Jobs/Vacancies / My Job Search Journey: From Doubt To Dream Job With Appt Jobs by Janesow: 3:24pm On Mar 04
Last December, scrolling through Twitter, I stumbled upon an ad from Appt Jobs. Intrigued, I clicked on the link, which led me to their WhatsApp job hunter in December 2023. They offered a free week of job alerts, but as the week ended, I hesitated to commit.

However, everything changed when I saw a glowing testimonial from Anita Ojieh on their community group. Inspired, I slid into her DMs seeking advice on landing my dream job. Anita was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She recommended I optimize my CV with Appt Jobs. I contacted their support team, impressed by their affordable fees. I ended up getting both CV optimization and subscribing to their monthly job alerts leads, which came with a free cover letter.

Armed with a polished CV and a list of relevant opportunities, I started applying with renewed confidence. The initial silence was normal, as companies typically have internal timelines for contacting shortlisted candidates. Then, two weeks in, the floodgates opened! Interview invitations poured in, both locally and internationally. While I had to decline some international opportunities for personal reasons, I received several local invites. Some companies even acknowledged my impressive CV, the one Appt Jobs ultimately did. Within three weeks, I landed my dream job! It offered not only the position I craved but also managerial responsibilities, exceeding my expectations.

Looking back, I realize the significance of a well-crafted CV and the power of perseverance. If you're searching for employment and haven’t considered Appt Jobs, especially their CV optimization, I urge you to take the leap. Their services are affordable and effective, and their support team is exceptional. TO chat with Appt Jobs, save this number +2348092926438 on your phone and just text "Hi" on WhatsApp to get started, reply with 1 to start getting job alerts and make sure you follow the instructions. Jobs/Vacancies / How I Used Appt Jobs To Get Up To 10+ Job Interviews In 30days by Janesow: 5:46pm On Feb 23
Since I posted screenshots of the of jobs interviews I got using Appt Jobs, a few have asked me how I did it. So, without further ado… here is the gist. I’ve actually heard about Appt for over a year now, but I was kinda just waiting in the shadows for them to announce their new upgrade. It blew my mind, so I went full-on using Appt in December — even snagged a subscription and everything. Turns out, that whole “new year, new goal” thing really hit me in December!

Keywords! Keywords!! Keywords!!

Anyway, the reason I joined Appt Jobs (and why I think got that many invites) is because I’ve built my career in two fields. I have experience in both product management and shouting its praises to the world, you know, marketing and growth. Now, I’m focusing on specializing on the product side, blending my product skills with some marketing touches to make awesome things happen. So, when I registered on Appt Jobs I put in job titles and related keywords to both product and marketing. I typed the exact keywords for the jobs I wanted — product marketing, growth marketing, digital specialist, etc. when I registered. While I’m on the hunt for the product job, I figured why not dip my toes into the personal assistant pool? You know, something virtual where I can help executives tidy their schedules, meetings, and plans like a superhero of organization. Basically, a side hustle to keep the gears turning while I chase the big product dream.

So, I threw in “personal assistant” alongside “product manager” and “marketing manager” to cast a wide net. Turns out, you can add a whole buffet of job titles on Appt, which I love! And let me tell you, the right keywords are like magic spells, conjuring up tons of relevant vacancies. Appt even sends fresh batches to my WhatsApp four times a day, with at least eight brand-new openings each time. I scan for the fresh and exciting jobs, readily applying for the ones that grabs my attention, while ignoring anything with a passed deadline. Their system’s still evolving, but I know you can update your keywords down the line. Appt community has helped me to figure out how to change the job title keywords to suits what I want.

CV & Cover Letter Creation

So, when I started getting job invites via Appt, next thing was how to best apply, I needed a resume and cover letter (that CV and fancy letter recruiters like). Honestly, I’m not a writing master, I’ve never written a CV that has gotten attention from recruiters so I had to reach out for their CV/Cover letter service. Yep, I paid the Appt Support guys, I just tell them “I got this job I want to apply for, can you tweak my resume and cover letter to fit?” and boom, they work their magic (paid magic, but efficient!). Remember I’m juggling two paths — product and marketing — I had them create a CV for each: product manager, marketing manager, and even one for personal assistant (though I’m new to that). For each, they highlighted my relevant experience and skills: product stuff for product roles, marketing stuff for marketing roles, even certificates! For personal assistant, they used my volunteer work and early career stuff, spun it to sound like I was an amazing C-level personal assistant back then. Guess what? These Appt-made resumes are like golden tickets! When I applied, I started getting interviews. Sure, sometimes it’s a no-go, but that’s just because I wasn’t the perfect fit. But when I do get called, it’s a party! Same with cover letters — Appt whips them up fast, even if I’m slow to respond. They ask what job I’m applying for? Do I want to a cover letter tailored to this role? I say yes, and boom, personalized letter ready (my subscription granted me access to three free cover letter templates). So yeah, that’s the story of my resume and cover letter magic courtesy of Appt. Not everyone’s a writing whiz, but these guys have my back!

More ways Appt Jobs helped

I started applying actively during December, sending stuff out every single day for two weeks straight. I applied every day to every job that Appt sent on WhatsApp even for jobs with future deadlines, I just kept hitting “apply”! But after all that hustle, nothing. Not a single response. Feeling super bummed, I messaged Appt’s recruiter. They had two explanations for the radio silence:

1. Slow response is normal: It can take companies a week or two, sometimes even three, to sift through applications and pick their favorites. Don’t expect instant replies like your work buddies!

2. Christmas slowdown: Many companies close for the holidays, meaning recruitment basically hits the pause button until January.

The recruiter’s advice? Hold off on the frantic job search till month end. That’s when businesses get serious about hiring for the year ahead, trying to hit those Q1 goals. January and February are prime time for snagging a new gig! As for my CV tip? Outsourcing to Appt recruiter was my golden rule. These Appt guys are keyword wizards, packing my resume with industry keywords that recruiters love. It’s worth every penny! And guess what? All that December applying paid off after all. Interviews started rolling in, though I missed some while travelling for Christmas. Still, I landed a sweet virtual role with a non-profit, and even had to turn down other offers thanks to my application marathon. Heck, even yesterday, a company I interviewed with before Christmas came back (after ghosting me!) with a higher salary offer. But I had already locked down that other job, so I had to politely decline.

So, if you’re feeling discouraged by the job hunt, remember this: Use as much job title keywords, get that CV prepped, keep applying wisely, and before you know it, you’ll be saying “no thanks” to offers instead of begging for interviews. Trust me, it’s a good feeling!
