Politics / Not By Tribe Nor Religion.. A Deligent Cop Is A Goal by janey1984: 11:31pm On Oct 24, 2020
Rabiu Garba is the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Fegge Onitsha. He built a borehole for the neighbourhood without any fund raising.

He organizes soccer tournaments for the youths of Fegge at their stadium where he also goes to play table tennis weekly.

For Rabiu Garba, Fegge is his home. Fegge is his community.

He has attended almost every church and every event in the area as he is invited because he is accepted as one of them.

When the rampaging youths came to burn his Police Division yesterday, he neither fought nor fled.

While his men were panicked, he walked out to meet the mob with the courage of a man who had nothing to fear.

They recognized him and the angry chants were silenced! Most of the youths could vouch for him as a professional cop and a role model for many young men in the community.

They even granted him audience to address and counsel them before the mob dispersed.

It had nothing to do with his tribe.
It had nothing to do with his religion.
He was just a model cop.

Weldon DPO Rabiu Garba.

Politics / Xenophobia, The Naked Truth by janey1984: 8:57pm On Sep 03, 2019
The NAKED TRUTH
Unfortunately, Nigeria cannot touch South Africa.
We have no chips to negotiate with.
We hold nothing to put the South African government under pressure.

First off, this is a shithole.

There's no infrastructure.
Minimum wage is 18k.
You provide your own energy. Your own water, and your own security.

What about ease of doing business?
Don't make me laugh. Everything in this country (even in the corporate world) is done by Akpako. Because nothing is working...
Isn't that the first place reason that our youths check out to other countries?

They want a life. And SA provides life.

Alas. SA people are lazy, useless and pukes.
They want foreigners out of their country so they can have the jobs that they were too lazy to do in the first place.
There have been waves and waves of these xenophobic attacks. Yet waves and waves of Nigerians still relocate to South Africa. And those who are already there will not come back home ( come do wetin?)

What does that tell you?

Oh you want to talk about MTN, DSTV and Shoprite? How many South Africans work in the Nigerian branches of those companies?
Oya attack those businesses and put your brothers and sisters out of work na.
Their country is flooded with Nigerians. Whereas there's a handul of them here.
So we are even handicapped ♿ diplomatically. We have to kiss their ass.
The best Nigeria can do diplomatically is to rally support against SA. But what can we offer the other African countries?
We have nothing! Absolutely nothing!!!
We are a joke.
The South Africans don't need us, and they know it.

Assuming we were to boycott SA businesses in Nigeria, what's our alternative?
Oya boycott dstv for example. Where will you watch your BBN? all your Wiz kid and Davido, and all your movie producers, how will they make their money? How do you even think our entertainment industry even became so alive and wealthy in the first place?
Boycott MTN and you're left with glo and 9mobile ✝ and Airtel.
What about shoprite? Hahahaha. They're everywhere o. Where did you get all those stuffs before they came

We have NOTHING.

The Dangotes and Otedolas are enjoying privileged licences. They'll not have to be creative to earn their keep.
They invest only where there is guaranteed/ easy profits, and where government patronage is likely.
Government gat their backs.
Our politicians will fleece the resources of the country and build hotels, mega fuel depots, tank farms, and obtain licence to import fuel.
Nothing more. Nothing more...

We can't touch South Africa.
Or any other country that serves us shit.
Because we have NOTHING!

I sympathise with myself as a Nigerian, and more with any of my countryman out there who ha been bullied , killed, beaten, or has lost their livelihood in the search for a life, or for greener pastures in foreign lands...
May God help us all.
Amen.

Politics / Re: Herdsmen, Shiites Crises May End Nigeria –sheikh Gumi by janey1984: 5:06am On Jul 27, 2019
I concur
sophsia62:
SheikH Ahmad Abubakar Mahmoud Gumi is a Kaduna-based Islamic scholar. In this interview with our correspondent, NOAH EBIJE, in Kaduna, the fiery religious leader answered questions on national issues without fear or favour. He came down hard on President Buhari over the high rate of insecurity and poverty in the country, alleging that it is the worst government in the nation’s 20 years of democracy. Sheikh Gumi said he regretted criticizing Obasanjo’s government in 2004, saying that he never knew that a worse government was ahead in 2019.

How would you assess the security situation in the country today?

I don’t believe so much in conspiracy theory, these things started long time before the advent of this administration. The Fulani herdsmen menace and its repercussion, I have seen it growing slowly before this government came to power. It became saturated because of the economic factor, suddenly the economy came into stagnation, and the people became desperate. So the economy blew out, and the security apparatus lacks adequate manpower and instruments to control the situation. It was a gradual thing and the economy bears the main point. You could see children under the age of 15 planning to kidnap, to get what? Money, because poverty is too widespread. So when you don’t get the economy right, you are going to destroy everything.

Some Nigerians allege some people are benefiting from this state of insecurity. Do you share their view?

No, no, it is too naïve to think that way because nobody is safe, nobody is safe, they could kidnap anybody anytime. It is not about ethnic or religious and political affiliation, it is purely economic war, and there is no religious colouration. In fact, when the herdsmen were attacking people in Benue and Plateau states, they said it was Islamization. When they attacked more Muslims in Zamfara, everybody kept quiet. The people in Zamfara State suffered this more than anybody.

Herdsmen, bandits and kidnappers have been largely blamed for the insecurity, do you believe there’s more to it than the common man can see?

The insecurity situation in the country today, absolutely, every single Nigerian is feeling the brunt. It is very treacherous, anything can happen anytime, anywhere. It is widespread, if it is concentrated on a localised place, it would have been curtailed. But generally, lack of institutional infrastructures and poverty in the land are responsible for insecurity in the country.

What’s the role of religious leaders in this whole situation?

Religious leaders are [of] two [types]; there are those who dance with government and there are those who try to tell the government what it is supposed to do. Those who dance with government can never tell government what it is supposed to do. And those that don’t dance with the government, when they speak, they say your position is against them, so government doesn’t listen to them. So by this, religious leaders are virtually neutralized. They have no role to play because if you speak the truth, they will say you are in opposition. When they finish speaking, they just want to hear sweet music of approval, even in a serious situation like we have now. Nobody wants to hear the truth. We have reached a point of diminishing returns, because indices are not responding to stimuli. You have really seen that things are going out of tunes.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has equally raised the alarm about increasing security challenges in the country. Do you share his thoughts in his recent letter to President Buhari?

When Olusegun Obasanjo was in power, I was among those who criticised him. And when Jonathan came to power, and Obasanjo wrote a letter to him, I told a congregation in the mosque that whatever I have said about Obasanjo or whatever I think Obasanjo did wrong to me particularly or the people, I have forgiven him. This was during the first letter he wrote to Jonathan.

So I have forgiven Obasanjo because I realised that the manner he is doing it is for the interest of Nigerians. When he saw Jonathan whom he brought to power was going off the track, he corrected him in a letter, saying this and that. So now, this same Obasanjo, when he sees President Buhari doing the same thing, wrecking the nation, he drew people’s attention to the drift. He has been consistent, if he sees that you are deviating from the mainstream or doing something that is so detrimental to the nation as a whole, he speaks. So why should I not take his words serious? A former Head of State, a security man, a man who fought the civil war and everything, he is supposed to know at least what is happening to everybody. What Nigeria needs now is stability, peace and tranquility. There are forces that are pragmatic, practical, not idealistic and full of propaganda. So this nation is made up of many tribes, and hundreds of different persuasions, even within the same division you have divisions and different ideas. With the same Bible, they fight each other or with the same Koran, the people will be fighting each other. So there is only one thing that can unite us; the desire for peaceful coexistence, that is what everybody needs. When we sit down on the same table and find the way out, whatever it is, we can resolve it. So if leaders will come together and negotiate our ways out, the problem will be less. When you win election, it doesn’t mean the nation is yours and you [can] do what you like, like if I am President now, Nigeria is my own, [and] I do what I like. It is not like that. You have to listen to the constituencies, you have to listen to Nigerians, and if you win an election, you have to tolerate all Nigerians. As the president, you got over 12 million votes (or let’s give him 20 million votes), for example, out of 80 million registered Nigerian voters. Out of eighty million, only 20 million voted for you and you are raising your shoulder––you are nobody, you are nobody in the question of Nigeria. You can’t do what you want; you have to be consultative, you have to bring all segments together. Why majority of voters did not vote is another reaction, you have to listen to them and find solution to what will unite Nigerians.

This is the kind of government we need. You can’t impose yourself, no way, you can’t use force. We need a government that brings everybody together, listens to people and obeys the rule of law, then we can have unity in this country. But force cannot do it. Let me tell you, when Nzeogwu did coup in 1966, they thought they have Nigeria, after six months, everything turned upside down. Force cannot do it. Major Orkar in 1990 thought he could change Nigeria by force. Force cannot do it. Only persuasion can do it. We have to sit down on the table for Nigeria to be readjusted. But we need a government that people can call and say, yes, they will do it for us.

How did Obasanjo offend you before forgiving him?

You know, every government has its own shortcomings. So when I came in 2004, I saw that the nation was in such situation that I did not know that we were going to reach a point in 2019 where I will begin to see that Nigeria can be so bad. Obasanjo was trying his best at that time, but I cannot see it because I did not see the worst. There was poverty. They brought me a woman in 2004 with nine children; it was during the fasting period. She broke her fast with water, she had no food. I was really touched. But then it was a woman that was brought to me, now they can bring me a whole community.

So, I was thinking then, why was the nation’s wealth not distributed well? Why were people not getting well, not so many people were getting rich, but generally, the economy was better. Constructions were going on. So these things I saw under Obasanjo made me to criticize his government.

When Jonathan came to power, and we saw the Boko Haram menace, it blew up the problems, the problems were increasing. Then Obasanjo came out to tell him that things were not going on well, and I said this man (Obasanjo) has the nation at heart. You may disagree with him here and there, but, generally, I will give him a pass mark. He is not doing the things for personal interest, but for the nation.

Are faith leaders like you genuinely worried and concerned and if so, do you compare notes?

We have not been comparing notes really. There are institutions that bring inter-faith leaders together, and when you hear such institutions, their leaders are already dancing to the tune of government. Whenever government calls, they are there. Yes, they may try to say a word or two, but their criticism of government is somehow limited.

Do you think the economy has something to do with the state of insecurity?

Yes, this is what I told you in the first question. It is the economy that really worsens the situation and it is worsening by the day. In fact, they said Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world. Things are really becoming terrible. It is normal to be sick. But if you are sick today, you are almost digging your own grave.

Are you worried about the Ruga policy?

I have not seen and read what government intended to do with Ruga policy. What I want to tell government to do is, negotiation; if government can develop ranching for private sector, it is the responsibility of government to encourage private sector to do ranching because these cows are owned privately and not by the government. So the government cannot secure a place for them because it is private business.

For instance, if you said you are allocating a large land for nomadic Fulani, I too sitting down here, need land, I need land to rear cows, so why giving this one and not giving that one? It is not the business of government to give land. What government should do is to facilitate ranches, demarcate areas for ranching, that people come and buy the land, give you taxes, then also facilitate the industries in the country. Do it for everybody, you don’t need to be Fulani. So politicizing the issue is wrong.

Many argue that the recent suspension following public outcry is diversionary. Do you believe government will still go ahead with it and what will outspoken leaders like you do in case it is reintroduced?

Like I said, Ruga is a private issue. They should just encourage people to make ranches, and then make law to stop rearing of cattle across borders. If they make law, the people will adjust. Like the Almajiri issue, they make things worse for Almajiri teachers because you have to build schools first, then make law that we don’t want to see any Almajiri roaming about. If you see him roaming about, the teacher or the parents are in trouble. Then you will see them disappearing. When you make ranches, across all the states, encourage the people to buy the ranches, then you see cattle disappearing from the roads.

VP Osinbajo is a Pastor of the Pentecostal faith. Do you see him as a likely successor to President Buhari in 2023 or the power remaining in the north as being canvassed already?

Nigeria as a nation should overcome this rotational thing. Maybe, we should be at the tail end of this rotation because in the last eight years the nation was fragmented, so divided that applying the idea in our political situation may not be pragmatic, may not be possible; otherwise we should have developed to the extent that the population decides.

Let Nigerians decide what they want in an election. What we need is political competence, people who are not bigots or under the influence of religion or any Nigerian who recognizes equality and unity of Nigeria. More importantly, we need leaders that are not against faith and religion. We want leaders that respect faith.

North has the numerical strength, do you think it will ever allow political power to slip off its hands again?

We no longer have homogenous north, there is no one North again. The one north is no more. How was Abiola accepted in the North against Tofa? Let me tell you, Abiola came to this house (Gumi’s House) and he said it was from this house he was told to contest for the presidency. But I have never seen Tofa in this house. What I am trying to tell you is that there is population in the north, but it is of different people, tribes, persuasions. There is no one thing that unite the north. We have good people who are nice; honestly, Abiola did not have tribal sentiment. He was not tribalistic. We just want competent people. So the most important thing is that you must not be tribalistic, or a religious bigot. No compulsion of faith. You cannot force your religion on another person. You can only convince somebody to follow you, not to force him.

Do you think the long detention of El-zakzaky and Dasuki is justified?

How can it be justified when the court of law said they should be released? This is what we are seeing in this government. Government should not use force to break the law of the land. In fact, they should be released when the law says they should be released. This is part of the thing we are saying that it is very negative about the constitution. Disobeying court order in day light. This is a nightmare that will haunt them one day, they will see the effect, how people will be talking about them. What legacy, what history does any leader want to keep? El-zakzaky has his own followers, Dasuki has his own followers.

Many Nigerians are worried that the Shiite leader’s travails can incubate another Boko Haram crisis. Do you share their fears?

Two wrongs do not make a right, the moment government has mismanaged this thing, it has already turned them into some form of militancy which we hope, they are restricted, as soon as possible before they become full-blown insurrection.

These people are no more afraid of authority because we have seen video clips where they are threatening police officers, and that is a sign that something should be done, otherwise they form their own authority.

So now, it is left for Nigerians to say, look, this Nigeria is not for two of you, we have our children, we have our future, the government cannot mess us up, create another insurgency when we have one already, simply for not obeying court order. So government should equally address them too, Nigeria is not for you alone, you cannot impose your religion or creed on the country. Nigeria has to wake up because if we leave these two, they are all northerners, I know how our psychology is, and nobody wants to show he is defeated. But it is not a question of defeat, it is a question of law. Let them obey court order.

What do you see as the solution to the myriad of problems facing the country today?

Let the government strengthen the economy and provide employment for unemployed Nigerians.

If you’re to meet Buhari today, what will you tell him?

I will tell him to revive Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Magu Laments Obstacles In Repatriation Of Stolen Funds, Appeals For Cooperation by janey1984: 5:05am On Jul 27, 2019
Oga what else do u want. You have executive
You have legislature
You have judiciary
Stop lamenting use state apparatus under u.
They are not for Zakzaky alone
Nwaforj44:

The Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has lamented the difficulties being experienced in the repatriation of stolen assets traced to foreign countries.

Magu who expressed the concern yesterday at the EFCC Head Office, Jabi, Abuja, during a visit by Dr. Joe Abah, Country Director of DAI Nigeria, an international development firm implementing programs covering governance, in more than 100 countries worldwide, made a clarion call on international law enforcement agencies to assist the agency in this regard.

“The process of repatriating monies stashed abroad has been very frustrating and disappointing, yet we have done everything possible, gone out of our way to encourage our sister agencies, but cooperation is almost nil,” he said.

He added that the agency has been investigating a number of cases for over four years, working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, National Crimes Agency and even the Crown Prosecution Service, doing everything possible and going out of its way to encourage sister agencies, but except there is a third party involved there is no cooperation.

Singling out the Swiss as being more cooperative than others, Magu observed that the others never disclose their findings, and are very reluctant to get the proceeds repatriated. “We are willing to go outside this country to give evidence, and to share the intelligence that we have,” he stressed.

Noting that President Muhammadu Buhari has remained unwavering in his vision and mission of ensuring victory in the anti-corruption crusade, he promised to be more daring in the next level of the corruption fight, given the political will the agency currently enjoys.

He further noted the importance of inter-agency collaboration between the EFCC, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Fraud Offences Commission, ICPC, the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, FRC, stressing that multi-agency collaboration was key to winning the corruption war.

Noting that the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, ACJA 2015 has been “very helpful”, he however lamented that majority of the people in the judiciary are not doing well. “But a few of them are, and we use to have dialogue with them to share our experience, and this has been very helpful,” he said, adding that from January till date, the EFCC has secured about 550 convictions.

While commending the MacArthur Foundation and the DAI for their support of the anti-corruption crusade in Nigeria, he called for more support for the agency in all possible areas.

Politics / Re: Afenifere Can’t Order Herdsmen Out Of South West –miyetti Allah by janey1984: 5:01am On Jul 27, 2019
Good
akelicious:
National President of Miyetti Allah Kautel Hore organisation, Alhaji Abdullahi Bodejo has said that Afenifere, the apex Yoruba socio-cultural group has no right to order herdsmen out of South West region of the country.

He urged all Fulani herders to stay anywhere they want in Nigeria and carry out their legitimate businesses, saying that Nigeria belongs to all. The Miyetti Allah leader made the statement in reaction to the order by Afenifere for Fulani herders to leave the South West part of the country in view of the several cases of kidnapping and killings linked to some of them.

Bodejo berated Afenifere for getting involved in politics, saying the organisation should transform into a political party. He called on the Federal government to monitor the activities of Afenifere, cautioning that the socio-cultural group lacks the authority to drive Fulani herders out of Yoruba land.

His words: “Afenifere should know that they cannot chase away the Fulani from their place. Let them not try it because the Fulani have a right to stay anywhere they want. Let them allow peace to reign.

“The Federal Government should monitor the activities of Afenifere because Nigeria is one nation. The Inspector General of Police should protect the Fulani anywhere they are; it is their right to stay anywhere in Nigeria to carry out their legitimate businesses.

“It is better for Afenifere to change to a political party because they are playing politics. They are telling the Fulani to go back to the North because they are a minority tribe in the country.

“The Southerners are everywhere in the North and we have not asked anybody to leave and go back to the South because we believe in one nation. All these people that are saying that the herdsmen are the cause of all these killings in Nigeria, are they police officers?

“They have no right to say that the herders are the people committing crime because the police, the army and other security agencies are doing their best to address the situation. But unfortunately, some people are trying to divert the attention of the security agencies and create more problems and tension in the country. I do not know why they are doing what they are doing. The Fulani should not allow anybody to chase them away; they should stay anywhere they want in this country. The Fulani are always the victims in all these crises in the country.

“If you investigate all these crises, you will find out that the Fulani are suffering too much because they do not hear English and do not have links with the media. They are usually in the bush and that is why everybody can tell all manner of lies against them.

“The Northern group calling on the Fulani to come back to the North is doing that because of the political interest of their members; we insist that the Fulani should stay anywhere they want.”

At a press briefing on Wednesday, one of the leaders of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo had ordered the Fulani herdsmen to leave the South West or face the consequences. Adebanjo who spoke on behalf of the group also warned the National Assembly not to amend the Land Use Act with a view to empowering the Federal government to allocate state lands to the controversial Ruga settlement project for herders.

theButterfly:
I wouldn't be so quick to label her a kleptomaniac.

1. Kleptomaniacs usually steal in public places, but the housegirl's stealing occurs in the home. She might end up stealing in public places, however, I'm not going by what might be, but what is, as described by the OP. Many celebrities [Wynona Ryder, Amanda Bynes, Lindsey Lohan, and a number of others have struggled with this mental disorder in the past, stealing in public settings].

2. Kleptomaniacs can usually afford what they steal / money is not an issue for them, but this is not the case w| the housegirl. She wouldn't be a housegirl in the first place if she had money / is from a wealthy background. Now take a look at what she steals: food/fruits from the pot and fridge, money, phone, sunglasses. These are things she needs as well as wants. This is not typically of kleptomaniacs who steal things that often have no value or use to them. This housegirl is stealing b|c she's not being fed well in the house and is likely earning peanuts from this child-labouring job.

Of a truth she earn no salary
I am training her in school, same school with my children.
Feed her with same food like everyone in the house.
But on inquiry I found out from her grandfather that she has been like that since childhood. At a time they her to a native doctor who prepared concoction and give and instructed she taste nothing till the next day. But before day break she stole bread.according to them the bread destroy the potency of the concoction she took.

Only reason I held on till now is to see if I can help her. She's a product of a babymama, she doesn't know the father. The mother is staying in PH, she in Abj with grandparent.

She wasn't going to school before I brought her in. Reason she is in elementary 4 @14yrs.

So no salary.

Thanks everyone for all the advice so far

Family / My House Girl Is A Petty Thief by janey1984: 9:32pm On Jul 26, 2019
I try to be very brief

I am staying with this girl from Kaduna, 14yrs of age. She is supposed to be in elementary 5 but was demoted to elementary 4 when she came to my house on february because she isn't intelligent enough.

I have 3 kids, 2 boys and a girl. My first child is 5+, that necessitate the need for a helper.

At first I start notice she lies at every chance, petty tapping (stealing from the pot, from fruit and cans in the fridge), to picking monies from anywhere she sees them, withholding balance after little purchases in the house.

The big ones now are:
1. On Saturday before easter I can be from ATM with 25k, drop my bag in living room to go check what I need from the market, getting to the market I cldn't find 6k again, speedily back to the house, on sighting my presence she became uncomfortable, after s many talk and threat she refuse to admit, enter bath to ease on coming back my money is already back to my hand bag.

2. Lil sis visit last time, on the morning she supposed to travel back she pick her android phone, switched it off. It to over 3hrs before she admit and return the phone. Her journey postponed

3. Got a plumber to help fix something at home. She stole his sunshade, it took serious beating before she admit and return it.

Several instances of her negative attitude. Had to complain to her granny through which she can to my house, even to school. Yet

My fear is the influence her altitude is having and will have on my little ones.

Please what do I do as I am about sending her back to her people.

Every good advice will be appreciated.
Bashing is allowed, so far there is something to learn from it.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Leave The US If You Are Not Happy - Trump To Congresswomen Of Foreign Descent by janey1984: 1:50am On Jul 16, 2019
EmagNig:
You can leave - Those were the exact offensive words President Donald Trump used against four Democrats he targeted with racial invective on Sunday.

Speaking to reporters in a video we sighted at the White House on Monday, Trump said:

“‘If you’re not happy here, then you can leave.”

Earlier, the president accused the congresswomen of “spewing” “racist hatred” – precisely the offence of which he has been widely accused.

The president wrote:

“When will the Radical Left Congresswomen apologize to our Country, the people of Israel and even to the Office of the President, for the foul language they have used, and the terrible things they have said. So many people are angry at them [and] their horrible [and] disgusting actions!”

He added:

“If Democrats want to unite around the foul language [and] racist hatred spewed from the mouths and actions of these very unpopular [and] unrepresentative Congresswomen, it will be interesting to see how it plays out.”

The tweets reflected others Trump sent on Sunday amid the storm created by his initial demand that the unnamed congresswomen should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime[-]infested places from which they came”.

The targets of Trump’s ire were Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of New York; Rashida Tlaib, of Michigan; Ayanna Pressley, of Massachusetts; and Ilhan Omar, of Minnesota.

Crime / Re: Herdsmen Stab 49-Year-Old Farmer To Death In Ogun - Vanguard by janey1984: 9:41am On Jul 15, 2019
MelesZenawi:
ABEOKUTA—RESIDENTS of Adao community in Alabata area of Odeda Local Government Area in Ogun State were thrown into confusion, yesterday, when two suspected herdsmen reportedly stabbed a 49-year-old farmer, Rafiu Showemimo, to death.

It was gathered that the suspected herdsmen accosted the farmer and stabbed him in the neck on his way back home from the farm at 12noon. It was gathered that a 76- year-old man had, two weeks ago, escaped death after suspected herdsmen cut him in the head with a machete. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, could not be reached as at press time.

However, the Olu of Alabata, Chief Sanusi Waheed, who oversees the affected Adao community, among others, stressed the need for government’s intervention to abort the plans of the youths to foment trouble, adding that the herders had crossed their boundaries. Waheed said: “The herdsmen have crossed their boundaries and we can’t condone them anymore. There is need for urgent intervention of government in the herdsmen problems in this community and country. “We would do all within our powers in communicating our plight to the government.” When Vanguard visited the community, the youths were sighted standing at strategic points in their numbers. They were armed with locally-made guns, cutlasses, charms and other weapons.

In 2015, Chief olusegun obasanjo said the igbos are foolish to have put all their eggs in one basket, that is to say, they gave their whole vote to Jonathan the looser while his Yoruba people were wise enough to divide their eggs into two baskets, half for Jonathan, half for buhari. Little did he know that the igbos are the wisest tribe in Africa as confirmed by the us media in 2012. They divided their eggs in 3, 5% for buhari, because they know nothing good can come from him, 45% for Jonathan and 50% for THEMSELVES. Today herdsmen are killing, maiming and kidnapping the wise yorubas that voted them to power as confirmed by obasanjo and some prominent Yoruba leaders. fulanis are glad to have taken over power so they are fully out to claim the whole country. The East have raised their voice to the international community and they are working towards better Nigeria. I just got a news that afenifere group just received a big trash on their face. The daugther of their leader, pa Reuben has been killed by the same fulani they wisefully voted to power. Religion / Re: It’s An Abomination To Call Your Husband By His Name Or Pet Name - Pastor Says by janey1984: 8:12am On May 06, 2018
[quote author=johnnyvid post=67317453]A pastor has told women that it is an abomination for them to call their husbands by his name or a pet name.
Pastor Chris Ojigbani, who calls himself a marriage and relationship expert, said a man is a woman's Lord and as such, she should never call him by his name or by a pet name. He said names such as "sweetheart, darling, even baby" should never be uttered by women in relation to their husbands. He was especially opposed to the use of "baby" and said it belittles a man. Lol. What an archaic man!
Pastor Ojigbani advised the female members of his congregation to refer to their husbands as "My King" and "My Lord". The use of ordinary names and pet names, he said, are as a result of wrong teachings.
As he preached, the female members of his congregation were seen nodding their head in agreement. After the video was shared online, a lot of people expressed support for his teaching but some pointed out that he calls Jesus by name though he is his Lord.
The pastor has now replied to those opposing his teaching.
He wrote:
It's amazing how many wives and unmarried women refused to accept the simple teaching in the video above where I taught wives how to become queen in their marriage.
In the video, I simply asked wives to make their husbands king if they want to become queen. And to do that, I explained you must respect him by calling him King or lord and by serving him food like a king. But it's so unfortunate that some of the women are arguing the teaching and insulting me as well.
After much consideration, I decided to ignore the insults and help you with further explanations. And I will like to start by asking a question. Is there anything wrong in asking a wife to respect her husband? Any woman who doesn't respect the husband is actually disobeying the word of God, which says that wives should respect their husbands (Ephesians 5:22). It's also interesting to note that any disobedience of the Word of God is a sin. If your husband doesn't treat you well, he has committed a sin and will have a question to answer before God on the judgement day.
So, if you disrespect your husband because he doesn't treat you well, you will also have a question to answer on the judgement day. It's also important you note that you should respect your husband unconditionally. You don 't respect your husband because he treats you well. In Christianity, respect is not reciprocal. In the world, respect is reciprocal but in Christianity, respect is sacrificial.
I also noticed that many wives commented they would never call their husbands lord. But the Bible tells us that Sarah called Abraham lord (1Peter 3:6). If Sarah called her husband lord, what makes you feel you are too big to call your husband lord? Apart from the fact that Sarah called Abraham lord, is there any other scripture that says the husband is the lord of his wife? Yes, Ephesians 5:22 says that you should respect your husband as lord. Verse 23 of the same chapter also says that your husband is your head just as Christ is the head of the church.
So, my teaching is scriptural! And I didn't write the Bible. The teaching is very clear and simple. Apart from the fact that the teaching in the video is scriptural, what wrong have I done to ask you to respect your husband? I didn't ask you to respect me, but to respect your husband. Some of you respect pastors so much but have no respect for your husband. Some of you don't call your pastors by their names but call your husband by his name. One lady even commented that she must call her husband by his name because she calls Jesus by His name.
Kindly check the scripture and you will find out that no disciple of Christ called Him Jesus Christ. Some may have referred to Him as Jesus when talking about Him to people, but when talking to Him directly, they called Him Master, Rabbi, Son of David, etc.
The previous week, I published a video, where I rebuked only husbands and many women applauded the teaching. But because the teaching in this video advises wives, the same women are angry. One of the women even commented that my teaching is an African teaching. Please note that there is nothing African about the teaching.
The teaching is directly based on scripture, and the scriptural references are Ephesians 5:22-25 and 1Peter 3:1-6. It will interest you to note that the teaching that supports equality of husband and wife is based on western culture. The Bible does not support equality of a husband and wife. It, however, supports equality of a man and woman, but not a husband and wife. It's different in marriage. A woman may be the head of a big organisation but her husband is still her head.
The Bible clearly says that the husband is the head (Ephesians 5:23). You can't be equal with your head. There is no scripture that supports equality of husband and wife. Rather western culture supports it. Unfortunately, there is a mixup of western culture and scriptural doctrines. Many people practise western cultures, thinking they are practising scriptural doctrines.
Having said this, I want you to know that I don't support the maltreatment of wives. God forbid! The teaching in the video was just to help wives become queen in their marriages. If you listen to the full message, you will see how I rebuked husbands. I actually rebuke husbands more because wives are weaker vessels. But I want you to know there is no other way of becoming a queen in your marriage apart from making your husband the king.
For you to become a queen, your husband must first become the king. The message has been tested and proven. It works! From the comments I read, it's obvious that some of the ladies are bitter against their husbands. And I will like to beg you to take it easy with husband. He may be maltreating you, but you are also not treating him well. If you give him his due respect, you will be happy. The problem is usually who will become nice first.
I know that some people wrongly teach you that you are equal with your husband. They are deceiving you. Such teaching makes so much sense but cannot be found in the Bible. Apart from the fact that the Bible says wives should respect their husbands, it's clearly better to respect than to disrespect a person. Do not see me as your opponent. God called me to help Christians, irrespective of one's church or denomination. That explains why I don't pastor a church. W
Ives, I beg you to be respectful to your husbands. Be submissive to your husband as the Bible teaches us. You can't be disrespectful to your husband and still pray to God. Any wife who disrespects the husband has no relationship with God. A man, on the other hand, who maltreats the wife has no relationship with God.
My teaching may be hard but it's the truth. We live in a time that people have itchy ears but I teach only what you should know. I don't teach what you want to hear but what you should hear. If your husband has annoyed you so much, please forgive him and have a fresh start with him. Put into practice my teaching, and your husband will make you his queen. You can't be happy in the marriage if your husband is not happy. Make him happy and become the happiest wife on earth. When I teach husbands, I rebuke them as well. But now, I am speaking to wives.
Respecting your husband does not mean you are a slave. Rather, it cements your relationship better. I also want you to know that you cannot modernise marriage.
Marriage is an old-fashioned institution and must be practised in an old-fashioned way. Any attempt to modernise it will destroy it. Jesus Christ said that if you put a new wine into an old wineskin, it will bust.
The marriage system has “busted” because we are attempting to practise it with new marriage doctrines. We must go back to the scripture and practise only scriptural doctrines if we want to restore our marriage system. I would have explained further to you but I feel that I have already said enough.

Politics / Re: Femi Adesina Reacts To Buhari's "Nigerian Youths Are Lazy, Uneducated" Comment by janey1984: 5:08pm On Apr 19, 2018
itsdumebi:
Below is a statement signed by the president's media aide, Femi Adesina;

At the Commonwealth Business Forum in London on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari gave a keynote address on Making Business Easier Between Commonwealth Countries. The presentation was followed by a discussion, and question and answer session.

Responding to a question, President Buhari had cause to talk about some Nigerian youths, and he said: " We have a very young population; our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million. More than 60 per cent of the population is below the age of 30. A lot of them have not been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria has been an oil producing country, therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, healthcare and education free.”
Typical of their stock in trade, manipulators and twisters of statements of Mr President, who lie in wait to make mischief, interpreted the comment to mean that President Buhari had taken all Nigerian youths to the cleaners. But elementary English recognizes a wide gulf between "a lot of" and the word "all." How can "a lot of them," suddenly transmogrify to mean “all of them?” Mischievous and unconscionable!

There is no way President Buhari, father of the Nigerian nation in every sense of the word, who equally has biological children of his own in the youths age bracket, pass a vote of no confidence on all youths. It can only exist in the imagination of those who play what the President has described as "irresponsible politics" with everything.

President Buhari has always applauded and celebrated Nigerian youths who excel in different areas of endeavour, from sports, to academia, and other realms. And he will continue to do so, because he values the youths, and knows that they are the fulcrum on which the future of the country rests.

Indeed, every country has its share of idle population, and it is the bounden duty of government at all levels, to create an enabling environment for them to actualize their potentials. That is what President Buhari is committed to doing.

The focal areas of the administration; securing the country, reviving the economy, and fighting corruption, are actually intended to give youths a future and a hope. This much was emphasized in an April 5, 2018 comment by President Buhari, while receiving Letter of Credence from the Head of Delegation of the European Union to Nigeria, when he said: " Our insistence on probity is to encourage people to be accountable, and accept honesty as a lifestyle so as to secure the future of our youths.’’ The President also said more than 60 percent of Nigerians fall into the age category of youths and deserve to inherit a stable and prosperous country that they can be proud of, adding that the government will work assiduously to prevent waste and the depletion of resources by corrupt Nigerians.

It is futile for mischief makers to lie in wait, and take a minor part of the words of the President, and turn it into negative commentary, peradventure they could diminish the profile of the President. Nigerians across all walks of life know who is serving them faithfully and truly, and they will always reciprocate such fidelity as occasions demand.

Tofax:
Founder and Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly, Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has reacted to the declaration by President Muhammadu Buhari to contest for Presidency come 2019 election.

President Buhari had announced his intention to go for second term at the National Executive Council meeting of the APC held in Abuja on Monday.

Reacting to the new development, Bakare, speaking to Daily Sun said he would support Buhari’s re-election bid if he (the president) canvassed for his support.

According to him, Buhari has every constitutional right to seek re-election.

Bakare said “I would support Buhari If he canvasses for my support.

“It was the President’s prerogative to seek re-election, nothing forbade the President constitutionally from seeking re-election.”

Bakare, speaking on whether he would cast his vote for the President during the election, said “It is a secret vote, for that it remains my secret.”

Bakare further warned Nigerian to be careful, even as the 2019 election drew near.

He urged Nigerians not to confuse ‘electrocacy’ with ‘democracy.’

Recall that Bakare had recently flayed President Buhari over his attitude towards the kidnap of students of Government Girls’ Science and Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State.

Miffed by the President’s presence at the wedding of Idris Ajimobi, son of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, and Fatima Umar Ganduje, daughter of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, in Kano, pastor Bakare, while speaking during a Sunday service, in Lagos, said he could not comprehend what President Buhari and other governors were doing at the wedding when other peoples’ daughters were in captivity.
