they lack the inter-personal communication skills required to motivate personnel, clients and other stakeholders. The only inter-personal skills they deem necessary to work on are their business development or marketing skills. These type of skills are vital to bring in money, however once the money comes in, they become even temperamental and distant from their clients.

Ms. Oteh has displayed flashes of arrogance in the past, one would think to describe as flashes of righteous indignation concerning the allegations she levelled against Hon. Herman Hembe. However when one considers the fact that even senior management staff at the SEC are seriously disillusioned with her leadership style, calling it ‘selfish’, ‘dishonest’ and ‘singular’ in not so many words. Then one begins to see a woman who has serious character issues, but hides behind the ‘brilliance of a Harvard MBA’, in hopes the brilliant light will dull everyone else into believing she possesses something special.

Surely, it wasn’t the good professors at Harvard who taught Ms. Oteh that management meetings are best held via email and text messages.

According to Ekineh, ““There is a dysfunction in SEC, because we no longer work together as a team. There is also absence of respect and team spirit. During the time of the last two DGs, we used to hold meetings in their office regularly. This helped a lot, especially in bringing unity and cohesion to our activities, while helping us achieve more.

“Today, we hardly hold meetings and face-to-face interactions; instead, meetings have been replaced with text messages and emails. I am not saying text messages and emails are bad, but it should not make us do away with meetings and face-to-face interactions.”

Ms. Oteh has been working with these people for close to 4 years or more, could she not tell they were dissatisfied or is it an underlying selfish nature that allowed her to harden her heart to the feelings of individuals who have served their country for a much longer period than Ms. Oteh whose Harvard MBA magically lifted her into the position of power?

Whatever the case may be, it is glaring that as a nation we sell our own institutions short. There is good reason for this, as many of our institutions are nothing to write Harvard about. However in the same sentence, some of these Harvard graduates are nothing to write our institutions about.

To think Ms. Oteh with all her Harvard qualifications and such, could mismanage an institution like SEC to the extent that ALL her management staff are disgruntled. Where is the cohesion? How can a regulator whose duty is to build trust and integrity in the markets not have the trust of her board room?

We shoot ourselves in the foot over and over again in Nigeria. We keep putting these foreign talents ahead of our own deep talent pool and the fact is relationship, character and integrity are more important than certificates.
Next time you see Harvard on a CV or presentation, take your time to assess the character and values of such individuals before handing them the keys to the kingdom.

Appreciate this information. would do as you recommended. i have a first class from a good university in Nigeria. I have a foremost desire to go for my masters abroad. ur so rite about Uk universities, they cost a arm and a leg. would appreciate any help you can help to achieve my aim.
MarcAnthon: Why don't you all take two months off whatever you do (that's if you even need that much time), write GRE, do great, apply to schools in the US and if you actually had 2:1 or better coming off undergrad and your GRE scores are tight, you can get full funding for masters in the US, or about 70% funding at least. Seek info about this and expand your horizons. Undergrad abroad may be for the rich but masters? No. I'm yet to see a masters student in the US who is paying for his/her studies. It's either you are on a scholarship or you are a Teaching or Research Assistant. You get your school fees paid and they give you money for upkeep every month end.
Masters in the UK requires money. About 20K pounds, cos all they want to do is collect your money. But in the US they really are interested in building you up and most of the schools are rich and have massive endowment funds.
Y'all don't limit yourselves. While a masters in the US is not the end of the world, it definitely will give you a good head start. So think about it, and seek more info. GRE is also doable if you know what you're doing.

The earth as we know it was created some 6000 years ago, do not forget that the in the account of creation as recorded in the bible, God has been existing for aeons and at some point he proceeded to divide the waters into two separating the water into two different mass. The waters above condensed to form the sky and the waters on the surface were further separated to form lakes, oceans and dry land. This is what is known as earth today. So the very substance from which earth was made from as actually been existing for aeons, for how long I do not know. The very uniqueness, complexities, design and amazing functionality and aesthetics of nature points to the existence of a supreme being who designed all, Jehovah is his name.
2good:
4.2billion years to human=4,200,000,000

a thousand years=1000

God human ratio, 1:1000

Meaning 4.2billion in the sight of god is 4,200,000,000/1000=4,200,000 years.

That is 4.2 million years which contradicts the bible's 6,000 years.

Your conversion of geological years of earth to its equivalent in the sight of god is not rational and too vague.

criously I feel u, I have d same hang ups myself. Many are times I just wanna be alone without intrusion on my privacy. Most peeps bore me I'I rather watch a good movie, read some books than smile & act interested. Commitments scare me. My sis says I'm this way cos av not fallen in love, Tired of prepping up for him, whereva he is. meanwhile I enjoy my singleness. Truth is two heads together rock beta than one
cugresources: OMG! what?? why the frontiers here again? I AM NOT GAY PLS!!! Its even irritating to imagine, gosh! Okay, I love girls, does that make it sound better? I love cute girls but I am NOT good at taking emotional and mental responsibilities involved in a relationship, thats just it, if I can handle it, why not? I don't want to hurt anyone becos I know I won't be there for the person emotionally most times when the person would need me. There are several moments in my life that I just hate seeing anybody around me, time of being alone, so what would happen to such times when I enter into a relationship and she needs me then? My mom back then couldn't deal with it, she only learned to abandon me at such moments. Such moments have even increased now. I just love being alone and meet or see people when I feel like, but its not like that when you are in a relationship. thats just my fear ok, don't get me wrong pls.
